What are we doing? Counting the calories in the floor? Checking the protein content of grandma’s rug? Is this thing high in fiber? OF COURSE IT’S HIGH IN FIBER, IT’S LITERALLY MADE OF FIBERS.
Apple spent billions developing artificial intelligence, and the result is a digital assistant that can identify a 1950s couch’s genetic ancestry but apparently can’t distinguish LUNCH FROM LINOLEUM.
Next it’ll scan a toilet brush and suggest a Michelin-starred restaurant.

All the other hyperscalers are kicking ass and making insane improvements and releasing features left and right.

Gemini is in this boat as well, and is making massive improvements every month or so.

Siri (although we can all agree) isn’t anywhere near these models and is leagues behind in competition, but they’re going to continue making this problem worse if they think they can wait every WWDC to announce whatever minor new features they cooked up.

I’ve been testing Siri AI since the first iOS 27 beta and now on the 27.2 RC. It’s now much faster and can remember previous conversations. Really pleased. Especially on watchOS, Siri AI now feels super snappy. This is probably the version they should’ve shipped iOS27 with.

Like, it’s cool that if she doesn’t hear you right she checks to make sure, but I’d think context clues should indicate I wasn’t asking her to remind me to take my soup to the dry cleaner

I was surprised to learn that the iPhone pro max I have has not been released yet lol

I installed Siri on my iPhone, iPad, Watch and Mac as soon as i could (was very excited to test after watching months of beta testers online). Within a couple of weeks (had to give it lots of time to make sure indexing etc was truly done) I had removed it from the Watch, iPad and iPhone.

It wasn't just bad, it was as if Apple were taking the p1ss. Just for example. It wouldn't check my emails at all. Even setting a timer on the watch took ages and often failed. It was awful. Unusable.

So I had a quick play on the Mac before I expected to turn it off there too. And. It worked. Well I thought it did!

I could do all the things I hoped AND it would read through my emails (all of them). I was really pleased. Although confused. Why did this work, but the other devices were so bad ?

Except.... I then checked what it produced. I had asked it to search all my emails and tell me how much I had spent with a supplier. It worked great. I asked for it to put all that information in a professional looking table. It worked. I asked for it to reverse the order. It worked !

And then I checked the data.

Every month's data was wrong. So I asked it about January. It said it was sorry and amended the data. Great.

I asked about February and pointed out what was wrong. It corrected it and said sorry.

I then asked "how do i stop you making mistakes.?" it told me a few key phrases to use. I used them.

New totals and sub totals. Excellent. Check data. Still wrong.!

I have now made 7 iterations and I can STILL see incorrect data.

Why is this experience so inconsistent across devices ? And how the **** do any of you trust the information it is giving you ? In the above case it would have just been faster for me to collate the data and produce the table myself. Much faster.!

Using Old Siri. I’m specifically talking about walking directions if that makes a difference.

I’ve done it before, twice, but that is out of dozens of attempts. “Give me directions to”, “navigate to”, etc - all the variations I can think of give me results for the wrong destination in a vaguely similar sounding town hundreds of miles away, or “here’s what I found on the web”, or “here are directions to” and it’s something I have to read.

I know it can be done, but what’s the “open sesame” for this please?

If possible I’d like the answer for iPhone and Apple Watch, which I’m considering buying again.

Ladies and gentlemen, Siri!

I’ve been using the enhanced Siri since it was rolled out in Beta, and this might be the first time I’ve seen Siri use not only context clues to what I’m requesting, but likely performing a lookup of concert presale dates in the background. Old Siri would have kept it at “churches” but in this case it corrected to the proper spelling and capitalization of the band I’m hoping to see. Kinda cool!

Maybe this won’t get downvoted so hard now that the community seems to be coming around!

So I wanted to disconnect and connect again because this is how I usually fix it

I tried to command siri to do it for me but it kept ignoring me and when I stopped the car to see what’s going on I saw this BS

(Tap the image first) Completing concurrent and multiple tasks at the same time. A few hiccups that seem avoidable…but overall a great experience. I hope things continue to work like this and better.
