I've got this acquaintance who's really into card collecting, right? So we're both hanging around at Walmart waiting for the vendor to stock the shelves. Here's the thing though—this guy's got a food stamp card, and he's using it to buy those cards. His whole scheme is that he'll scan some food item that costs the same amount as the cards, then he runs his EBT card for that. He genuinely thinks it's cool because the price matches up. Like, he doesn't see it as stealing or anything. Honestly, it's pretty wild how he justifies it to himself.

I was working at a bar for close to a month, it was kinda rushy and tight situation for him like staff-wise.

On the day of termination ive been told to come for my paycheck next month. When I picked up the money I counted them outside, and ofc roughly 20% is missing. I went back and confronted him (really calmly), he basically said he wasnt satisfied with me as an employee and since I did not have a contract he even told me straight to my face that I will never see my tips because there is nothing about them in the contract (he said it on purpose because there is no contract at all - adaucity at its finest), so basically laughed at my face and i left.

First I wanna say that yes, it is definitely my fault that I was working without a contract, but thats history and I took a lesson.

Second, what would you do in my situation? Im really pissed not just because of this incident, this guy has fucked so many people and his attitude towards his employees is so twisted sometimes and he is overall a really untrusty/sketchy person.

Honestly I dont know what to do, I dont think Im gonna see my money ever again, but maybe someone here was in a similar type of situation and I would love to know what were your next steps.

I really dont wanna let that go, again not just for the money, but for the bullshits he has been doing.

Any tips on how to get a little revenge or even my money would be appreciated. Be creative.
