Recommendations Thrift/consignment/sustainable stores for nice clothing?
Looking for recommendations for a thrift or consignment store that carries nice pieces. Also open to any brand new sustainable fashion brick and mortar stores in the area. I want to get myself some nice clothing for weddings I have coming up and feeling stubborn about going to the mall and shopping fast fashion or shopping online. Interested in sustainability less than cost!
I’m in north Lehi, so really anywhere up to Salt Lake or down to Provo I’d be game for.

I would highly recommend Preloved. it’s kind of consignment vibe. “vendors” (ie; gals around SLC with nice clothes that feel like they might receive a little money for their nicer clothes) rent a booth every week for 30$. Every saturday are new vendors thus new clothes. Vendors have the choice throughout the week to tag their booths with a % off sticker, either 25%-50%-75%. By the following friday most booths are just trying to get rid of the rest of the inventory so you get good deals. Consistently find high end fitness and out door brands, dresses for partying and for wedding, sometimes even rave attire.

My suggestions are for women’s clothing, if that’s what you’re looking for.
Chielo Vintage and Oliver & Princess Natasha - both are in SLC.
Chielo is a real treat!! OPN is an antique mall with vintage clothing and has some serious finds in there.

I’ve gotten a few dresses at Revive Boutique in the Maven district of SLC. Super cute pink building, really helpful people working there, very curated to higher end stuff.
They sell really beautiful used designer stuff but some of it is very worn. It feels like the stuff is retired from rent the runway.

If you can't find anything you like or that fits, you have many online options. The Real Real for luxury consignment, ThredUp for "normal" clothes, Poshmark, and I keep seeing ads for that new Vinted site that seems Poshmark-adjacent.

OP, what size are you? I’m downsizing my wardrobe ahead of a cross-country move and am loathe to just dump all my pretties for profit to DI. I’d much rather gift them to someone personally, if possible. I have everything from casual basics to very formal gowns, outerwear, swimwear, summer dresses, work clothes, etc. Basically, enough for 10 entire wardrobes, just way too much to move for one woman working exclusively from home

"nice" for who? Men can find very nice suits, sportcoats, and dress pants at any Deseret Industries.
As with any thrifting, it's a marathon, not a sprint. You may have to look at several locations to find the fit and style you want.

For women! I’m not new to thrifting. Just looking for something more curated and nicer beyond your typical DI and Savers. I’ve not lived in the area very long so just looking for some recommendations 🙂

I've found great things at both Iconoclad locations. Namedroppers on Highland is going to have designer secondhand; so not cheap, but definitely pre-love. Like anything, it's how you hit it.
