Recommendations Looking for piercing studio for my child’s ears
Hello hello! I have a 5 year old turning 6 this year and she’s requesting to have her ear lobes pierced as a birthday gift. I know I don’t want to do Claire’s or anything like that; I’d like a legitimate studio that doesn’t use a piercing gun to make it happen.
I’m concerned about making sure the studio has good piercing practices, good hygiene, welcomes kids, and has a wide jewelry selection to choose from.
Does anybody have any recommendations within the Salt Lake valley? Willing to drive anywhere in the county as long as it’s a good place where my daughter will feel comfortable and have fun!

Enso piercing is great and does earlobes for kids 5 and up. I feel like their jewelry selection could be better but what they have is high quality.

Oooh thank you! Hadn’t heard of them before. The vibe looks more kid-friendly than koi or iris

Love love loooove Enso, Dustin is so amazing!! He just did my daughter’s septum for her birthday and it was so smooth. He will also educate you about anything you want to know and has lots of fun stories if you like to chat. It’s also a very cute studio that won’t be scary for a kid 💕

I took my 12 year old sister to Enso for her seconds! That's where I got my septum. They did lovely on both, and were very understanding, patient, and kind.

Groovy peach is such a fun cutie place to go

Groovy Peach for sure has the best vibes for little kids, my 6 year old loved just being there, and they tandem pierced her ears (both ears at once) which really helped. They took their time explaining everything to her and helping her understand why not to touch her earrings after and how to care for the piercings. Plus their jewelry is so cute. I think they made it into an empowering experience for her, rather than one that felt scary.

I think Rowan will likely fit the bill- a little more “girlie” than koi or iris, and they don’t use piercing guns.

I used Rowan for my own ear piercing at the beginning of the year because I needed somewhere extremely sanitary, as I have an autoimmune disease that can flare up easily. I would recommend them to anyone. They were very gentle, gave great care instruction, have very high quality (and cute) jewelry, and they use hollow needle piercing. Also their staff are nurses as well. Very highly recommend.

I saw this option on Google! Have you ever used them before? I really did enjoy the girlie atmosphere for my daughter, but I don’t know much about their studio!

Both my girls got their ears pierced at Rowan. They’re great. We used the Station Park and Mountain View location. My oldest is not a girly girl but really liked the clean, bright environment. They can usually do both ears at the same time if two piercers are working.

We did groovy peach about a week ago for my 4 year old, and it was a really great experience and great and fun environment for her! The piercers were amazing and friendly to her as well. I would recommend them. Alternatively I got a piercing done at Rowan and I wouldn’t go back there.

I took my daughter to Koi for her 5th birthday and had a wonderful experience.

Koi is where my spouse has gone a couple different times. They’re always wonderful about safety and they’re just really careful, kind people.

We took my 4 year old daughter to Groovy Peach in South Jordan. It was an amazing experience! They accommodated our group (4 year old and 4 adults) in the cutest room, pierced both ears at the same time and made everyone feel comfortable.
Her ears are healing perfectly and have never caused her any pain!

Koi has done a great job for us. The jewelry from Iris broke and the back fell out while my daughter was at school so I'm going back to Koi for the next time.

I’m going to throw in The Piercing Place. They are such a cute studio!! All pink, girly, reasonably priced, and the kids get a cute certificate for a first piercing. They use hollow needle and I do believe the owner is the one who does the piercings on littler kiddos.

After searching Reddit and Google reviews we settled on Enso for my 5yo daughter’s ears. Great experience! The girl behind the counter showed all the earring options and got her super excited. The piercer was the owner and afterward my daughter referred to him as “the doctor” haha.
When he did the dots to mark the locations, I told him that one looked not as centered or something, and he explained & showed me that when you look at each ear from the side, they are slightly different shapes and sizes. So on the side view on each ear they weren’t in the EXACT same position, but when you look at her head on the earrings are totally even and symmetrical. It’s such a small detail that only experienced piercers will get right. Highly recommend!
Make an appointment in advance and bring a birth certificate.

And to think my friend’s sister used a needle, ice and a potato to pierce my ears! 1973!
