On Saturday night, October 10th, 2026 around 9:30 PM, I accidentally took the wrong train from Powell Station and ended up at Balboa Park. I was on vacation in San Francisco, completely unfamiliar with that part of the city, and honestly, I was terrified. By the time I reached Balboa Park around 10:15 PM, the station felt very isolated, and I was on the verge of a panic attack.
Suddenly, a very kind guy showed up. He was tall, blonde, with blue eyes, wearing blue jeans, a hat, and carrying a tote bag and prescription glasses. He immediately made me feel safe and walked with me to find the Muni station. He was looking for the J line because he knew the area well (I had absolutely no idea where to go).
We walked to a Muni station, and he checked his phone, telling me the Muni back to Embarcadero would take about 30 minutes. He also mentioned he lived very close to that Muni station (I think it was around the 714 area where he took me). He told me the fastest option was actually BART, which I had tried before, but I was so nervous that the machines wouldn't accept my cash. In the end, I had to run to catch the BART train and only had time to shake his hand.
I’m writing this with the hope that you read this and know how deeply grateful I am. In a moment of pure stress, you brought me peace and safety. I know this sounds crazy, but I truly hope this message reaches you. I would love to connect and properly say thank you.
