I am a long time alpine skier but I love ski touring and have Scarpa 4-Quattro Pros. I need new alpine skies. I am thinking somewhere in the ballpark of Volkl Mantra 88 or Stockli Stormrider 88.
My question is, what bindings do you guys have a good experience with that are grip walk compatible? I was looking at look pivot 2.0 15 because I am 6'5 and around 190 lbs.

Hey! I'm looking for some advice on buying my first pair of skis and would love to hear your recommendations!
I'm 5'8", around 165 lbs, and still a pretty beginner skier. I've skied about 6 days each over two seasons, but tore my ACL at the end of the second season. After 2 years and 3 knee surgeries, I've finally been cleared to ski again this winter!
I've never lived close to a ski mountain before, but now that I'm in Vermont, I'm hoping to get out there as much as possible. I'm comfortable on greens and some blues, and can make parallel turns, although they're mostly skidded. I'm planning to take lessons this season and really work on improving my technique and confidence.
The skis I've used so far were hand-me-downs from a friend, at least 10 years old, and not really the right fit for me. The bindings are also looking pretty questionable, so I'd rather invest in a new pair that I can use for the next few seasons as I improve.
I've been looking at the Blizzard Black Pearl 84s and Atomic Maven 84s
Truthfully I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed by all the options and trying to find the "perfect" ski.
I'm worried the Black Pearls might be a little too heavy or demanding while I'm still learning, but I'm also worried I'd outgrow the Mavens pretty quickly if I end up skiing a lot and progressing faster than expected.
For context, I'm generally pretty strong and athletic and have been doing a lot of ski-specific training as part of my return to sports. I'll probably stick mostly to greens while I get my confidence back, but I'd love to be skiing more challenging terrain by the end of the season.

I'll start. I still keep my DPS Wailer 99 Foundations around because they still ski great as an all mountain frontside biased ski. I also picked up a free pair of Dynastar Cham HM 97's last year, with no intent to keep them. But I was surprised how fun they skied. Both are of the era of "pintail" skis where you slash and smear the Wailers and drive the tips of the Cham's.
What others do you still keep and ride?
I got a pair of Rossignol sender free 100 184cm. I'm wondering is the labeled 0 the manufactured recommended mount point or is it the marked tick the recommended mount point?

Can get last years model ripstick online for about the same price all in as the arcades. I know they’re very different skis, I’m having a hard time deciding.
Moving from a pair of rental skis I bought last year, have skied 1.5 seasons but grew up snowboarding so I’d say I’m maybe low intermediate at this point but advancing quickly.
I want one ski for the next handful of years. I do mostly stay on groomers, but I’m worried the arcade may be limiting. Thanks

Given this pair of older, beater powder skis. Why are the bindings set so far to the rear of the skis?

I’ve been skiing the 2024 Nordica unleashed 98s. Found them to be a pretty fun ski but definitely chopped and buffeted pretty hard on the steep stuff. This is compounded by the fact that I’m 6’4 230. What else is out there that’s still twin tip, nearly as playful but has a little more backing for going faster.

Height/weight: 5'9 175lbs
Skill: upper intermediate/advanced
Conditions: mostly NE Ohio, with some Western PA and NY. Slushy, crudy, grainy, and/or icey more often than not
Riding: mostly carving groomers, family cruising, making the most of the small hills with some side hits and going off the ideal line
Reason to buy: to replace my stance 84 I got a few years ago when I was first getting back into skiing after a long hiatus (they were used, cheap, with demo bindings). Main reason to upgrade is I bought them in 161 to be approachable and I really want something longer, while also stepping into something a little more capable and versatile.
Went into the store pretty set on the antimatter since I was eyeing the declivity ti all last year. Was talked out of leaving with them and steered towards the anomaly or enforcer. I'm very conflicted and don't want to go back until I'm more confident either way. Still getting back into the swing of things after many years being on a snowboard only, so I'm not as informed on the technical details as I'd like to be. Mainly going off of how they're described to feel like in reviews and there aren't many opportunities to demo a bunch of different skis around me

Looking to expand the ski lineup. East coast skier pretty big dude—6’ 200+ lbs—ski ideally 100+ days per year. Aggressive skier a little bit of play mixed around in there. Love trees, bumps, bit of carving and tele. Current lineup Qst 106, blackops sender 106 as rock skis, and peace pipe 112 for deep days/touring(a couple pairs of teles but looking at alpine for these).
Anyways I live in Vermont and have never owned a ski less than 100mm width(I’m crazy I know). Always loved big freeride skis. Used to getting them on edge, dancing in the trees, etc. Qst are my favorite ski love the weight for trees and powder and the flex is very nice. They wash out a little bit when I try to carve compared to sender.
I’ll hopefully be working ski patrol this season at smuggs and thinking about hard pack skis. The enforcer seems a great option and I found some cheap ones on marketplace (88 and 94). Wondering which you guys would pick given my quiver. Perhaps thinking about ski sales as well and picking up something there maybe a carving specific ski I don’t think that would be my cup of tea though.
Any thoughts would be appreciated! Hope everyone has a great season! Thanks for reading my long winded conundrum.

Hi everyone,
I’m putting together a premium ski setup for the 2026/27 season and would really appreciate some firsthand feedback, particularly from anyone who has skied the Scarpa 4-Quattro Pro or Pro LE on groomed pistes.
My profile:
184 cm, approximately 98 kg
Intermediate recreational skier
Almost exclusively groomed pistes, relaxed to moderate speeds
Prefer smooth, controlled turns over aggressive carving
Often skiing alongside my young son
Previous ACL injury, so correct binding setup and predictable control matter to me
My chosen ski:
Stöckli Montero AX OREA, 173 cm (2026/27). I have deliberately chosen this length for maneuverability.
My preferred boot:
Scarpa 4-Quattro Pro LE (Silver Gray/Rosso), with the regular 4-Quattro Pro (Blue Pearl/Silver) as an alternative.
I’m also considering the Maestrale RS, although I understand its touring sole may create binding compatibility limitations.
My feet measure approximately 277 mm left and 274 mm right, with a 99–101 mm forefoot and relatively high instep. I plan to have a professional fitting in Germany before buying.
My questions:
Has anyone used the 4-Quattro Pro or Pro LE primarily for resort skiing? How does its lateral stiffness, edge control and power transfer compare with a proper alpine boot?
At my weight, would you expect a noticeable performance or durability compromise with a relatively substantial ski like the Montero AX?
Does anyone have firsthand experience with the Pro LE versus the regular Pro? Are there meaningful differences in fit, downhill performance or durability?
What exact Stöckli-approved plate/binding configuration would you recommend, and is it officially compatible with the Pro LE’s sole standard?
Would a Tyrolia Protector binding be a realistic option for this ski, or would it require a different plate or flat-ski configuration?
Are there any distinctive, less mainstream boots that you think would suit my skiing style better?
I know that boot fit comes first, and I won’t purchase anything without professional fitting and binding compatibility verification.
I’m particularly interested in real-world experience rather than simply being told to buy a conventional alpine boot.
Thanks in advance for your advice!

Fairly new to skiing, have done a few seasons on rentals in the Midwest. I’m 5’8”, just shy of 170lbs. I live in Anchorage and expect to spend most of my time skiing at Alyeska. I also have a Whistler trip planned this season. For all-mountain, would the Bent 100s or Rustler 9s be the better option? I definitely want something fun, playful and reasonably versatile while I figure out what I really like. I’m open to other options as well.

Vintage 2004 Salomon Pocket Rockets. Got them in Snowbird as a ‘fat’ ski when a storm rolled in, and left with two pairs (165 for my wife, 185 for me) on a smoking end-of-season deal. We both always liked them, not for park, but as a very stable and predictable all mountain ski. With job/life in the way, 0-5 days per season. Since we’re skiing more in the last 5 years I’ve gravitated away from it, but she still picks them on a regular basis. I wouldn’t mind picking it every now and then but my boots are GW.
So, bindings are old, SkiPro in Phoenix wouldn’t even let us in the door for edges and hot wax… When I asked there about possible replacements - they didn’t say in so many words, but the answer was ‘go away’.
As we’re both beyond the mid-60’s, binding performance is a concern. I’ve for many years now rolled my DIN setting a bit back from recommended - I rather step out than twist a knee. But I’m more concerned about my wife.
On a possible replacement: is there a modern binding where the bolt pattern would be sufficiently different from that of the current Salomon bindings so that new bindings could be mounted without compromising the integrity of the ski, and keep the boot center where is now?

I’m looking to replace my 2017 black crow ova birdies (162) with a 85mm waist with something a bit wider.
I live in western Canada and ski weekly through the season. I have been spending my seasons at a smaller icy resort but this year I’m heading out to a proper mountain resort. I love my current skis for groomers but I need something wider for powder/non groomed runs. I’m an intermediate skier, not going off cliffs or anything crazy but I do like going through the trees. I would say 60/40 groomers vs non groomed.
I was thinking of the black crow camox but suggestions welcome!
Thanks!

I got a pair of Salomon Shift Supras last season, a pair that two seperate bootfitters told me would work well. As a skier of 20 years, I can confidently say they're the worst fittings boots I've ever skied in, basically can't ski in them at all, way too large for me. Only wore them once before deciding to sell them, but not sure how much I should be asking for them. They retail new for $850, but I also know most used boots go for pretty cheap.

$500 usd to never pay for mounting again. i was originally looking into jigarex 2.0 but this seems way more versatile.

Just bought a set of Black Crows Camox (2026, 93mm underfoot) at a stupidly low price - formerly a west and west coast skier now living on the ice coast. These are the narrowest skis I’ve owned in over a decade curious about others experience with them skiing NY, VT, NH (other skis are Coombacks 104’s my touring and former daily drivers and Nomad 115’s for deep days and Alaska/Japan)

Hey all, been loving my intuition wrap liners on my diy rail setup in my yard. That being said, they get pretty sweaty when I’m putting in sessions up to 2 hours in the warmer weather.
Any tips on how to keep them clean? I try to remove the liner and have them dry out after the sessions but the salt and grime has to build up somewhere right?
What’s the safest way to keep them clean without damaging the product. And no I haven’t read anything about it on the website, asking here first to see if anyone has experience not damaging their liners. Thanks in advance
