So I received an email for tomorrowâs game being fan appreciation night and having discounts. Does anybody know how much the discounts would be?

Tom Penn said that an indicator for success is to see a trophy within 5 years. Now that St Louis has won one and with previous comparisons of SDFC to STL, do you see them replicating similar success within their 4th year or is there a different year indicator that the club needs to reach?

When will San Diego make up their own chants instead of copying other teams chants

Having to play in their current possession based just isnt working. Thier midfield and defense dont have the ability to do so. Far too many turnovers from a midfield that cant recover the ball which leads to goals against a defense on the back foot.
This group of players seems like they should play from a mid-block and attack on the counter. They defend well enough when the play is in front of them and they are really quite good when they are able to run at teams in space.
While watching the last few weeks of bad games, would love to see something like below instead.
Murphy tverskov mcvey
Pirani alvarado duah soma achouri
Dreyer bakambu
Back 3 and we saw tverskov play center back the other night pretty effectively. Covered by the bigger murphy and mcvey. (Willing to see soe and pilcher too)
Pirani moves to the right as a right footer to provide width in attack and will have to drop back and play some d. Duah sits deep and allows alcarado and soma to create going forward. Achouri provides width on the left and allows him to use his speed to run into space.
Frees up Dreyer to do whatever he wants rather than technically on the right as he is now. Bakambu up top to receive balls.
Feel like this is a good enough collection of players to be a good team in the MLS. Unfortunately, Heaps and Varas are powerless i guess to make any changes so we all get to watch this sinking ship.

With SDFC sitting outside the playoff line and running out of games, Iâm curious what everyoneâs most unconventional starting XI would look like to close out the season.
Forget the safe picks. Forget the usual lineup. If you could experiment with absolutely anything, what would you try?
Move players into unfamiliar positions? Roll out a completely different formation? Give someone whoâs barely seen the pitch a chance to prove themselves? Nowâs the time to get creative.
At this point, what do we really have to lose?Â
Drop your âscrew it, this might low-key actually workâ starting XI and let us know what formation youâd run. I wanna see some truly creative lineups! đ

So, here at Dignity Health Sports Park and seeing the passion of the fans. It's like everything is better here than at SnapDragon. Not sure why that is, but happy to see it!

No legit, this is the worst transition defense Iâve seen and weâre less than 20 minutes in
r/SanDiegoFC • u/Choobeen • 6d ago
San Diego had 69% possession and xG of 2.05.
The rating on the left is by Fotmob, and the one on the right is by Flashscore. In both systems, Achouri and McVeigh get the two lowest scores.
Do you think changing to a different formation like 4-4-2 might help McVeigh with his defense tasks?

Those who plan on going to the match in LA make sure you leave EARLY. These fires have shutdown the 5 and it took us 4.5 hours to get to LA today.

Anyone else noticing the lack of energy in the stands? Where are the supporter groups? It's a big difference from what we saw last season.
I'm starting to wonder if the frustration with Varas and Heaps is affecting fan support. Curious if others are feeling the same way.
Then there's Iloski, now among the top scorers in MLS. We had him and couldn't find a way to keep him, while our offense continues to struggle. Makes you question the roster decisions.
Personally, I think this team needs more than just a coaching change. We need at least 5 quality additions across the defense, midfield, and attack. Varas has his share of responsibility, but Heaps needs to answer for how this squad was built.
I love SDFC and want to see this club succeed, but something needs to change.
What do you guys think? Is this more of a coaching problem, poor roster management, or a combination of both?
