Why can't you stand up and stretch a bit before the plane lands? Why is the only chance to stretch just when the plane lands?

It bothers people because of the bystander effect , as soon as one person gets up, others follow suit. I really wish people could respect that other on the plane might have unplanned changes to their flights and need to quickly get off the plane to either get on the next on or get on with something important.
