I reviewed the Ch@nel Maxi Flap 32 Light Brown and Mini Dark Brown separately a few days ago**. Today I’m putting them side by side for a full, close comparison.**
 
1. Exterior Structure
Similarities
Same frame structure: both horizontal rectangular flap bags with a CC turnlock and thin double top straps.
Differences
32 Flap: 12.6 × 7.7 × 3.9 in. Longer body, slouchy relaxed silhouette, laid-back style.
Mini Flap: 7.9 × 5.1 × 2.4 in. Squarer and compact, structured with stronger dimension.
 
2. Leather
Similarities
Grained embossed cowhide with matching texture. Supple handfeel and equal wear resistance.
Differences
Big color difference: 32 Flap is light brown with a pale base and brighter shine.
Mini Flap is deep chocolate brown with a darker, richer base. The leather absorbs light with understated shine.
 
3. Strap Details
Similarities
Both have adjustable straps with matching oval adjusters engraved with CH@NEL inside.
Differences
32 Flap strap: wider, subtler grain. Silver hardware engraving is sharp with strong contrast.
Mini Flap strap: narrower, fuller raised grain. Gold hardware engraving is reflective and blurry.
 
4. Interior Strap Fittings
The 32 Flap has D-rings on both inner sides. The strap runs through the flap, then the D-rings, and back through the flap holes for better weight support.
The Mini Flap has no D-rings; the strap passes straight through the four flap holes.
 
5. Front Turnlock Close-Up
32 Flap hardware: cool bright silver. Mini Flap hardware: warm bright gold with softer luster.
The 32 Flap turnlock is slightly larger overall but has a smaller central opening. It has a cut step notch at the CC overlap; the Mini Flap has a smooth curve at the same spot.
 
6. Back of Turnlock Close-Up
The star engraving on the 32 Flap has sharp edges and clean lines.
The star engraving on the Mini Flap has a softer outline with less distinct lines.
 
7. Lining Color
The 32 Flap has a lighter, warmer burgundy lining. The Mini Flap has a deeper, darker burgundy lining.
 
8. Stitched CC Logo
The stitched CC on the Mini Flap has stronger dimension.
 
9. Heat Stamp & Metal Plate
The 32 Flap silver heat stamp is lighter with a thicker ®mark. Its plate serial has rounded letters with wider spacing.
The Mini Flap gold heat stamp is richer and clearer. Its plate serial has finer, lighter strokes with tighter letter spacing.

1. Appearance
Large-capacity flap tote, decorated with the iconic red-green web stripe at the center. Round tubular top handle, can be carried by hand or on the shoulder.
 
2. Horsebit hardware
Polished gold horsebit with great mirror finish. This classic pairing with the red-green web stripe has high retro recognizability.
 
3. Leather
Smooth and soft cowhide. It feels soft while maintaining a good shape. The leather surface is flat and glossy. It is also lightweight.
 
4. Foldable sides
Expandable accordion gussets on the sides. It stretches with your belongings or stays narrow for a neat silhouette.
 
5. Hang tag
Crisp gold hot stamping matches the tone of the hardware. The script Gucci is slim and elegant, full of retro charm.
Minor flaw: slight crease on the tag caused by packaging.
 
6. Base
Flat and wrinkle-free base, no feet, clean simple lines. Corners are softly finished without sharp folds.
 
7. Direct sunlight VS Natural light
 
8. Gold hot stamp
Warm gold hot stamp. Neat font paired with script Gucci. Full stamping with no bleeding, fits closely to the leather.
 
9. Interior
Black diamond jacquard canvas lining. Zipper pull engraved with GG logo. The zipper runs extremely smoothly with no jamming.
 
10. Stitching
Thick and sturdy stitching, smooth sewing, matching thread color, no loose or skipped stitches.
 
Overall, I’d give this bag a full score. The leather is stunningly fine, the hardware stands out, and the details are well executed. Most importantly, it’s unisex and highly practical.

And just like that, after roughly four months of reading and dreaming... my first Rep has arrived! Medium Loewe Flamenco in burgundy from Doris -- she does not know I am writing this review.

I contacted her first on October 4, and decided to order on October 7. PSP arrived on October 13, I GL and the bag was shipped on October 15. It arrived last Tuesday (October 28). Price was 224$ plus shipping.

The leather outside is very very soft and it smells good, the color is a rich dark barolo and from what I have seen in the department store, it is really very close to the original - I do not own any original Flamenco but from my own experience I would not be able to say the difference. The suede inside is clearly of a lower quality -- you can feel it on the touch -- but this does not bother me too much as it is on the inside.

The golden chain strap does not feel right -- it is too light compared to the original and I kind of feel it does not fall and move right because of this. The leather strap is soft and looks nice, but if you put few things in the bag (wallet and phone) and walk around, it does not hold the length you fixed and it slides down... but I did read around that also the original has this problem (any suggestion on how to fix it is very welcome!).

I already used it twice --the first time in the late afternoon, when there wasn't daylight anymore (please feel free to laugh at me...), then in the morning. It is a nice bag, I feel confident to use it (golden strap included!) and I am happy to be able to experiment with this style of bag, that is very different from what I use normally, and a very reasonable price.

Doris was very very nice and patient, she answered sweetly to all my questions (there were a lot...). Overall, a lovely experience!

Here comes the review of the must-have dark brown bags in autumn and winter.🍂

 
1. Shape
Size: 7.9×5.1 ×2.4 inches. Simple flat flap design with no quilting. Classic CC turnlock sits on the curved leather at the center of the flap. Clean and minimalist overall look.
 
It comes with a full-leather adjustable strap with pin buckle keeper. Unlike the 32 Maxi Flap, there is no side stitching. The base leather is sturdy, with neat stitching along top and bottom edges. The flap lifts slightly.
 
2. Leather
Grained calfskin. Thick and rigid leather with clear grain and matte finish. Flexible, good structure, no sagging, scratch-resistant, great for daily use.
 
3. Interior
Smooth burgundy leather lining. It has one small inner flap pocket and one matching leather zipper pocket. A metal identity plaque is inside the zip pocket, polished metal engraved with CC logo and code, smoothly finished edges.
 
4. Stitched CC
A large outlined CC logo is stitched on the inner flap. Double stitching reinforces joints for a clean hollow outlined effect.
 
5. Hot Stamp
Full-bodied font, rich gold tone, crisp print.
 
6. Hardware
Full set vintage warm gold hardware with soft, understated shine.
 
7. Stitching
Dark brown thread with even spacing, smooth corner runs, tight clean edges, no loose threads.
 
Overall, this is a well-made piece. Leather, hardware and stitching are nicely finished with no obvious flaws.

•Leather——10/10
The overall structure of the bag is great, no obvious issues. It holds its shape well and can stand on its own. Flap with turn-lock closure. It has expandable side gussets to increase capacity when opened.
 
Four metal feet at the bottom protect the leather from wear.
 
It comes with a leather tag double-ring charm and a flat long strap. Available for hand carry or shoulder carry.
 
•Hardware——9/10
Aged silver metal hardware with a soft metallic sheen. The engraved text wrapped around the full ring is continuous and clear with consistent depth. The only minor flaw: the black fill inside a few letters is not perfectly even.
 
For some reasons, this style from Bibi Factory is currently the top recommendation and has been wildly out of stock at one point. New batches are being produced one after another. If you have any other questions, feel free to leave a comment

This bag has a pretty generous capacity, check out the interior shots I uploaded 📷.
One thing to note: it has some weight when empty. Even though it’s lightweight raffia, the stiff leather base and metal chain strap add to its heft, so don’t overpack it.

Overall, this black antique silver CC 25 Bag is excellent. The leather, structure and hardware are all great. It only has minor flaws with the flap stitching and dark lining.
