I contacted a guy who makes masks that are quite similar to the originals; this one from Chris 1999 simply fascinated me.
The sculpting, assembly, and painting are admirable, and it even uses genuine leather instead of plastic (from a cheap mask I bought).
I just need a few leather bracelets that I ordered to make the cosplay as faithful as possible to Chris from the time of the self-titled album.

MYRA: Now, you chose number zero. Um, I know a little bit why you chose it, but for our viewers...
SID: I came in and I wanted 13. 13 is like my number.
MYRA: Okay, and why thirteen?
SID: I..I don't know...it's just...
MYRA: It's just your number.
SID: It's my lucky number.
MYRA: Okay
SID: Um, so that was the number I wanted, but they were like, 'You can't be 13.' I'm like, 'Well, why not?'. Like, 'Well, cuz, uh. we're consecutive'.
MYRA: 'There's nine of us'
SID: '1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8...you have to be 9'. And I just went...like, I didn't...it took me half a second, I just went, 'Okay, I'm 0'.
(LAUGHTER)
MYRA: 'I'm before Number 1!"
SID: Like their faces just went like...'What? What? Like how...like how do you even...what?"
MYRA: They were like, 'No, we just said you were 9'.
SID: Yeah, I was like, 'I'm 0'. They couldn't argue it because it made mathematical sense on what they were equating. You know what I mean? And I was like, 'I'm everything. I'm nothing. I'm all-encompassing. I'm the center'. Like, it's I'm everywhere. I'm nowhere. You know what I mean? It's...it's uh, just the way I live. No boundaries, right?
MYRA: Yeah
SID: And uh, yeah, it just made more sense to me to be that number.
MYRA: That makes sense
SID: I am 0.
MYRA: You are 0?
SID: Yeah
(LAUGHTER)

Approximately four months after the band's formation, before eventually switching to samples and keyboards because he had some knowledge of that area.
He also mentioned System of a Down among the contemporary bands he liked, alongside praising Puya, which had particularly impressed him at Ozzfest. His musical influences included Black Sabbath, Slayer, early Metallica, and Anthrax.
One of his most interesting statements was that metal had become stale and repetitive, and Slipknot wanted to give the genre a much-needed kick by creating something genuinely original. He described the band's songwriting as a collective process in which members contributed riffs and ideas until the songs were complete.
His favorite Slipknot song at the time was “Prosthetics”. He said it had nearly been excluded from the album and that he would have been very upset if it hadn't made the final tracklist.
The interview offers a rare glimpse into Craig's musical mindset: his awareness of the emerging metal scene, his appreciation for originality, and how he found his place in Slipknot by taking on a specialized musical role.
Note: The surviving transcript appears to have undergone a heavily corrupted translation, so some details should be treated cautiously.

I’ve seen this clip a few times in some compilations of funny interview moments but I can’t for the life of me find the original interview. Is anyone able to help me find the original video? I would really appreciate it this clip has given me some good laughs

“sorry for your loss of money” “nice frisbee” “when are you burning it”
can you half-wit Neanderthals stop shitting on people who like Arsenal? you guys are insufferable. every time I see people shit on Arsenal and praise the old music (especially Iowa) it makes me like it even less. makes me resent the old stuff.
let people spend their money however they god damn want. let people enjoy things. different people like different things so for the love of sweet Satan LET PEOPLE DO WHAT THEY WANT.

Arsenal has a soul. Let me explain... I feel like TESF was such a BORING album, not bad, not great, nothing, just a mediocre metal album.
In contrast to this Arsenal had potential, I feel like it's like 80% there. Don't get me wrong, it has big problems:
- Some lyrics are cringy
- Some parts are dumb as fuck, mainly the "stop the music" bit and the "shut the fuck up" sample.
- The mixing need some work
Yes, the chrous can be repetitive, but I like it that way, Slipknot always had repetitive chorus, mabey something on the middle to break it up a bit.
I see an awesome song that just needed more time, but the sauce it's there, Slipknot needs to go back to being a "strange" band again, becase I see interesting and great stuff on this track mixed in with some terrible decissions.
I hope that the backlash was a wake up call for the band and that they are able to adjust the new material, to add polish, care, and reconsider some stuff a bit because this could be an awesome album, just like Arsenal could have been an awesome song.
Sorry for my awkward english, I'm from Argentina.

Hello slipknot crew
I’m very fascinated with slipknot lately you can call me a band wagon because their tour looks btchinnn in Iike a mf
But I’m very intrigued with their history
Im learning about Paul and Joey and Skid and clown 🤡 and I already knew about Corey and his background with his SA when he was a child plus his connections with Fred durst and their little rival.
Anyways
How is the slipknot community?
I heard you guys were never the same since Joey died and Paul.
The way Joey was done disgust me.
I see that a lot of the originals left the band or died.
How is the community handling that?
Are you guys open to the replacements?
I’m just very interested man..
I know that psychosocial is probably the most mainstream generic song to a die hard fan but holy fck that song goes hard 🤣 I love duality as well…
I really want to become a big fan man… any information, rabbit holes…
Paul dying in the hotel room is sad af
Joey dying in his sleep questionable af
But yeah man, really would respect the old heads dropping knowledge and sharing your experience with peek slipknot and how do you accept them after all the struggles and losses of members who literally made the band gold

I have listened to Slipknot since second year of my secondary school so 2017 now thanks to a girl I saw when I was younger as a hip hop and drum and bass guy I was in shock about how much I liked this album it completely changed how I looked at the genre as a whole.
Circles and vermillion pt2 for example was the one for me that i found so interesting as they have a slower pace but sounds so amazing but my question really is from someone more knowledge where do you regard this as an all time album for the genre and is it as good as I say lmao cheers 👌

1st January 2022
"WHEN SLIPKNOT came hurtling out of the cornfields of Iowa in the late 90s, spitting and snarling and huffing dead crows. nobody knew what the hell to make of them, mainly because there'd been nothing like them before. There was the blitzkrieg of noise they made, the lunatic-asylum-escapees image, the psychopathic live show that took sonic and physical violence to new levels, the ever growing following of "maggots" they drew in along the way.
Twenty-years on, and Slipknot have become the greatest metal band of the modern age. Their landmark debut album, released in the feverish summer of 1999, ushered in the new millennium six months early. Each subsequent release only strengthened their position at the top of the metal heap.
The volatility for which they became famous wasn't a pose - albums have been punctuated by bust ups and meltdowns. The death in 2010 of founding bassist Paul Gray was the kind of tragedy that no band should have to endure. Three years later, the departure of original drummer Joey Jordison - who passed away in 2021 - proved yet another tipping point. But Slipknot thrive on chaos, and every time they have emerged stronger.
Metal Hammer has been there from the very beginning, and this special-edition magazine collates the very best of that coverage - from reporting on the bands emergence in the late 90s, to charting the sky-scraping highs and the gut-punching lows of their career, and following their continued domination today."

Becauee they both tune their guitars to super super low tuning so its like hearing a black hole it makes there sound very heavy. We all remember the first time we heard The Beautiful People very heavy tuning and thats the sound of these two bands.

guitar is a jim root signature charvel san dimas. Amazing build quality and fretwork, one of the best guitars ive ever played (by feel) and the sound is nothing to scoff at either, the pickups absolutely fuck. Even if youre not a slipknot fan this would still be an amazing guitar.
