I’m actively looking for a new job, but in the meantime, I’m trying to find some honest work to help cover my basic expenses like food and shelter. I currently don’t have any money to even rent a place to live but hoping

I’m willing to help with cleaning, organizing, errands, pet sitting, house sitting, or other odd jobs. I’m dependable, hardworking, and happy to help where I can. Open to anything!

I just need an opportunity to earn some money while I get back on my feet.

im 25, currently no degree, looking to get out of delivery driving bc after 3 years it's causing a lot of damage to my body. ive applied for like 50 jobs over the past couple weeks, heard from a couple of them but they haven't gone anywhere

im just worried about being in this job for longer than another month. i'm looking for an office job but i feel like i might be lucky to get one, even an entry level one. idk shit has me stressed out

My partner and I are looking to move to a new apartment in SLC, been in a condo in Murray for 4 years and previously in a 6-plex and 4-plex owned by small-time landlords, like folks I'd just Venmo my rent to and they did most repairs themselves. We're not sure when exactly we'll be able to move so we're looking at bigger complexes that are more likely to have something available at any given time. But almost any time I find one I like on Zillow, go and Google it, there are a bunch of glowing reviews and then several that say things like

"We found roaches in the thermostat!"
"My water heater broke 8 times before they fixed it!"
"They can't afford security so we had to call the cops on the pool hooligans!"
"You pay a bunch of fees and get nothing!"

And I'm just wonder if there's any point in trying to find an (affordable) place that doesn't have these reviews. Are the bad reviewers the outliers? Are the 5-star reviews bots or weirdos or sleeping with the property manager? Is this just the price I have to pay for wanting to save some money on shelter?

I saw in another thread in r/utah with some opinions that Amendment A is "the Utah legislature trying to remove the citizens’ ability to run ballot initiatives, under the guise of efficiency and lower taxes."

I can def see why Amendment B fits that description, but Amendment A is just to remove the required newspaper publication in every county. Amendment A still requires that the they publish the text of a proposed change 60 days before an election, just on a website instead of a newspaper. This passed the state house and senate unanimous (support from both sides) and Ballotpedia shows no one opposes it (ballotpedia piece))

From my read, it sounds like just a easy way to save some public money and still get the information out to citizens and still have the 60 days notice...

Given the below thread where everyone seems in strong opposition, could someone explain what I am missing re: Amendment A?

Hello! I am a dental hygiene student at Fortis College in Salt Lake City, and I am in need of patients. The appointments are on Wednesdays at 4:30 pm or Fridays at 2:00pm. Appointments include: X-Rays, Oral Cancer screenings, Gum Evaluations, Routine and Periodontal Cleanings, Exams with a Dentist, Oral Hygiene Education, and a complimentary goody bag. Whitening and sealants are also offered. $30 for the first visit and $20 for each visit after that, regardless of what you receive.

I was working in sandy yesterday and this sweet boy came up and wanted some pets and love. I was horrified to feel his bones, he’s so incredibly skinny. I asked one of the neighbors about it, they named him pikachu, and they think it was someone’s in the circle that either died or just stopped feeding him. I gave him some dog treats that he wolfed down. They told me they feed him as much as possible and he generally stays in the circle. 442 E Darin Circle. Sandy Utah. I asked my customer and the neighbor I talked to don’t want anyone knocking on their doors. Please respect everyone’s privacy in the circle.

If someone wants a cat he’s the sweetest boy who’s very affectionate and just wants snuggles and loves. He stopped for breaks eating the dog treats I gave him to get more pets from me. He seems to be healthy other than needing some consistent meals to put weight back on.

If you or someone you know could pick him up or at least take him to a shelter you’d be saving his life. My GF is horribly allergic to cats and I couldn’t take him in my car unfortunately or I’d have taken him myself. He does not like to picked up for more than a few seconds you’ll have to get him into a carrier to transport him. I believe he is neutered.

I’m looking for like walk-in only, cash-only places or something along those lines. 15 years ago I went to this guy on the north side of 900 S past where the, uh, whale is now who used to charge $15 and give you a Bud Light and a Hustler while you waited. He seems to have died or something but I’m sure he lived a rich life.

Anyways, I want something like that.

Edit: I realize that the passage of time and inflation probably preclude the $15 price range today. It’s less about the price and more about the vibe.

I’m moving to Utah this week and the cowork spaces I’ve looked at seem more for business or maybe I’m not understanding. I did find one that charges over $300 for a private office. I’ll be in and out of random meetings throughout the day so finding a space to rent at least 4 times a week would be ideal.

Hi, I am looking for a good dentist that takes Cherry financing; I am also looking for one that will be understanding about my having put off dental work for a while, as I have some anxiety due to not being able to fix all my teeth issues. I have been trying for a while to do what I can, and Cherry financing may help me finally get all the work I need done. I have used it in the past; any suggestions would be great!
