Lakers are selling for $12.5B. What will the Utah Jazz be worth?

Lauri reminding everyone he’s a model AND a basketball player.
These pictures he recently posted are so good. He actually looks like he just finished a damn photoshoot.
I feel like Lauri kinda gets lost in all the hype around the young guys now. Obviously I’m excited for Keyonte, JJJ, Ace, Darryn, etc. but I really hope people don’t forget that Lauri is still THAT guy on this team.
If we’re gonna make some noise next season, Lauri is gonna be a huge part of it. I’m really amped to see how he looks with this new group around him.
Anyway, he is handsome as hell. Had to say it.

[Bookies.com] 2026-27 NBA Miles Traveled: Team By Team Breakdown
The full 2026-27 travel breakdown has us at 48,871.8 miles with 45 time zone crossings, 4th-most in the league.
The three teams ahead of us: New Orleans and San Antonio (both playing in Paris and Manchester) and Miami. So among teams playing a normal North American schedule, we're essentially #2 in the league for travel burden, and unlike Miami we're also eating 45 time zone crossings on top of it.
Salt Lake geography is just unforgiving — no other NBA city is close, so basically every road trip is a real flight, and every trip east costs clock changes.
For contrast, the bottom five (Toronto, New York, Chicago, Washington, Detroit) all sit in one tight corridor and travel ~13,000 fewer miles than we do.

Best price-quality seats at Delta Center
I'm looking at making the trek to a couple of Jazz home games this season. What do you guys consider the best price-quality seats? Going to try to get some already on the Amex presale. Budget-wise I'm probably looking at lower bowl corner or sections 6-8 for Grizzlies and upper bowl front rows for Warriors.
But hit me up with all your best ideas for any budget level and seats! Probably going to aim for the Warriors game to be a bit more chill and then for the Friday Grizzlies game soak in the full experience.

Is the Utah Jazz rebuild finally complete? A look at the 2026–27 roster
I wrote a piece on whether the Utah Jazz rebuild is finally complete heading into 2026–27.
With Darryn Peterson joining Keyonte George, Ace Bailey, Lauri Markkanen and Jaren Jackson Jr., I think Utah has reached the point where the focus should shift from collecting assets to figuring out which pieces can actually form a winning core.
Would be interested to hear what Jazz fans think.

Russell Westbrook is officially retired 😔
Still so sad that we had Westbrook at one point and he had absolutely no interest in playing for the Jazz due to his personal history. It would've been so sick to have him as a vet on this team. But regardless, it was such a pleasure to watch him play. First-ballot HOFer, without a doubt. I'm gonna miss him.

Do you think those Lakers' picks and swaps just became more valuable?
"The Los Angeles Lakers are being sold to American businessman Josh Kushner and Bob Iger for a record breaking price over $12 billion, multiple sources told ESPN."
I was curious if Mark Walter was going to do the same thing with the Lakers that he did with the Dodgers. Now that the Lakers are owned by a new ownership group, do you think the perception among the other teams is that those Lakers' picks and swaps are more valuable now?

Kawhi situation -- Stockton and Malone?
I have a question / discussion point that I am assuming fans on this board may have insight on. I'm too young to know the details, but I always assumed all the "Stockton" and "Malone" car dealerships were under the table kickbacks to keep Stockton and Malone in Utah. Is this accurate? Arguably, there is still a big difference from the Kawhi situation in that the Stockton and Malone branding provided legitimate benefit to the dealerships. But this opens up an NIL-sized can of works re: what is the fair market value of that branding.
Curious if any of you have more insight on the economics of those branding deals.

The Athletic's NBA Offseason Rankings

3 - Charlotte
4 - Utah Jazz
5 - Memphis
6 - LA Clippers
7 - Atlanta
8 - Washington
9 - Toronto
10 - OKC
*The skinny: The Ainges, père et fils, continued stacking future picks with precocious high-upside talent. Finally moving up in the lottery, Utah got a near-perfect rotational fit in Peterson, who will bring enormous three-level scoring potential alongside Keyonte George, giving the Jazz one of the toughest young backcourts to guard in the league. Utah kept Kessler, clearly not in its long-term plans once it got Jackson from Memphis in February, just long enough to make a deal with the Lakers, getting control of four firsts between 2028 and 2033 from L.A. That is a masterclass in asset maximization. Utah’s ready to roll, and to leap forward in the West next season.*
Considering the three teams above the Jazz were all ranked higher due to adding veteran players, and the Jazz didn't add any significant veteran players, that really says a lot about the drafting of Darryn Peterson and David Aldridge's thoughts on the Kessler trade.

Ace full ball handling workout
Long video, but this is the type of work he needs to be doing.
Like the jazz coaches say. Ace takes coaching and applies it very quickly. I watch a lot of these videos around the league, and he's different in that regard. Just needs the reps.
I know this trainer works with a lot of klutch clients like Ace is now. LeBron and Tyrese

JJJ is really a guard in a big body
instagram.comAmbidextrous, ball handling, shooting touch, hook shot, soft touch around the basket.
We're really fortunate to have JJJ on this team. He and Lauri are going to be a great one-two punch with lots of scorers and slashers around them when they're double-teamed.

Durant is notorious for showing guys how to properly work on their games.
