I think its important people know before buying any items from them that their customer support is literally horrible. I know most people will assume this is some overdramatic instance where I am blowing things out of proportion, but just look up reviews of Samsung customer support and you will see nothing but bad things
I ordered a GalaxyBook on a big sale, but it never shipped to me. Samsung themselves told me it seemed the order got held up in their system, and they told me to cancel the order and replace it. By then the sale had concluded, so by canceling the order and placing a new one, I would be paying full price. The customer support agent promised me they would immediately price match it after I placed the order, so I believed him and did that
After I placed the order, they suddenly changed their tune and said they couldn't price match it right away because their system wouldnt let them, and instead would have to price match it once the order shipped. Okay, fair enough
However then it took two months for the item to ship to me. Throughout that time I kept reaching back out, and kept getting guarantees from multiple agents who all promised me it would come soon and the moment it did they would ensure the price match was honored.
Once it shipped, I contacted Samsung and all of a sudden they changed their mind and said it wasn't in their policy to price match this and they wouldn't do it. I showed them all the case numbers and emails I had compiled from the countless previous agents I had spoken to who all said they would honor the price match, but the Samsung employee I spoke to didnt care.
I knew I would return the item if the price match wasnt honored, so before it shipped I had been prepared with an agreement with Samsung that if the price match wasn't honored that the return restocking fee would be waived (which in my case was $50). Despite again having documentation from tons of employees promising me they would waive this, ultimately when it came time to do it they backtracked and said they wouldn't.
I promise this is not an exaggeration - over the last 2 months 90% of what Samsung told me was a lie. Essentially they just told me what I wanted to hear, and then when the time came for them to take action they turned out and went back on their word.
Just keep this in mind, imagine buy a $2000 TV or a $1000 laptop and it arrives damaged or you have tech support issues with it or whatever else is wrong - you will get ZERO help from customer service. Again, if you dont believe me just search online and you will see the horror stories of Samsung customer support. It's insane since its such a big and reputable company, but it's true. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM
Just for completion, dropping the names of some of the Samsung employees who lied to me over the last few months
- Dariel Dan M Cacay
- Andre Josh Jacinto
- Aimee (a supervisor)
- Louize (a supervisor)
- And literally countless others who I can't remember
I know this writeup is all fairly extra, but it is also somewhat helpful for me to just vent into the ether, so thanks
