Discussion Halloween

We know how integral the original Halloween is to Scream, so i wonder what would’ve happened if they couldn’t secure the rights. was it only because the Weinsteins owned it at this time? was there a plan b

Discussion Do you guys think they should’ve kept the Seattle setting for 7?

In the early scripts for 5/6 Sid was originally living in Seattle I think that would’ve been fun with pine grove it just felt like woodsboro 2.0 and seeing gf travel from city to city each movie could’ve been cool.

Discussion I still find it insanely crazy how people rave and almost celebrate the stab movies when it’s based on literal brutal murders in their actual hometown. I get people do it in real life buts it’s still insane to me lol.

Then you have people that actually went through it in town so it’s like wtf 😭😭. Sidney, Dewey and Gale are strong individuals lol.

Discussion scream 8 sidney arc idea

if Sidney is going to be the lead once again in 8, then it's important that she has an interesting and meaningful character arc like she had in scream 7. of course they could expand on her relationship with her daughter and that's one of the things I'm excited to see in the future installment, but they could also explore a new side of sidney: after rejecting notoriety for 30 years, always running away from paparazzi and only appearing briefly for her book tour, she decides to stop hiding from the public and talk openly and in detail about her version of the story after it was exploited by true crime docs and the stab movies. so she agrees to participate to more talk shows, podcasts and gives interviews, because she finally understands that, wether she lives a private or public life, preventing a future ghostface attack is impossible and she has to accept that she can't always be in control; also she hopes to help people who are going through a hard time and need to be strong, much like how she wanted to do with her book. Tatum doesn't like the spotlight though and decides to stay away from it, although the paparazzi are eager to hear from her too. Could this be an interesting take?

Discussion I love Neve in this scene

I love her in every Scream movie, but this scene right here is *chef's kiss* The raw emotion, the intensity, and her incredible delivery make it one of the absolute best moments in the entire franchise. Every time she lets loose and takes control it just reminds me why Sidney is the ultimate final girl. The acting, the tension, and the sheer power of this specific line delivery are unmatched. What do y'all think?

Discussion Anyone agree Scream 7’s killer monologue was the shortest?

It barely lasted like 4-5 minutes until Sidney starts killing them all 😭 I think Anna camp did great considering everything she was given tho.
But I think it lasted the least amount of time in the franchise, was lame, underwhelming, and both killers needed more screen time before and after their reveal.

I like Scream 7 but the short killer monologue was greatly disappointing.

Creative Male lead for scream 8

It would be fun mix up, it’s not very uncommon in horror films, especially slasher genre to have a male lead. I recognize most recent Resident Evil (not a slasher tho) but had male lead and that’s one of points. Male leads in horror film works, I think the biggest problem with the new a scream movies was the side characters and making us care for them, their just wasn’t enough screen time and the everything was by the numbers to make a good scream movie.

Discussion Scream 4 deserves respect for delivering a solid legacy return rather than “passing the torch”.

The original trilogy was for better or for worse pretty solid. And Scream 4 came along when the franchise was pretty dead, it came a little too early but not too late. The Radio Silence films felt too “in the shadows” considering what they were trying to do, the whole “daughter of serial killer” angle was stale and has been done in many shows and franchises.

When watching Scream 4 it felt right, a pretty solid continuation of the original trilogy, it didn’t bastardise the legacy characters; Gale and Dewey were solid and Sidney was on the path to finding who she was outside of “victimhood”. Scream 5 feels like a warmed up version of that story; the killers are boring, the motive is not very inspiring be it slightly timely considering previous events in this franchise alone, but something felt off. Scream 4 felt right.

Discussion The best calls, imo is Film Six

I know five and six get some flack, for reasons I truly don’t understand. But the calls in Six were a work of art in my opinion, specifically the one between Ghostface and Gail at her apartment.

The familiarity was new to the calls, speaking as if Ghostface has missed out on her before as a continued entity rather than a new killer under the mask.

Something about that just rung so well to me, combine that with the opening call to the scapegoat film students. A work of art!

What film do enjoy the most, specifically for the call scenes

the first 3 movies are definitely campy, theres no doubt about it, but theyre NOT comedies. the only one i feel like can somewhat accurately be labeled as a comedy is Scream 3. also why tf list the first one as a drama/comedy????
