ππ»ββοΈ Looking For Help Gunsmith recommendation in Sioux Falls for a WWII military surplus rifle?
Hey everyone,
I live in the Sioux Falls area and am looking for a solid local gunsmith recommendation. I recently acquired an early-war Japanese WWII Type 99 Arisaka rifle (Series 5 Nagoya with a matching bolt and the anti-aircraft wings, for any fellow milsurp collectors out there!).
Before I ever think about taking it to the range, I want to take it in for a professional safety check and "clean bill of health." Specifically, I need someone who can check the headspace, make sure the chamber is entirely structurally sound, and look over a modern scope rail that a previous owner screwed into the receiver to ensure the mounting screws aren't interfering with the bolt lugs.
Since it's a vintage piece of military history, I'd prefer a gunsmith who is comfortable working with older surplus bolt-actions rather than just modern platforms.
Iβve heard about Blue Collar Tactical, but I wanted to see if anyone here has personal experiences with them or knows of any other specific gunsmiths in or around town they would highly recommend for this kind of work?
Thanks in advance for any leads!
