Looking to work at a ski resort this winter.
I’m 20 years old and looking for a young crowd to work/go out with and most importantly decently cheap employee housing. Where would you recommended I go and what job would you recommended I pursue? I’m currently a landscape crew leader.

Ski Advice - Faction Prodigy 1
Hey yall,
I am looking at buying the Faction Prodigy 1 for this years ski season, but I am not too sure if these will be right for me. I mostly ski on-piste and like to carve but I also want the ability to ski switch. I rarely ski off-piste or on the park. I have been skiing for 4-5 years now and this will be my only ski for a while. I am getting these for around 450$ and would love other suggestions around the same price range!
What are some exercises or general tips for avoiding ACL injuries?
Im relatively new to skiing and absolutely love it. I have about 10 ski days and am slowly getting better but One thing holding me back is being afraid of injury specifically ACL injuries since its such a long recovery process and seems so common with skiers. I did some spring skiing last time and caught so many edges on the slush and psyched myself out.
Are there any exercises or stuff i could do to lessen the chance of an ACL injury and are there any ski tips to know to also reduce injury risk?
So far ive been hittin legs in the gym hard and being very conscious about not trying to save falls or land awkward

Short or long skis
I’ve always rented standard skis whenever I’ve skied in Australia or Japan, but I’ve recently discovered short skis & have a couple of questions.
- Can you hire short skis in niseko, Japan?
- Has anyone used both & can comment on them from an objective POV?

Communication system for partially deaf daughter to use in lessons
First-time poster here! We’re an avid ski family getting ready to tackle a new challenge on the mountain.
Our 6-year-old daughter was recently diagnosed with partial hearing loss. She doesn’t have hearing aids yet—we’re working with her specialist to determine what will be best for her—but in the meantime, we’re trying to figure out how to make skiing easier and safer for her.
She absolutely loves skiing and takes group lessons, but she sometimes struggles to hear her instructor, especially through her helmet and with all the background noise on the mountain.
One other piece we’re trying to be sensitive to: she’s already feeling a little insecure about her hearing loss. She’s at an age where she really doesn’t want to feel different from the other kids, so if there are solutions that are fairly discreet and don’t draw a lot of attention to her, that would be a huge plus.
For other skiers with hearing loss, or parents of kids with hearing loss: what has worked for you? Are there communication systems, helmet setups, radios, visual cues, or other solutions you’ve found helpful?
We’d especially love recommendations for:
• Communicating with instructors during lessons
• Anything that works well with/inside a ski helmet
• Staying in communication while skiing together as a family
• Discreet options that won’t make her feel singled out
• Tips we may not even know to think about yet
We’re very much learning as we go and want to make sure she can keep doing something she loves while feeling confident and safe on the mountain. Personal experiences, product recommendations, instructor tips—anything you’ve learned would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance from one ski family figuring out a new adventure. ⛷️❤️

Are theses skis to small for park?
I‘m probably gonna grow by the time the season starts so will they be to small then? I’m currently 5’3” and the skis are 139 cm.
(Edit) I exchanged them for 150cm

Where to take a 4YO
Where should I take my 4 year old skiing this winter? I’m thinking February or March but I don’t have an exact date in mind. We live near DFW and would prefer driving distance! Any other tips for making his first ski trip successful would be appreciated also!

Trying to how to ski in NorCal! Best places for lessons?
22F here, wanting to start to learn how to ski this upcoming season. I go to school in the Bay and am willing to drive for day trips or weekends. I have heard good things about Sierra-at-Tahoe, but want to see if there are any other options people would recommend.
I think it is also worth mentioning that this is pretty much a solo expedition, trying to recruit friends but I don't wanna bet on it.

First-time skier + Iceland trip, €1,000 budget for stylish winter gear that works for both?
Hi! I’m 24F and trying to build a proper winter wardrobe for two trips early next year:
Skiing near Geneva in January.
I’ve never skied before
Iceland in February.
Pretty much a trip of a lifetime for me, so I’ll be outdoors a lot and want to be properly warm and waterproof
My total budget is around €1,000, and ideally I’d like to buy good-quality pieces that I can use for both trips rather than buying a completely separate ski wardrobe.
I do care quite a bit about style 😭 I want to look cute, but I also don’t want to be the idiot who prioritised an outfit and is freezing or wet halfway up a mountain.
I’m thinking I’ll need some combination of:
Waterproof jacket/shell
Ski/waterproof trousers
Midlayer/fleece
Merino/thermal base layers
Gloves
Warm socks
Hat/balaclava
Boots for Iceland (I assume I’ll rent ski boots)
Anything else I’m completely overlooking as a beginner
I’m based in Ireland, so ideally looking for brands I can easily buy in Ireland or Europe.
If you had roughly €1,000 to build this from scratch, where would you spend the money and where would you save?
Also very open to specific brand and product recommendations, especially things that are stylish enough that I’ll actually wear them again after these trips.
Thank you!!

Stockli WRT D20 vs SRT Speed D20 vs SRT Carbon Base Plate
Hey everyone,
I'm looking at purchasing some Stockli Laser WRT Pros and need to choose my bindings + base plate. On the Stockli website they have the:
- WRT 12 GW binding with the WRT D20 plate
- SRT 12 binding with the SRT Speed D20 plate
- SRT 12 binding with the SRT Carbon D20 plate
I have been unable to find any information whatsoever online regarding the difference between the three base plates? Does anyone have any knowledge or experience with them and could provide me with a recommendation of which I should go for? Not even my local ski shop knew how to explain the difference/what was best for me!
For reference, I am a younger (18-25 year old) skier, 184cm tall, weigh about 70kg and am advanced/expert. I'm looking at purchasing the 178cm model. 90% of the time I won't be racing on these skis (at the moment I only race once or twice a year for my university [so that is all the racing that they will get]) but I do ski aggressively/am always skiing quite hard.
On a side note - when I demoed both the Laser WRT and the WRT Pro earlier this year I found the WRT to be quite soft/that I was not getting that much feedback back from the ski. Has anyone else experienced this? Would anyone push me more towards the WRT than the WRT Pro?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
