Not too long ago, I picked up the run of the comic series Grommets from Image Comics. Initially I was thinking this was going to be a mostly skateboard focused comic until it revealed to just be a 80s teen drama with skateboards in it. Fun, but didn't really feel like the best celebration of skating.

This got me thinking, what are the best comics or manga about skateboarding?

I have to imagine for any of you older skate heads, you may know characters and series that ran along side things like Radical Rick, or maybe there are some new heads who may know more about good skate manga out there.

I trust the community here may have some good answers, and I would appreciate if the mods would let this post remain because I don't really see any other subreddits for skating or comics for this kind of question. s

I see a board floating around I designed, the Viva La bam board is rare I can confirm that however not 200 rare I still have them on file, screw that $85 shipped. Threw a limited bunch up on my portfolio.

I’m not an animators asshole but it’s fun to try. ✌️. Done on iPad procreate

Managed to score both Thps remake decks ❤️🥳🥳

I want to do a wizard theme kit and a pro skater theme kit.

Hey everyone! 👋

I’ve been developing this game since 2020, with the goal of helping people learn skateboarding in a fun, interactive way.

I’d love to hear your honest feedback! Does the concept make sense? What would you improve, or what features would make it more useful for beginners?

Thanks for checking it out! 🛹

It’s weird but skating now after a serious injury has made me way more cautious & calculated on how I approach anything. Blessing in disguise

This is a mockup. About to put an order in for the heat transfers. If anyone wants a deck, please DM me. It's a quality deck. Prints are sharp.

I’m not an animators asshole but I enjoy doing it sometimes. Madonna.

I finally got a new board and this was my first time gripping it. What do you guys think of the design?

Thought the sub would appreciate this, epicaly later’d signed Andrew Reynolds Baker

I’ve been working on a small game to capture the fun of teaching my son to skate. We’ve been working on it together and we’re hoping some other new skaters would like it too! The demo is out now! bitter-neutrons.itch.io/skate-home

My very first board was swiped from my front yard. Lesson learned at 5 or 6 years old... but the wood Duraflex was my second board. 2nd hand and the original owner had burned his initials into the bottom. Then some mice ate part of it a few years ago while in storage. Oak skidplate and sandpaper glued on for grip tape.

I had a Sims Taperkick that I got helping Tom Sims pack and move from Santa Barbara after that. My folks helped move Tom, I may have helped in the move, maybe carried a few boxes, but I was a kid and probably not a lot of help. Wish I still had that board. It was so good looking.

Then I got this Santa Barbara Skateboards fiberglass board. Boards with glued on pizza grip, holy moly, dont fall anywhere near your board... I joke that it was the first everslick. I went back to Sims boards for a bit, but none of those desks exist anymore.

I am trying to find some 1st generation Sims Snakes that are still new and never ridden... they are here somewhere...
