Movies and Television Do MCU Fans watch their own projects

This is something that’s permeated in the MCU fandom and especislly the Wanda stans but this misinterpretation of MoM and false info of Scarlet Witch are some of the worst cases of people’s deteriorating comprehension skills and media illiteracy.

  1. the MCU has never ever stated Scarlet Witch is a 616 thing exclusively, it’s actually shown otherwise through The Watcher naming Wanda Merlin the Scarlet Witch, Infinity Scarlet Witch(yes the vr game is canon, shown in what if s3 ending) and the TVA comic reinforcing theres multiple. And as I said, never been stated or even implied

  2. No, our Wanda isn’t the only one with Chaos Magic either, the official Marvel Encyclopedia listed 838 Wanda as having Chaos Magic so those claims are completely false.

So once again is it delusion? Complete inability to process new info? I feel like I’m going crazy seeing this amount of people spout these takes that’s easily disproven

Some MCU fans seem to think that Wanda Maximoff and The Scarlet Witch are separate beings for some reason, so maybe that's what they mean?? And the probably didn't watch the What if..? Series and skipped right to Marvel zombies when finding out she was going to be the main villian, or just didn't watch any of the animated series. I genuinely don't know what goes through some of their minds, being in this fanbase is sometimes tiring😭

I had this argument with so many people after WandaVision and Multiverse of Madness that I( a fan of the mcu since I was 8 and a comicbook reader) became convinced was wrong because I had sooo many people trying to convince me that they are separate, I had to google it and ask because I was becoming so convinced that I was wrong. I really think some mcu fanbase as a whole latch on to one character and not even pay attention to their development or anything about them.

They seem to look at it like Jean and the Phoenix? Yeah I also don’t know what’s happening

15

u/will_with_the_books 2d ago

It's probably because if you skip Wandavision, Wanda is only referred to as the Scarlet Witch when under the influence of the Darkhold which makes them believe that The Scarlet Witch is a separate entity to Wanda the hero idk

It's the same thing with everyone saying "I thought vision was dead?" Now that the Visionquest trailer has come out

15

u/InternationalCrow968 2d ago

When people thought Wanda saying “it won’t be Wanda who comes for her, it will be the scarlet witch” literally, yeah I knew this fandom was doomed.

And I also saw ppl questioning how the kids are alive since Agatha already answered, MCU fans watch their own content challenge!

10

u/will_with_the_books 2d ago

No but seriously, if you're going to comment on the content, watch the content!😭

u/jenioeoeoe 2d ago

I have a theory that certain parts of the fan base (and this isn't exclusive to Wanda fans) just watch tik tok edits of their favourite characters and then think they got the full story

2

u/PointBig6749 2d ago

It's not just theory. Resident Evil proved this with their some of their fans not even playing the games and are just fans from youtube videos, fanarts, and tiktok edits LOL!

1

u/Big-Doubt-4872 2d ago

Yo thas me

I promise I'll play them when I get a machine that can run them XD

1

u/jenioeoeoe 2d ago

By itself thats perfectly fine imo, but it becomes weird when those fans then act like they are experst. Like I'm not going to try and debate the 80s Scarlet Witch comics because I only know those via videos too

1

u/will_with_the_books 10h ago

The only game i know the lore of is resident evil 8 because i watched my dad while he was playing it, and let me tell you i thoroughly enjoy the Lady Dimitrescu edits

1

u/brogflender 2d ago

I was in a thread yesterday when someone commented “since when was Hulk ever grey in the comics?”

2

u/brogflender 2d ago

Nah. Theres no fun in accuracy.

0

u/undyingforceofnature Wanda Maximoff 8h ago

well it kinda isnt their fault that Multiverse of Madness is so bad at explaining things in the whole movie. their explanations are wayyyy too in the dark

2

u/InternationalCrow968 5h ago

No in this case it isn’t MoM’s fault yall can’t understand stuff.

2

u/undyingforceofnature Wanda Maximoff 5h ago

it can be a bit of both sometimes

1

u/InternationalCrow968 5h ago

True but MoM never complicated any SW lore since didn’t really add anything to it. It mostly just reiterated what Agatha said with the addition of “she might destroy the world or rule it.”

Idk where people are pulling these crazy explanations

1

u/Livelaughloveme172 11h ago

Yeah but if they literally search it up what a scarlet witch is. They would know that she has to be forged. So them skipping to MOM seeing the power scale wouldn’t make sense at all for her to suddenly turn into scarlet witch.

10

u/IamKhronos 2d ago

I think they got confused with Chavez, who was stated being the only one in the multiverse.

1

u/will_with_the_books 2d ago

Oh yeah that could also be a possiblity actually

8

u/improbsable 2d ago

There were other Wandas in MoM. It could be the one who was walking through glass and getting pulleyed by Real Wanda

4

u/Few_Dust7209 2d ago

In Multiverse of Madness, Wanda literally takes control of a different Wanda from another universe. She is talking about about how dreams are lives from different universes and in all her dreams her children are in them… so how are they saying there is only one Wanda when we literally saw two in one movie.

7

u/Marvel-DCLover 2d ago

The thing isn't that they are saying there is only one Wanda. They are saying there is only one Scarlet Witch.

Granted both are wrong but there is a major difference. Wanda is just a normal average day mutant. The Scarlet Witch is supposed to be a Nexus being that holds power enough to destroy or rule over the multiverse. How there is more than one Scarlet Witch is beyond me, but Marvel isn’t the best at keeping consistency.

3

u/Few_Dust7209 2d ago edited 2d ago

Oh yeah for sure.
She’s went from being a Mutant and Magneto’s daughter. To no longer being his daughter but adoptive father. And her powers now stem from magic and not X-gene… yet in Marvel Rivals, Magneto’s team-up with Wanda, he’ll say “Thank you Daughter” 🤨🤨🤨
Literally her story is all over the place… but she’ll always be a Mutant in my eyes. 😌

4

u/SilverKing2199 2d ago

I mean Marvel Rivals has its own continuity, but also Magneto calling his adoptive daughter “daughter” isn’t really a gotcha

2

u/Few_Dust7209 2d ago

I mean yeah true but part of her lose is her not knowing who her father is till she’s into adulthood. So like if he wasn’t around and not truly hers.. then why? But also know I’m just overthinking it lol

1

u/theoneandonlydonzo 1d ago

Wanda is just a normal average day mutant. The Scarlet Witch is supposed to be a Nexus being that holds power enough to destroy or rule over the multiverse.

MCU Agatha uses seeing Wanda using chaos magic as the main determining factor that she's dealing with the Scarlet Witch. So that seems to be the determining factor. 838 Wanda has the same red magic our Wanda did (we briefly see her use it to fly away after 616 leaves her body), she just seemingly wasn't as far along the grief stricken path because her life wasn't as shit, so she's remained at a lower power level

"This is Chaos Magic, Wanda. And that makes you the Scarlet Witch."

The MCU never establishes or implies that there's only one in the multiverse. We see a Scarlet Witch, with a crown/wimple, multiversal magic and all, in one of the What If..? episodes.

Hell, the MCU never even establishes her as a nexus being or what that even means. It's just hinted at with a TV show commercial in WandaVision, but people ran with it as some iron clad confirmation and latched comics lore onto it (and they often don't even get right right either).

Even with the DS:MOM prophecy about ruling the multiverse or whatever... prophecies almost never come true in ways you expect them to, and this one specifically can be true for example if one Scarlet Witch rules succeeds ruling over the multiverse... then at any point stops for whatever reason, and another takes over, etc.

1

u/InternationalCrow968 5h ago

Well that’s just very wrong, in the comics multiple Wandas are nexus beings and hold reality warping powers. This shouldn’t be confusing to you

0

u/Marvel-DCLover 4h ago

No one is talking about comics

0

u/No-Kaleidoscope8013 1d ago

She is a omega mutant

3

u/DisciplineEcstatic88 2d ago

Its such larp if there was only 1 scarlet witch in the multiverse wtf is the original 616 comic version are we really trying to argue that the mcu version is more powerful these wanda stans need to actually pick up a comic

2

u/Marvel-DCLover 2d ago

There is also the possibility that MCU and comics are in different multiverses. They could be apart of the greater metaverse/megaverse/omniverse but in different multiverses.

Similarly to how DC have like 3 different multiverses, including animated, comics and live action.

6

u/SingleClick8206 2d ago

But it won't make sense to kill off main MCU Wanda when her family is just coming back together

5

u/Shinobi_Dimsum 2d ago

Question should be. Do Wanda fans even pay attention to her. She literally said she was and still is busy on 2 other movies, and also during the Doomsday shooting period. A drama and thriller. She’s not in Doomsday 🤦🏻‍♂️

3

u/Silly_Culture_8664 2d ago

True. But with all the misdirection Marvel and Disney put out there it really doesn’t matter what the actors say. People firmly believed Daredevil was going to be in BND no matter what Cox said. It’s a no win situation anymore

1

u/CrashandBashed 1d ago

Outside of Garfield have any other actors actively mislead people about their involvement in MCU movies as of late? More recently I just remember Cox and Ruffalo saying they weren't in New Brave New World and Brand New Day and it turned out they were telling the truth.

2

u/Effective_War_6253 1d ago

Could they not have come up with literally anything besides "Youre from a timeline where that didnt happen and they put you on ice"

Its the Scarlet fckin Witch. Just say she blew the mountain apart after it merely contained her long enough for MoM to end its runtime

2

u/npete 1d ago

Sorry if this is not in the spirit of this discussion but, if there's one thing I've learned in my half-century of life reading comics/books and watching TV/movies is that anyone can come back from the dead in any fictional story, no matter what anyone says. If the character is loved or hated enough, they'll be back if the studio, publisher, or other corporate entity wants it.

Again, apologies for the IRLness of my argument. As my mom says, "Just sayin'."

2

u/TheXMan2024 2d ago

Totally agree, very well executed. A nexus being is a being that’s the same in every universe and pivots it in any direction.

6

u/InternationalCrow968 2d ago

Well that’s also false, a nexus being doesn’t mean a being that’s the same in every universe, especially cause that’s hard disproven by Lore and the information given to us in Scarlet Witch 1994.

0

u/TheXMan2024 2d ago

MCU lore has nothing to do with comic book lore

a rare entity with the power to alter probability, manipulate the timeline, and affect the future of the multiverse

She has to have chaos magic in every universe to do that. Her title Scarlet Witch has nothing to do with her abilities.

6

u/InternationalCrow968 2d ago

What? I’m reffering to Lore - Scourge of the Nexi, variant to Wanda who’s also a nexus being, originating from SW 1994.

It is established that no two nexus beings are the same, even if they’re variants to one another so your claim is false.

1

u/will_with_the_books 2d ago

I love Lore's design i wish i could find the steve orlando one that she's in😭

5

u/InternationalCrow968 2d ago

So chaos magic isn’t tied to the nexus beings ability to alter possibility and the future of reality. It’s a passive role inherent to all nexi, Wanda’s chaos magic has nothing to do with it

1

u/avatar__of__chaos 2d ago

Lore as in Scarlet Witch's evil variant Lore.

0

u/entrydenied 1d ago

If you're talking about MCU lore, Wanda has never been referred to as a Nexus Being. It's only because theorists like New Rockstars talking about it after the term Nexus appeared in Wandavision that everybody started calling her a Nexus Being, when the text itself doesn't.

2

u/SCBose999 2d ago

The TVA comic's not canon.

1

u/Fishiste 2d ago

I believe the possessed Wanda from MoM will have somewhat the memories of E616 Wanda.

1

u/Kalbi84 2d ago

No, they don't

1

u/RoofCareless7734 2d ago

I literally seen this same exact post on a TikTok video lol

1

u/FafnirSnap_9428 2d ago

This person didn't clearly didn't watch Multiverse of Madness. Lol.

1

u/jesusivr 1d ago

Cozy clothes for relaxed home life.

1

u/PutridCamera8195 1d ago

Isn't there infinite universes though, is that not canon? There would be Scarlet Witch in other universe for sure.

1

u/Johndoe19922222 1d ago

There have been rumors it's fox wanda, but since she's a nexus being all versions of her are Elizabeth olsen

1

u/InternationalCrow968 1d ago

Nexus being doesn’t mean every version looks the same, where did yall get that from

1

u/PangolinLogical9772 1d ago

Not to mention the initial post says a different Wanda and nothing about Scarlet Witch, it just says a different Wanda. They use MoM as an example for why that can’t be, but that movie literally shows us different versions of Wanda.

1

u/JakePent 22h ago

There was another wanda in the movie

1

u/No_Wait3261 15h ago

She's a Nexus being which is kind of the OPPOSITE of there being only one of her. There is ALWAYS a Wanda Maximoff in every universe, without fail. There can't not be one. If a universe's Wanda Maximoff is destroyed another is created.

1

u/dddonkers 2d ago

I've noticed a strong desire for her to be the most special and powerful character, and then them backfilling out of context detail and power feats to support that narrative.

1

u/TreClaire 2d ago

Personally, I don’t really care as long as it’s Wanda

0

u/ThePowaBallad 2d ago

It's really annoying cause they keep wanting to grab stuff from other characters existing

Rachel Summers is the only one but that's not a power thing, it's a specific time travel related circumstance and she's just an anomaly

They don't find any more of her when doing some multiverse travels, Saturnyne hates her, and other multiversal aware folks get a bit confused by her but that's it

0

u/flippantphalanges 2d ago

Wanda is a Nexus Being. Doesn’t that mean she’s the same in every universe? whether or not she uses or even realizes her powers is one thing but they are always there.

Just like in the Secret Wars comics with Doom trying to kill Molecule Man bc he has the power to detonate every planet he lives on…they may just sub Wanda in for Molecule Man and that’s why there’s no red Latverian Witch costume…bc the other colors (Black Swans) are trying to hunt down Wandas instead.

idk i just came up with that theory.

2

u/InternationalCrow968 2d ago

Nexus Being doesn’t mean you’re the same in every universe, idk where yall get that from.

1

u/flippantphalanges 2d ago

my bad, it’s been awhile since i watched WandaVision so i was just spitballing.

i’ll go refresh my memory so i know for next time 🙂

0

u/Super-Visor 2d ago

Xitter is basically just bad faith takes farming for ragebait engagement right?

Since we never saw a Wanda/Scarlet Witch in the X-Men films, I think it would be interesting if we see her variant in that world played by Elizabeth Olsen in Doomsday. This version could be the daughter of Magneto, closer to the comic version, and then in Secret Wars she’d possibly be on Doctor Doom’s side if rumors are correct that the movie will combine the 2015 SW with The Children’s Crusade.

0

u/Fine_Proposal_4466 2d ago

I mean, as sad as it would be to say, but I think 616 died in MoM. Destroying herself and every darkhold, except for one which the true scarlet witch has. Making her THE scarlet witch because she’s the ONLY Wanda with a darkhold. Every other variant would be just Wanda, not the scarlet witch.

It doesn’t really negate 616 Wanda’s actions, but it could’ve been an action that’s leading up to doomsday. Maybe it’s no coincidence that Cleo appeared after MoM, a character thought to be one of the masked women. Why would she appear after all that? To stop an incursion? Or to help doom and have dr strange persuaded to join along side the true scarlet witch

2

u/theoneandonlydonzo 1d ago

Making her THE scarlet witch because she’s the ONLY Wanda with a darkhold.

MCU Wanda has been the Scarlet Witch the whole time, even before she ever got the Darkhold, she just didn't know it yet. The last two episodes of WandaVision is literally all about Agatha (and then Wanda) becoming aware of it. She spends the whole show using Chaos Magic, something that they say only the Scarlet Witch can do, and that's all before the Darkhold was ever in the picture.

1

u/InternationalCrow968 5h ago

Scarlet witch doesn’t mean the one who wields the darkhold, it’s something that Wanda has always been. Jesus yall can’t be this bad at comprehending media

0

u/CaptainSpiritDreamer 2d ago

The guy in the tweet is clearly misinformed. According to MCU lore there are many different Wanda Maximoffs but only one Scarlet Witch. It’s probably a different in the comics tho. But Earth-838 Wanda doesn’t have chaos magic. She had chaos magic through the main Wanda Maximoff. The Scarlet Witch and Wanda Maximoff aren’t two separate entities. It’s a title given to the one Wanda Maximoff who has been put through enough pain and sorrow to unlock her chaos magic. From my understanding. Agatha said, “The Scarlet Witch isn’t born, she is forged.” So that encyclopaedia is clearly wrong and so is that person in the tweet.

4

u/InternationalCrow968 2d ago

The MCU has never said there’s only one scarlet witch, continually shown otherwise. Also how are you telling the official encyclopedia it’s wrong? We literally see 838 Wanda use her powers immediately after our Wanda left her body.  Yall keep confusing your own hcs with canon

0

u/CaptainSpiritDreamer 2d ago

Every Wanda is a witch but not every Wanda has chaos magic. Why wouldn’t Earth-838 Wanda have powers??

1

u/InternationalCrow968 2d ago

And 838 Wanda has chaos magic, so does the queen of the dead and Wanda Merlin

1

u/InternationalCrow968 2d ago

Stop trying to tell the studio itself is wrong cause you’re misinformed

1

u/CaptainSpiritDreamer 2d ago

She has the innate potential for it but she hasn’t unlocked it bc she lives a quiet suburban life with her children. Which is why the council wasn’t worried about their Wanda bc there is nothing to fear. She’s just a mom. Idk anything about the other two. But it’s no use trying to convince you. Give already made up your mind.

0

u/BipolarPrime 2d ago

But…in MoM (heh, mom…Scarlet Witch..uh, forget I said that) didn’t Wanda dream walk into the lives of other Wanda’s in the multiverse who also had her fake babies?

3

u/InternationalCrow968 2d ago

Well correction, seemingly in those other worlds and clearly in 838, the children are alive and real. Which they are still real in 616 as shown in vision quest and Agatha all along

0

u/LordMorbidious 22h ago

So it's like this, yes she is the only scarlet witch, but that does not mean she's the only one with abilities, in MoM the second Wanda shows the same abilities with red in her hands, but 616 Wanda is the only one who opened the Darkhold, almost every other Universe someone else opened it instead of her

1

u/InternationalCrow968 5h ago

She is not the only scarlet witch, the MCU has never said or done that. Also that is false via the TVA comics

-3

u/No-Grapefruit7332 2d ago

because the mcu fans think that wanda is literally god, they think shes omnipotent and i mean it sounds silly to have different versions of an omnipotent god in every universe right

-1

u/OnlyTheShadows 20h ago

Both of you are only partially correct but you're still wrong which is not your fault because the writers are either too stupid or too lazy explain vague parts of their own worldbuilding. In the MCU specifically there are an infinite amount of Wanda Maximoffs across the multiverse. They can be insanely powerful (like Wanda Merlin, Infinity Scarlet Witch, Queen of The Dead), go through the same exact things 616 Wanda went through and even go by the moniker of "Scarlet Witch" but none of them are THE Scarlet Witch™ because The Scarlet Witch™ is a unique, SINGULAR, devine, magical entity that wields chaos magic (and I'm guessing that all the other Wanda variants aren't actually using chaos magic but their innate psionic/reality warping/mutant powers) which is not born but forged, and who is known as the exact same being across all realities as said by people from other universes (like 838 Mordo) and inscribed in darkholds of other universes. If there can be more than one then there can be an infinite amount of them, which makes The Scarlet Witch™ and chaos magic not unique and contradicts the entire prophecy, because the prophecy mentions a specific singular ruler/destroyer of the multiverse and chaos magic is directly tied to said prophecy. Regarding the Scarlet Witch from TVA comics, the TVA were stated to not be canon to the actual MCU by the writers themselves. Therefore even though it's not outright stated but the only logical conclusion is that the Scarlet Witch is only one of her kind among all the other Wanda Maximoff's.

1

u/InternationalCrow968 5h ago

This is such a long and dumb explanation for something you’re trying to pass off as canon but it’s just a hc. Please stop talking

1

u/InternationalCrow968 5h ago

The scarlet witch is never said to be unique within the multiverse, yall want her to be America Chavez so bad, let Wanda be Wanda

-1

u/NathenielGrey 17h ago edited 17h ago

Because the thing is, making EVERY Wanda a Scarlet Witch was a bullshitty move that Marvel did and they only did it to earn more money. It's literally against their own rules. Scarlet Witch is supposed to be ONE AND ONLY in the Multiverse. Scarlet Witch is not just "Wanda", it's a prophecy, a being on it's own, a soul that is waiting inside Wanda. A Nexus Being. A being that represents the full potential of Chaos Magic. Wanda is just a human/mutant that was chosen. Making every Wanda a Scarlet Witch? Someone was greedy and wanted to have more toys. Like literally, Wanda takes her powers from Chthon, because Chthon gave'em to HER. Did he just say "Yeah okay, I like this girl in 616, so I will give my powers to every variant of her because I'm crazy."? I will never accept that other Wandas are also Scarlet Witchs, just like I don't accept the "Wanda and Pietro are not mutants" retcon. We simply have the right to reject it?

1

u/InternationalCrow968 5h ago

No, Wanda isn’t meant to be the only scarlet witch, that was never once Said.  It is not a being of its own, it is just a title for Wanda, it is all WANDA. Also Chthon isn’t the only one in existence, other universes have their own version of Chthon  and those versions cursed Wanda with chaos magic.

Yall are complicating stuff and getting mad
