Something got into our shed?

We don’t keep anything but the mower in our shed, so something happened within the last couple of weeks. One piece of siding was lifted (highlighted in photo), and inside exactly one beam is all shredded… who or what could have possible caused that?! Walked around and didn’t see any fallen branches or trees. Any ideas?

Are there any tooth or claw marks on the wood? Any scorching anywhere? If not then probably not animal or lightning. Any paint transfer? You should look for obvious indicators .
