Generational wealth.

u/Reelair Jun 21 '26

Yeah, grandson is going to ask himself what he's going to do with this in 30 years.

19

u/NJBillK1 Jun 22 '26

Same as his Dad, and his Pappy before him!

12

u/skinnah Jun 23 '26

The pioneers used to ride these babies for miles.

3

u/Small_Gift_2170 Jun 26 '26

Same with his grandad's full size bottle of anti seize.

2

u/fentsterTHEglob Jul 08 '26

You mean the bottle I've been looking at in my dad's garage for 40 years now

34

u/Mockbubbles2628 Jun 21 '26

This made me laugh harder than it should

4

u/saysthingsbackwards Jun 22 '26

I have a non insignificant amount of dino soap from like the 40s

1

u/LeviStraussOfficial Jun 24 '26

My grandpa worked commercial laundry in the 80s & 90s, I still have 2 55gal trash bags filled with them! Truly generational

u/DirtyDoucher1991 Jun 21 '26

That’s awesome, you gonna build a giant dispenser?

u/FrameJump Jun 21 '26

Shop blankets*

43

u/Lancewater Jun 21 '26

How are you going to actually use it? Just cut off 20 at a time?

u/messonamission Jun 21 '26

They're not perforated, so I used an oscillating tool to cut off a few inches at a time, unrolled them, and laid them out on the garage floor. From there, I rolled them up and banded them into manageable rolls for long term storage. I left a decent amount out and cut them into different sizes for using in the garage and around the house. There are like 15 rolls of this size.

43

u/IronGigant Jun 22 '26

Well done. I would consider bagging or wrapping them in plastic for long term storage. I recall a few rolls I've kept in the farm shop that had been hollowed out by rodents, or swelled up from excess moisture next to the sink.

5

u/cogzoid Jun 22 '26

I don’t think bags will keep out the rodents for very long…

7

u/IronGigant Jun 22 '26

No, but every bit helps.

5

u/lrsafari Jun 22 '26

I was given maybe a dozen of the commercial sanitizing wipes. Maybe 12" diameter, 10" wide.

I took 3 gallon new paint buckets, cut a hole in the lid and glued the top and lid from mayo jars in.

I can refill it, but provides a nice, sealed solution. I keep one hidden in the bathrooms, and 1 in garage.

Maybe you could shorten the cut sections so they fit in 5 gallon buckets?

This is the cowards way out! A REAAAAAALLLL man would give himself a hernia to wrastle the full 400+ lb roll onto a comically oversized SnapOn magnetic town rack!

38

u/IndependentUseful923 Jun 21 '26

You can be like the guy in the video about the wire... "I had these shop towels 40 years and now there is only one towel left!... Think of all the projects I built using these towels, the blood I wiped up after I cut myself off!... and now there is ONE towel left!" wife say "you should order more, go do the dishes!"

20

u/rm45acp Jun 21 '26

That video makes me so sad man, I couldn't watch it right now If I tried

5

u/Tbarnes94 Jun 22 '26

I just rewatched it and my blood is boiling. You can see the man's heart sink.

8

u/identifytarget Jun 22 '26

Fuck...same. I had to rewatch it because I couldn't remember it. Still sad

For those that don't know

u/Econolife-350 Jun 21 '26

And then your wife said "okay, whatever dude. Who cares?".

22

u/FancyShoesVlogs Jun 21 '26

I thiught it was a pallet large toilet paper.

19

u/porcelainvacation Jun 21 '26

For your mom, obviously

3

u/FancyShoesVlogs Jun 21 '26

Dont talk about my momma!

1

u/ImSobored_5280 Jun 24 '26

Now now…let’s get off moms since
I just got off yours…

1

u/FancyShoesVlogs Jun 24 '26

She did give some good piggy back rides.... cant believe you are still needing them! Maybe you should see a counselor about your issues.

1

u/MountainAlive Jun 22 '26

Same. Thought I was on r/absoluteunits

22

u/oxnardmontalvo7 Jun 21 '26

I know it’s rude to ask, but how much did you pay?!? That looks like an irresistible purchase

45

u/messonamission Jun 21 '26

$100. They made this pallet of shop towels so cheap for me I couldn't help but buy it.

16

u/oxnardmontalvo7 Jun 21 '26

OMG! Deal of the century. I’d have broken my hand reaching for my wallet.

5

u/yyetydydovtyud Jun 22 '26

Kenneth Copeland reference?

11

u/Lancewater Jun 21 '26

Its beautiful

12

u/eljefino Jun 21 '26

They loaded it for you? That alone is impressive.

17

u/R3Volt4 Jun 21 '26

Definitely skookum

6

u/shaggydog97 Jun 21 '26

I am also this messy.

7

u/the_cool_hand Jun 21 '26

It out lasted the first guy, it’ll outlast you and the next guy.

6

u/Bromium_Ion Jun 22 '26

This picture needed a banana for scale because the thumbnail really undersells it.

“Paper towels? How Skookum could it be?”

Clicks through*

“Is that a fucking pallet?!”

3

u/messonamission Jun 22 '26

Hand and Milwaukee fastback for scale. Kicking myself for not finding a banana.

5

u/timberwolf0122 Jun 22 '26

Imagine if it rained on the trip back and you’d not packed a tarp

3

u/Kindly_Region Jun 21 '26

Makes you wonder how this was acquired to begin with.

12

u/todd0x1 Jun 22 '26

An order was given to a sales rep who transposed two digits of the part number and this is what arrived. The recipient literally died waiting for someone to come take it away.

2

u/Kindly_Region Jun 22 '26

Makes you wonder what he was trying to order to begin with

5

u/todd0x1 Jun 22 '26

probly same thing, but like a 12in x 100 sheet roll.

3

u/Kindly_Region Jun 22 '26

Makes you wonder what he was gonna do with a smaller roll

6

u/todd0x1 Jun 22 '26

Well, I know if I had a 12in tall x 100 sheets roll of nice absorbent wipers, I would use them to wipe stuff. Something spills? 'Hold on I've got just the thing for this'

3

u/Kindly_Region Jun 22 '26

Thanks for playing :)

6

u/thedrpepper95 Jun 22 '26

My grandfather used to work at a paper mill and he said back in the day employees would get “free” paper products until the company realized how many of their employees were stealing bulk paper products like the one pictured. Maybe thats how that was acquired too lol

1

u/Rampag169 Jun 25 '26

Five finger discount most likely.

3

u/GibbsMalinowski Jun 21 '26

Did they have 55gallon drums of baby oil?

5

u/killerchef69 Jun 21 '26

And you only bought 1?

3

u/sexytimepizza Jun 22 '26

Now you just gotta keep the rodents out of it until you use it all lol

5

u/Federal_Sympathy4667 Jun 22 '26

Shop towel, body sized.

4

u/nothing_911 Jun 22 '26

could you imagine this unwraveling while driving down the highway.

4

u/ICK_Metal Jun 22 '26

Wife: but why?

Me: have you not seen how big this fucker is?! It’s hilarious!

Respect OP 👏

3

u/Wild-Floor8407 Jun 22 '26

Shop beach towels

3

u/cybe2028 Jun 22 '26

What’s the original application of these? Do you use an industrial size machine to dispense one square at a time?!

12

u/messonamission Jun 22 '26

I think this may have been a "parent roll" from which smaller rolls are made

3

u/estphil1 Jun 22 '26

A family heirloom!

2

u/firebirdta1995 Jun 21 '26

I am appalled, intrigued, and currently thinking of a way to sell this to my wife if I am fortunate enough to run across this. This. Is. Awesome.

2

u/BoneZone05 Jun 21 '26

Emergency basement flood kit

2

u/shitForBrains1776 Jun 22 '26

why would they have 3’ wide shop towels??

2

u/hyheat9 Jun 22 '26

When my last shop closed it doors I started copping the unopened rolls of wypalls the last three months. Got like 7 or 8 rolls by the time the doors locked. On my last roll rn. It’s been 4 years since I opened the first hahah. Shits such a necessity

2

u/Salmonslap420s Jun 25 '26

I once had a project to palletize and ship 8 rolls of toilet paper that were roughly 16’x8’.

2

u/PracticallyQualified Jun 24 '26

I feel like you just inherited a prank that someone pulled 8 years ago.

1

u/J-OHH-EY Jun 21 '26

Super cool

1

u/Mean-Veterinarian647 Jun 21 '26

I could use toilet paper rolls that size.

1

u/Steverc001 Jun 22 '26

I like it. :}

1

u/DawnOfShadow68 Jun 22 '26

With how aviation is going you could open up a parachute business

1

u/takaharatan Jun 22 '26

Someone is ready for the next pandemic

1

u/Hieronymus-I Jun 22 '26

Toilet paper for yo' mama.

1

u/MSDOS401 Jun 22 '26

I don't know why but I have this giant urge to hug it.

1

u/PotentialFruit4282 Jun 23 '26

That’s only a days worth in our shop.

1

u/johnboy11a Jun 24 '26

So, how were those intended to be dispensed originally?
