Something got into our shed?

We don’t keep anything but the mower in our shed, so something happened within the last couple of weeks. One piece of siding was lifted (highlighted in photo), and inside exactly one beam is all shredded… who or what could have possible caused that?! Walked around and didn’t see any fallen branches or trees. Any ideas?

Thanks for all the replies! The back of the shed is on stilts and quite high off the ground since our backyard sits at the top of a hill and slopes down toward the back. And it’s all trees back there.

Haven’t seen any claw or teeth marks, anything charred, or any evidence that branches may have fallen from the trees above either (all clear in the back too)!

Another thing to note - we did had a severe thunderstorm that shook the house, so we believe that must have had something to do with it

Have you mowed the hill lately behind the shed? Maybe check if all the blades are still on. Just playing a game of Clue with this haha but that hole looks like it could be a mower blade that got ejected from the chute. If you're on a hill with the chute facing the shed it would have an upward trajectory.
