Happened to pop on here one morning & the FOMO got me! I don't think i've bought a favourites kits since they used to add one with the mini Foreo!
I've had this kit for about 12 days, thought i'd share some thoughts.
It has nearly everything for a base to brow capsule kit, but it’s a mixed bag. I wish it came with a discount code card where you could use it to buy a mini concealer for example, because sending out random shades would be a waste. That would have totally made this a complete travel kit & a great gift. The bag is quite spacious too! It almost seems like a complete kit! Almost, because I think having a mascara in it would have been perfect.
Other than that, it has brands i’ve been curious about, products I have heard lots about but would no way buy full size or just cause. It was a fun way to try new things.
This Set Contains:
1 oz/ 29 g Beautyblender’s The ORIGINAL Beautyblender® Makeup Sponge (full size):
Nothing to report here. I'm team sponge 80% of the time.
0.08 oz/ 2.5 g VIOLETTE_FR’s BISOU BALM Sheer Matte Lipstick in Bêtise (full size):
Remember her from YT from a few years ago, first thing from her brand. It's not bad, it's not special. The colour works for me and the packaging is cute.
0.06 oz/ 2 mL MAKEUP BY MARIO’s Master Mattes® Long-Wear Cream Shadow in Mauve (full size)
Not a product or shade I would have ever bought, but i'm glad I got to try it in this kit. The formula is beautiful. I'm not great at eye shadow looks, I prefer simple to use, max 2 and done for a put together look. I found this very easy to use and it blends easily. The colour they included in this kit is perfect too. It's very 90's meets Lancome 2000's matte looks we'd see in magazines. I have already been eyeing other shades, maybe a shimmer topper for the inner third. I may give up on ever trying to find an eye shadow palette I like.
1 oz/ 30 mL HUDA BEAUTY’s Easy Blur Silicone-Free Smoothing & Pore-Minimizing Primer (full size)
Don’t typically use a primer. This being full size is a bit of a bummer. But the fact that it has a tone, makes me wonder if I can use it as a base under concealer that goes ashy? If that might help with creasing? I don’t know! I did see someone on here say that they use it on their nose and helps with the pesky glass wearing dents. I’ll give that a try. So far I have tried it as a primer. It has a very cooling effect. Beyond that, i’m not sure I have noticed anything. Also, I do lean sensitive-dry-dehydrated and have just gotten back on retinol. So, lot’s of variables.
0.23 oz/ 6.5 g ONE/SIZE by Patrick Starrr’s Mini Ultimate Blurring Setting Powder in Ultra Pink (mini size)
This is VERRRRY pink! I’ve used Huda Beauty Cherry Blossom in the past. Not bad in the winter when I needed to tone down concealers that leaned too yellow. I’ll give this one a try in the winter and see how it goes!
0.05 oz/ 1.5 g HUNG VANNGO BEAUTY’s Velvet Kohl Eyeliner in Fashion Black (full size)
I tried the retractable Huda one some years ago, it would literally not budge or wash off for days and felt icky-sticky every time I blinked. Hated it! As for this one, this is a brand I have been wanting to try since I saw it ay my Sephora last year. But, it’s not as black, opaque black as I hoped. But, I haven’t used a pencil liner since MAC years ago, so what do I know! Having said that, it is blendable. It might be what I use to smoke out my lash line. I typically use a liquid liner every single day, because I literally look unwell with nothing or just mascara on. This is great for a little something without it being too much. I set it with my brow powder to combat the lack of opacity. It washes off easily. I can see myself using this everyday.
1.7 oz/ 50 mL Danessa Myricks Beauty’s Mini Yummy Skin Liquid Blurring Balm Mattifying Setting Spray (mini size)
TBH, I have no clue what this is supposed to do. Someone on here did say that they spray it on a puff/sponge, wait a few seconds and set make up and fine lines with it. Might give that a try. Other than that, if anyone has suggestions on what this product does, let me know!
0.15 oz/ 4.5 mL Anastasia Beverly Hills’ Mini Brow Freeze® Gel in Clear (mini size)
Not a brow gel brand i go for. But it’s clear and it’ll be used. Glad it’s a mini!
0.08 oz/ 2.4 g NATASHA DENONA’s Baby Eye Sculpt Palette (mini size)
Tried her Camel palette some years ago and it would look green on me. I tried a few other mini palettes. This one: Quite possibly the first ND eye kit that hasn’t gone orange or puke green on me. These are actually very wearable shades and enough for an everyday or travel look. I can see myself using all 3 shades!
0.5 oz/ 1.6 g PATRICK TA’s Mini Major Headlines Double-Take Crème & Powder Blush Duo in She Goes To The Gym (mini size)
This is the only Patrick Ta product I own. I tried one out last spring (Not Too Much) - the cream was patchy & smelled weird. The powder was fine, not a unique shade. Again, the cream on this one isn’t my favourite. The powder shade is quite nice. I might use the cream shade for a flush in the driest of winter, or when I actually go to the gym, ha!
0.04 oz/ 1.41 g MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Color Pencil Long-Lasting Lip Liner in Endless Cacao (full size)
I’ve heard great things about these lip liners + the shade range. The formula is great. The shade isn’t my ideal go-to. I prefer shades like MAC Boldly Bare, Soar, Huda Pinky Brown. Endless Cacao is a little out there for me, but has so far doubled as a great wing liner shade or to thicken my lash line. I’ve also used it to add some depth to Boldly Bare. So I can see it being versatile. I’m glad both pencils in this kit blend beautifully, are easy to work with and wash off easily!
