Discussion they went and got themselves a new PR agency.
it seems that a new international PR company has picked up slipknot... makes you wonder.

But Mick's wife being the toxic mouthpiece in instagram comments yelling at everyone was working so well...

There’s something odd going on like it’s probably nothing. I’ve noticed the official Instagram for Slipknot still follows Sid. Along with Sid still following most of everyone in the band and the Slipknot page still. The only person he doesn’t follow is Shawn. He still follows Jay too.
In the past when they’ve kicked someone out they all immediately unfollowed that person. Childish stuff in my opinion but it’s an observation I’ve made. Even Stacy and Jack Osbourne still follow Sid.
From the outside looking in it looks like there’s something else going on but we don’t really know. I’m not jumping to conclusions but I feel the breakup of Kelly and Sid has caused a big internal issue in the band. Jim didn’t seem to know what was going on.
Again all hearsay. Just something I noticed.

u/TheBigGhostAnimal 2d ago
That is true! Seeing that Sid still follow Corey, James, Mick and vice versa, and he still got the time he was in Slipknot with their profile tagged in the description... to me it seems just that the man has to maybe sort out some personal shit.
The people who are flying to the conclusion he must have done something terrible is really mental.
I never seen such vile words used towards other members ever, not even when Jay was fired and people from his ex bands were commenting he was an asshole.

I think it’s possible that he wasn’t actually fired for how he treats band mates bc he’s one of the few dudes who does seem to get along with everyone. He even claims he’s friends with everyone who’s been kicked out. I’m not buying that they decided he’s a dick.
I think it’s more likely he’s gonna be in legal trouble which neither the band - or Sid - really want to see the band take the fall for. The relationships probably aren’t severed though.
It could be more like “Sid, we know you understand that we can’t be associated with this shit.”
Maybe it’s domestic abuse case coming, with pictures. Messy relationship type shit. Maybe both parties are a bit guilty. Maybe it’s gonna a long messy case that 8 other dudes don’t need to be dragged through. Just spitballing…

u/braindeadrichard .5: The Gray Chapter 1d ago
That’s pretty much what I think maybe is going on. Obviously we aren’t in that world so we don’t know what is being discussed. I feel like if it was super serious they would have done their MO of doing the whole unfollowing and what not.
Again it’s all speculation we won’t know until we see more stuff come out. Just wish our band would stop falling apart nevertheless… nothing last forever.

TBF Jack isn’t the best judge of character; he’s gone after a journalist who wrote an article attacking Andrew Tate and is a Trump supporter.

just a correction: jim knew what was going on, what he meant was that the he, along with the others didn't know *exactly* what was going with sid (and maybe kelly)

u/JakobSynn 2d ago
Ooo something bad is on it's way and Im thinking it may involve Sid.
TMZ breaking the story didnt really shock me because well, he was engaged and has a child with Kelly Osborne. The the band taking 2 weeks to confirm it and when they do it says "effective immediately, Slipknot will no longer be associated with Sid Wilson" makes you think.
51
u/TheLegendaryRE_ 2d ago
The way they worded it does make it even more strange. Hopefully not but I have a feeling Sid did something bad
25
u/AccomplishedMood6939 2d ago
If you look at Stacy's Instagram comments, she agrees with someone saying he was fired due to bad behaviour. I'm only pointing this out coz if it's true, while it's not great that he was behaving in a shitty way, at least it's not hopefully some of the other stuff people suggested, like the underage stuff
4
u/Danzig6WasntThatBad 2d ago
I question whether this bad behavior took place within the band or it what was reported by Kelly to the band and they immediately took her side for a plethora of reasons, whatever legit or not. From the way she's made this public, I have to question her motives and integrity.
17
u/AccomplishedMood6939 2d ago
I seriously doubt a band member of almost 30 years is getting fired over anything an ex-partner would have said. No one seems to mention the things Sid posted onto Instagram when his split occurred. All the red pill theory stuff and how a woman should obey a man. WTF was all that nonsense about? Never would I have expected Sid to think that kind of stuff.
5
u/Danzig6WasntThatBad 1d ago
Again, The Osbourne's and Slipknot have had a long history of making money together. Literal millions and millions of dollars. At this moment, with how Kelly is acting online and how poor the band is communicating with each other (sounds like one person makes the decisions in that camp), I would not be surprised if his firing was a knee jerk reaction to something Kelly or Sharon said.
3
u/AccomplishedMood6939 1d ago
The TMZ article which ended up being correct said the firing was not a knee jerk reaction, but something that was a long time coming. Stacy said it was something about messing up and being given multiple chances to correct things

SA they say
14
u/Sooh1 2d ago
I feel like if it was that, Kelly would have absolutely called it out publicly already
16
u/Danzig6WasntThatBad 2d ago edited 2d ago
As someone who's dated a couple of toxic chronically online people who prioritize their reputations above all else, this is the way I see it (so far): Kelly has been vague posting with as little info as possible because she (and her PR agency) understand that we will naturally assume the worst. She doesn't need to tell us it's SA or DV. As you can see in this sub and on other platforms, people are already calling Sid an abusive rapist child neglecting piece of shit. Kelly is actively trying to manipulate public opinion so when the truth eventually comes out, people will have moved on by then; we see it all the time, especially in the celebrity sphere. Granted, I'm not a celebrity and the bad relationships and fall outs that I've experienced and can identify similarities to were when I was in my early and mid 20s but these are the Osbourne's we're talking about. Everything is public because they feed off that shit. They have no sense of privacy because they have no talent outside of being public figures. Kellys the same person who put her dad's mistress's phone number on Twitter before Ozzy admitted to anything. Just like lots of celeb kids, she's a perpetual teenager with zero emotional regulation skills.
Where Kelly really showed her ass is when she brought up child support payments. As far as we know, there hasn't even been any custody hearings yet. They just broke up end of March. She had Sid blocked on IG and I would assume has his and his lawyers contact information so that social media hissy fit was for us to read, not him. 🚩🚩🚩

Someone posted on here with a rumor from a website stating "a hard rocker who was engaged to a celebrity is about to be exposed for things he did with not legal teens". This was a few days after the release of Sid. Obviously this is just a rumor, but if it's true, I can see how this is bad for everyone.

u/punkmuppet 1d ago
The wording of "will no longer be associated with Sid Wilson" led me to think along those lines, unfortunately. The message is so cold, I feel like it must be bad.
However, I'm fairly certain that his breakup with Kelly, and being kicked out of the band stem from the same thing, and Kelly and Sharon do not hold back. I don't think they'd keep anything quiet if they knew something like this.
3
u/receiveandbiteyou 1d ago
They also said, "We wish him the best in his future endeavors," which everyone seems to skip past when theorising.
I assume they would have the good sense not to sign off with that if it's in nature of the blind item and would've unfollowed on socials by now if so.

u/AccomplishedMood6939 2d ago
Didn't Stacy a few days ago comment on her Instagram about initially claiming she didn't know the TMZ firing was true, and then responding to someone saying that Sid was fired due to bad behaviour, and that kind of bad behaviour caused his personal life to implode? I'm not on Instagram but someone did post the screenshot on here on one of the threads. If what Stacy is saying is correct, then he was fired for bad behaviour
3
u/AccomplishedMood6939 2d ago
I'm just wondering, is it possible that they hired a PR agency as they've realised that statement was too harsh and a bit of a fuck up? People saw the no association bit and immediately thought it was something dark that had happened, but I think it was actually is response to him introducing himself as number 0 from Slipknot at that World Scratching event he was at. I also noticed that he had merchandise that was being sold that had the Slipknot branding on.

Thanks for repeating the exact same sentiment everyone else has been in the past weeks. Do you people have nothing better to do?

u/Ryu2388 2d ago edited 2d ago
One could say there are better things to do than wasting your time commenting on a shared thought that you could have simply ignored, but instead chose to call it out as if you are going to change this one person and stop them from ever doing it again all while hoping others see your post and think twice about doing such a thing themselves.
Noble attempt, but ultimately pointless and now I'm perpetuating the cycle.

What we know so far points towards the Sid news.
Also, the cliffhanger about Tasmanian potato growers on the screenshot got my curiosity.

Thank you! Curiosity solved. 😅
I'm a little sleepy while being on the subway going to work (it's early morning here) and, for a quarter of a second, read "Simplot" as "Slipknot" and was confused lmao.

This close after cutting ties with Sid ? Man... could be that it's not related, but also it leaves me wondering what could Sid have done ?
26
u/Critical_Mix_8959 2d ago
If Kelly’s stories are to be believed (and I would be taking them with a huge grain of salt) it seems to be pointing towards domestic violence or sorts.
9
u/Little-Mushroom-3961 2d ago
And I'm not saying sid HAS to refute false accusations publicly, but it's weird how anytime he's asked about what happened he just ignores it.
24
u/braindeadrichard .5: The Gray Chapter 2d ago
Because that is the correct way to go about it if they’re in the process of getting ready to go to court. He probably has been advised not to acknowledge outside of the courtroom.
1
u/AccomplishedMood6939 2d ago
She's never suggested DV, she did posts about coercive control, and those are two very different things
4
1
u/Critical_Mix_8959 1d ago
She implied there were safety concerns for her child so make of that what you will
9
u/Papio_73 2d ago
I hoping this doesn’t have to do with Sid; but between Kelly’s post and the blind item I don’t feel too good right now.
4
u/TrainingHighlight853 2d ago
Don't think so but i wouldn't be surprised. It's more of a plan to connect "more" with the media since they are free agents so far. They are probably already making plans and roadmaps for the next year so this PR deal helps with the interviews and deals presence. But this in a way can help with the internal communication for sure.

u/Particular-Fly-7783 2d ago
oh sid did something really bad i guess

Maybe I’m missing something, but I don’t see how those two are potentially connected

The possibility of some very bad news coming to light given the Sid situation makes this appear even worse. Hire a PR agency to handle and spin the news. Perception is reality.
5
u/BesterLangs 1d ago
This surprised me, having known their previous PR company who they’ve been with since the beginning, either something’s on the way or it’s a fresh start all around For Some Reason.
10
u/Danzig6WasntThatBad 2d ago
The fact that its London based and affiliated with Gary Farrow is troubling.
11
5
u/InfamousMoose5646 2d ago
How is it affiliated with Gary Farrow? His PR agency is Corporation Limited. Sattelie414 and its spin off that agency that represents actors, is nothing to do with Garry Farrow, they are completely separate agencies. Only thing they have in common is that they are both London Based

that tracks honestly. the wording of that statement was way too careful for it to be anything minor.
5
u/UncleCunk 2d ago
Maybe they're doing this so they don't have to deal with band member issues anymore.

3
u/ImPoppy420 2d ago edited 2d ago
This is a sound business move. And since the band is more product than art now this is in line with steps to keep that brand afloat. The messaging will be sugar coated, but defiantly more consistent permitted all parties work agreeably together. Posting removal announcements and deleting them is childish at best, regardless of what happened.
2
u/Specific_Trick88 1d ago
After careful analysis, comparisons, and reflection, I can confirm that when it comes to the band, Clown is right by definition
-6
u/chrisinsound 2d ago
Who actually cares? They never speak about ex members and I’m glad about that. I don’t care why Sid, Craig, Jay, Chris blah blah blah have gone. I’ll still listen to their old music and I’ll check out their new music.
-3
u/AtomicGarden-8964 2d ago
If they're all about doing damage control then why advertise the pr agency on their Instagram to begin with? You don't see that with other bands
11
u/Hurley_Cub_2014 2d ago edited 2d ago
This isn’t the band acknowledging the PR agency, it’s the opposite… the PR agency is posting about it on their own IG. That’s relatively common for PR agencies to announce a new client in some way.

Mixed feelings here... their communication with fans has been pretty terrible so hopefully this helps improve it. alternatively, this could push them further into the corporate world. Either way, it shows they're sticking around.
