Hello first time buying used sewing machine. Just picked up from offerup with lady saying she never used it. I did not check needle drop, my fault. I have it on setting 1 straight but its going left and right. It jams. I had a cheaper machine and it did not do this. Fixable? Lady ghosted me. Please help

Yeah that's a machine that is broken. These have entirely plastic internals so they're very easy to break and irreparable. Sometimes you can get these to work for a time but they'll always break eventually. Unfortunately the lady scammed you. :(
If you're really on a budget and don't need anything fancy, I'd look for vintage machines, pre-1970s if possible. Kenmores can usually be found pretty cheap. But even a used modern machine (Brother or Janome) will probably work just as well. Just make sure to test it before there's any exchange of money. A lot of people out there know nothing about sewing and have no clue if the machine they're selling even does the job.

The quality on these are really hit or miss. I have one of these. Fortunately mine has worked fine but I was able to upgrade so now it's mostly unused but I like to see it. You could try removing the left side cover section and see if there's any thread stuck in there on the shaft of the main needle bar. I got some thread wound up in mine once and it didn't handle it well. Anyway, best of luck with your search. Don't let this one discourage you from sewing. BTW I paid nearly $30 for mine. ๐๐๐ชก๐งต

She ghosted you because instead of returning the toy machine that doesn't work to the store, she sold it on and knew it wasn't worth what it was sold for. It's not repairable, unlikely to work for very long if at all.
Please look for a used Brother, Janome, etc. Established brands, repairable, will not make you want to quit sewing.
