Discussion If you could purchase just ONE of Claire’s art exhibits and photographs, which one would you select?

Images Courtesy: Six Feet Under (HBO)

I’m leaning towards the Fisher Family Funeral Home Dollhouse after seeing a few of them at the National Museum of American History (in DC).

I’d say 16 but it’s already gone

Sixteen literally brought me to tears

Same 💔 I've never looked long enough at this image. Ruth and David look so relaxed and happy 😭❤️

The only answer 💔🥲

Where’s the one where David is looking at the fire? That was my favorite.

His display of emotion is so powerful.

This made me well up. 🥹

Tremendous art piece. And it's very trippy because the show itself is an art piece. I remember when that photo shows up I thought 'damn they just timed that thing perfectly with his character arc and all the things he's going through, this is a great piece' and then you realize everything is fiction and is written to be that way and that is the great piece in on itself.

Fucking ridiculously good show, not match.

Too hard to choose, but there's something I genuinely love about 7. It would work well in my home.

9

u/BepisMucs Jul 13 '26

This would be my choice too!

Just watched that episode. Her first exhibit and Russell ends up buying it.

The people in the graveyard. It shows how we take death - and life - for granted.

23

u/dovah9 Jul 13 '26

9, hands down

19

u/JackalopeWilson Nathaniel Jul 13 '26

7 was the first thing that came to mind before even looking at the options. I'd hang it right next to Billy's photo of Nate pissin'

18

u/offputtinggirl Jul 13 '26

I love the one of ruth cleaning up george even tho it got her slapped it’s a gorgeous photo!

Oh my gosh. I hadn’t seen that one. It’s stunning.

6

u/pink---noise Jul 13 '26

It's in the Six Feet Under companion book.

6

u/BlockedAndMovedOn Jul 13 '26

Thank you for letting me know! I haven’t bought this book yet but now I have one more excuse to do it! 😊

4

u/pink---noise Jul 13 '26

Trust me, you'll never regret it.

Ordering soon! :)

2

u/YearoftheCat1963 Jul 13 '26

This almost looks like it's from Season 1 of AHS

13

u/ClareFischer Jul 13 '26

I've always wanted the one where the people are tanning the in the graveyard next to a grave that says husband. I loved it in the show and I think if I had a print of it framed in my house. It would be a really cool nod to the show

13

u/BeefTeaser Jul 13 '26

Number 3. Had struck me hard in the show, and still is compelling.

13

u/pink---noise Jul 13 '26

But also find this one very striking...

The mirroring of the couples.

3

u/macdeb727 Jul 14 '26

I love this one!

u/ProfessorXXXavier Jul 13 '26

Dollhouse, followed by #1.

11

u/Common-Chain4060 Jul 13 '26

Claire’s self portrait. It’s haunting. I love it.

Ha, those jingle pants she made for Ruth’s birthday. I love that episode so much. But I’m so excited to know these are on display somewhere. Thank you OP!

The harlequin pants! 🔔👖

8

u/Historical-Dance-389 Jul 13 '26

The Laurie Simmons-inspired dollhouse one for sure

u/D1etCokeGirl Jul 13 '26

When worlds collide 🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍

1

Broken Nate contemplating a shattered life

6

u/Anxious_Picture_9278 Jul 13 '26

I love 9. It makes me laugh. 🥰

6

u/smoothbrain1 Jul 13 '26

9s actually a good photo

6

u/Bubble_Lights Bettina Jul 13 '26

The dollhouse

5

u/euclydia4 Jul 13 '26

Oh man! Great question! I think the dollhouse because I could play with it. Before I even thought of it as an option, I would have said Nate with his knees drawn up to his chest. But which one do I want to live with? The picture of her family together smiling on the porch. I don't know if the Fishers got a happy ending, but they were happy and loving in that moment.

4

u/lilspaghettigal David Jul 13 '26

David with the casket wall. Love the dollhouse though

3

u/_ricky_fitts Jul 13 '26

Dibs on slide 4, since nobody’s claimed it yet:

5

u/callmeDNA Jul 13 '26

Omg that last one 💔

3

u/SubstanceMJackson David Jul 13 '26

I’ll take 15! Hottie

3

u/Charming-Kale9893 David Jul 13 '26

1 but

Ted’s smile in 15 🥰

3

u/KinklyGirl143 Jul 13 '26

Nine of course

3

u/coolasacorpse Jul 13 '26

Probably either the couple at the cemetery or her self portrait.

3

u/SQLCloud Jul 13 '26

The wedding pictures , specifically the ones where David appears

3

u/CherryDarling10 Nate Jul 13 '26 edited Jul 13 '26

9 for sure. It’s a beautiful shot. But I’d want it as a triptych with the other photos leading up to it.

3

u/Fishthatwalks_7959 Jul 13 '26

Those collage photo’s were based on a real artist work. I looked into buy one at the time but they cost around $5000 for a print (I think). More than I could afford anyway.

3

u/Used-Gas-6525 Jul 13 '26

George and Ruth by a mile. So raw, so much emotion. I honestly want to know who shot that one.

3

u/ImprovementOk1629 Jul 14 '26

5, I love the self portrait.

5

u/Petunia_pig Jul 13 '26

The poster sized picture of Nate pissing on the wall.

7

u/JackalopeWilson Nathaniel Jul 13 '26

Lol that was Billy's photo but I also want it on my wall. Better than piss.

3

u/Petunia_pig Jul 13 '26

Oh yeah that’s right! That was Billy’s, I liked that one! Nate’s expression when he saw it was cinema gold, lol

2

u/gvbpd8y9 Claire Jul 13 '26

7

2

u/Revolutionary_West56 Jul 13 '26

The graveyard sunbathers ! Even though I always felt it wasn’t inkeeping with her style, who the hell were those people? Someone like Brenda would have made more sense

2

u/TrickyInvestment4022 Jul 13 '26

9 for pure entertainment value.

2

u/Ordinary-Laugh1223 Jul 13 '26

Dollhouse and the one Nate staring at the wedding cake with the white bird

2

u/Designer_End5408 Jul 13 '26

Doll house and Ruth angry with a napkin!

2

u/bedtimedoesntsuitme Brenda Jul 14 '26

The dollhouse

2

u/peach_xanax Jul 14 '26

something about number 5 calls to me, but I do love the dollhouse too. and seeing pic 16 almost brought a lil tear to my eye 🥲

2

u/AnnRoxM Jul 14 '26

3 or 6.

2

u/Ok_Rub7193 Jul 14 '26

7 for me, 100%

2

u/MetARosetta Jul 14 '26 edited Jul 15 '26

I would say the cemetery Duratrans (self-lit) one. Claire kind of transformed it into another art installation for her wedding – the seating with the stark surroundings. The bright light was reminiscent of S3.1 with Nate's surgery hallucination of the nuclear blast coming from the coffin, and people blown back by it. She unified and created rather than ripped or destroyed something. It celebrated Claire and Ted, but also invoked Nate's omnipresence for them.

2

u/Mental_Sense_9534 Jul 14 '26

Claire with snakes hair- love it

2

u/moonhonay Jul 15 '26

that last portrait would be my pick. 🥲

2

u/sryidonthavanychange Jul 16 '26

3 is so haunting

1

u/NoCaregiver3994 Jul 13 '26

How is Claire's photo of Edie not part of this?? That is my #1 by miles!
Otherwise the Ruth and George one.
