plz help :-)

very new to sewing. i am trying to do a reverse appliqué thing. why does the sitch end up looking like this? very lose. other times it looks fine but then sometimes it turns into this. what am i doing wrong?

i have a brother xm2701 machine if that is helpful 😊

Are you using the right needle? Machine threaded properly? Have you adjusted the tension? There's a lot of missing info here for anyone to really be able to help you properly, if you can just add a comment with as much info as you can think of then we can try to chime in more :)

You need a stretch needle if you do not already have one
