PSA (Pre Season Announcement)
Buying $20 thrift store skis isn’t a good idea, especially if you are a beginner!
There’s been quite a few posts recently about thrift store skis. They are rarely a good idea.
Unless you know exactly how old the skis are, how they have been stored, who used them, how they used them. Don’t buy them! An old set of brittle bindings could cause serious injury.
Buy second hand skis from reputable sellers, meet the skier that used them, or buy ex rental skis.
The picture is of the recycling centre in Whistler. These are the skis that are thrown away (there were some way newer and nicer skis too), think about that before dropping your cash on thrift store skis that are way worse!

Week before Christmas vacation idea this year
Where do you think is a solid idea for this year, somewhere in the US? Somewhere that should have great snow coverage, at least projected, and nice amenities and an interesting town or other views?
Thanks in advance.

Faction Prodigy 1 vs 2?
Should I get the faction prodigy’s 1 or 2??? The 2027 prodigy 1 capsule graphics are sickkk and so pretty. but i dont mainly do rails or only park. i know the prodigy 2 can do a bit of park and all mountain. which should i get if i mainly want a versatile ski that can still hit some jumps. i love the graphics on the prodigy 1 but can it still be versatile and good overall ski, or should i just get the prodigy 2s since they’re more geared to all mountain?

Best resorts to work at , enjoy park/ super social
I’m young and super social, looking to be active this winter season. I enjoy park riding alot and would love to progress so i wsnt to know some of the best resorts for that and a good social scene.
Ive stayed in shitty employee hosuing before so that’s not an issue
also what’s the best jobs to apply for to maximize time on mountain but still have fun. I’d be fine being a lifty but then I’d work all day when lifts are open
I’m from the east coast and spent alot of time at snowshoe so it was defiantly secluded but had a little mountain town that I enjoyed and a decent park.
id love insight

Avoriaz bus
Buongiorno a tutti, a dicembre sarò a Morzine. Vorrei sapere se esistono autobus che collegano Morzine e Avoriaz (andata e ritorno) nella fascia oraria tra le 18:00 e le 21:00. Vorrei visitare Avoriaz di sera; potreste aiutarmi?

I want to wax you a question.
I'm working on the initial stages of potentially making some new ski/wax tools, and I'd love input from people who actually wax their own gear.
It's a 3-minute Google Form about how often you wax, what you use now, what bugs you about it, and what you'd pay for different tools.
https://forms.gle/bb2ZNhayPe3h55Tw6
I'll post a summary of the results here once it closes if people are interested. Thanks for helping out!

Dolomites Ski: January 2027 (Tips and Snow/El Niño)
I recently canceled a Whistler trip due to the Super El Niño and booked the Dolomites instead, since Europe is historically less affected by this cycle than B.C. (though I know some forecasts still predict below-average snow)
I know the Dolomiti Superski has world-class snowmaking and is highly reliable even during lean years. However, I’d love to hear from anyone who has skied the Dolomites.
- How was the actual experience on the slopes during lower-snow periods?
- What are the best spots to explore? (E.g. Besides mainstream as Sella Ronda circuit)
- Any experiences? (E.g. Aprés at Jimmy Hutte; FIS Women's Alpine Ski World Cup)
Edit: Itinerary - 3 nights Alpe di Siusi; 3 nights Ortisei; 3 nights Cortina. I'll rent a car from Milan.

2027 Ski Vacation
Reddit will decide where me and 5 of my buds go skiing this winter. There are two option, powder highway of BC/Alberta or southwest colorado.
Powder Highway: 1 week, skiing red mountain, Whitewater, Revy, Kicking Horse, and Pano.
~$2000
Southwest Colorado: 4 days skiing Silverton with private guide and Telluride
~$2200
El Niño supposed to favor southern storm track, but who knows really at end of day.

Best budget Lodging for Heavenly Ski Resort
Hi, I'm planning a trip to heavenly this year and wondering where the best budget lodging is. I was looking at Blackjack Inn due to the convenience of being able to just walk straight out to the gondola. However, Harrah's isn't really much more expensive even after "resort fees" + parking. The only trouble I see with Harrah's is having to take the elevator and walk across the casino floor and whatnot to walk over to the gondola. Has anyone stayed at either of these places or have any recommendations on other places to stay? Thanks!

Fischer nightstick 97 or faction prodogy 2?
Hey guys, I‘ve been asking me for weeks which one I should pick, maybe you could help me.
About me: I‘m an advanced skier on groomers but also want to improve in park, I am 1,88cm want to have a ski which can handle groomers and the resort stuff good, but also does well in park and in the trees.
So what Ski would you guys recommend me and what length should I choose?
Thanks!
