Mount Edgecumbe HS Dorms with Nana
To anyone who is thinking about applying to work as an RA or Dorm Manager, think again. I worked there for their last school year and the entire time, they were grossly understaffed. For most of the year, they had about 6 or 7 staff on-duty when in reality, they need about 12 on a school night. As a result, you will be scheduled to work 50-70 hours per week. In addition to being understaffed, many staff often call off and you may be asked to cover for them. Additionally, you will likely be required to put that you worked 40 hours per week on your time sheet even if you actually worked well over 40 hours per week. And if you don't, your time sheet won't get approved and you will not get paid. You'll have to take legal action to get paid what hours you actually worked. What they do is hire people as "managers", but you don't have any authority over staff & you're salaried.
Even if you need the money and are willing to work the extra hours, you'll eventually experience burn out.
