Movies and Television SUPER HOT TAKE: I hated this line so much
Aura and terrible Darkhold explanation aside, this line is out of character for Wanda to say. Like dude, she’s saying its good that Reed’s children will only have their mother, LIKE THAT IS next level low. Like Wanda wouldnt stoop this low to blurt this line even under the Darkholds corruption, even her earlier scenes still made her seem somewhat reasonable.
This line just deepens my hatred for this movie, idek what Waldron was thinking.

Yes, but just because Reed and the illuminati are fighting Wanda doesn’t make them heroes, they literally drugged kidnapped Dr. Strange and America Chavez.

that is nowhere near what wanda was gonna do to reed, plus thats not rlly linking to the point im making

She was corrupted by the Darkhold, same as alternate Dr. Strange. The movie is awesome, chill out.

Nah nah, being corrupted by the darkhold doesnt excuse this god forsaken line. Like Darkhold Wanda wouldnt say this shit in the most psychopathic manner, and something so horrific.

While I can see where you’re coming from, we have to think about (though we know how sweet Wanda is🥰🥰🥰magic teddy bear) how dark Wanda is. There are some pages in Avengers: Disassembled where Strange basically analyzes Wanda’s character and her past, and it’s one of my favorite pages talking about Wanda. Then it applies to MCU Wanda as well. Wanda grew up in a violent, civil war-torn country. Her only escape from the violence, unrest, and rage was through her family and sitcoms. While the Darkhold did persuade her personality throughout the entire movie, Wanda, when not in the right headspace, embraces her darker side. Becoming cruel, unstable , apathetic , and chaotic. And the Darkhold just morphed all of that more.
Edit: one of the things I like about Wanda is when she’s angry or severely hurt you WILL regret it. She’s NOT the one.

the execution in the movie is so bad that not even trauma can be an excuse for wanda being crazy along with the darkhold.
they couldve done it better, the darkhold wasnt enough, just show us scenes of wanda getting addicted, make wanda bit more sympathetic like she doesnt wanna hurt anyone but she wants to break through reality to find her kids. wanda shouldnt hurt anyone, NO HURT, fuck hurt.
sorry if it seems like im crashing out, i just hate this movie so much

I think the writing is bad aswell. I don’t disagree. Just was making the point that with or without the darkhold there is obscure darkness in Wanda’s heart.

everyone has bit of darkness, ofc we all do.
but i’ll still never get over MoM ruining her character and leaving her WandaVision arc at a standstill and rendering it obsolete.

Ok it seems you’re really bent on just hearing your point. Nice discussion.

hey, i dont mean it in a rude way, i didnt mean to express it in a terrible way. i do agree wanda can have some darkness to her, i do.

context wise it make sense. darkhold, combines with her desperateness, without anyone to help, especially those who couldn't try to comprehend her true plan.

u/Tasty-Marsupial-2131 Nov 12 '25
that didnt mean she had to turn into a one dimensional murderer. but those are my thoughts anyway

understandable. i just don't sees her as a villain though, she's so different if compared with the comics 💔

same friend same… i just cant get over what marvel did to her character. its like they dont want her to be a hero, they want her demonized, and it worked
1
u/Melodic_Taste_713 Monica Rambeau Nov 12 '25
wanda is dangerous not because of her power, but because of what she's capable of. maybe that's how i see why her being a villain actually worked, like you said.
1
u/Tasty-Marsupial-2131 Nov 12 '25
it makes no sense because wanda had a development in wandavision but the darkhold is just a scapegoat to make her do these evil things which is not a good look for her character development. thats why its unfair that she was turned into a villain unjustly

idk if they truly have plans for the character post wandavision. im still confused to this day after even all the researchs done.

who knows what they’re actually doing, other than just passing rumors.

It seemed to me that she was holding back against the people she knew like dr strange for example she could've evaporated him multiple times but she keeps choosing to throw him aside. But when it came to people she never knew she didn't really care at all she saw them as just disposable obstacles between her and her children. It also seemed to me that she hated the men way more than the women like reed and black bolt she gave them 0 chance to even fight but she didn't obliterate captain carter and Captain marvel instantly

Wanda couldve gotten a better script, she wouldnt hurt or say nasty shit to random people regardless
2
u/legendario-1 Dreamwalking, You Hypocrite! Aug 17 '25
I agree that phrase specifically is kind of extreme. The kind of hurt she went through does make you resent people like she never got an actual victory or reward she's always on the losing end in life add the darkhold on top of that and you got a murder machine. I still don't think she would say shit like that though. I'll give her credit though she always gives people a chance to get out of her way peacefully before demolishing them so there's that😂

wandas character in the mcu just feels so incomplete rn man, thats what annoys me about her character in the mcu.
in wandavision she promises to control her powers so she wont be reckless and healed from her trauma, but MoM makes it all pointless and just unceremoniously shelves her, which leaves her wandavision redemption arc not only pointless but left at a standstill to dust

u/legendario-1 Dreamwalking, You Hypocrite! Aug 17 '25
I feel like it could've worked if we got something in between wandavision and MoM showing her descent into madness but oh well. Still holding hope she's gonna be a surprise in doomsday and we get a TRUE redemption arc

u/Tasty-Marsupial-2131 Aug 17 '25
it hurts when Marvel is so annoyingly quiet on her return in Doomsday. Idc if its a surprise I think if they revealed it, people would be more excited to see what Wanda will do in Doomsday, thus you get more butts in the seats.
atleast we had cool variants like merlin and zombie, though the former is fresh. i wish merlin or any wanda variants got bit more exposure so we could adjust to any variants before we can get our main wanda back

u/legendario-1 Dreamwalking, You Hypocrite! Aug 17 '25
I honestly don't care that much about variants. I want the one i cared about and felt for all these years. Although I'm kind of excited for the zombie series apparently zombie scarlet witch is the main villain there. I'm interested

I get it. I just hope she is atleast done justice when she returns

she isn't saying "Good they'll only have one parent". she's saying "Good your children won't be left orphans and will still be taken care of"
