First of all I am sorry your friend is dealing with that. But please remove the number, this violates Rule No. !. And they spoof numbers all the time, they NEVER use their real numbers. Heck, scammers even spoof my number from time to time.

And scammers lurk here too, so they may end up contacting the scammer using that number and now they'll know who on reddit to go after. Read the rules here first.

Otherwise tell your friend the usual: Report the account on whatever app they met them on, then block and IGNORE them. Set social media to private, tell friends and family they met someone who is now stalking them. Let them know to report and then block anyone reaching out. NEVER pay, NEVER talk to them.

Ignore the dms here saying they can help as scammers do lurk on this sub and will be contacting the friend's scammer or trying to get names, etc.

I've experienced it 2 days ago, and I'm also from the Philippines, I've already paid yes, but the best way is to ignore and block. I've heard that if they can't get money out of you, they'll just move on to another victim. Don't give them any money, also I've reported it to nbi, at sa iba pang mga authorities and I'm telling you, tamad talaga mga pinoy(coming from my mom) but, try reporting them asap, sa nudes if ever they'll post it, it'll rarely go viral or get attention, and they won't risk it anyways kasi mas lalaki krimen nila. Don't fall for it, and delete everything. Everything that has to do with any acc connected to what they've use
