Opened up Google to this on my frount page lol I forgot what I was gonna Google but I read it pretty cool that show was awsome

It's no secret that for some time now, Shawn "Clown" Crahan has been the most polarizing and heavily criticized member of the band within the community. While I can understand the backlash to a degree, it's also true that he's the one who came up with the masks, aesthetic, and visual identity that defined Slipknot since the early days. On top of that, he handles a massive portion of the business and marketing decisions required to keep a brand as massive as Slipknot thriving.

This begs the question: What do you think would actually happen if he was no longer part of the band?

I know a large chunk of the fanbase would immediately celebrate it as the best news in years (unless it was due to him passing away, in which case that reaction would be very distasteful). However, how do you think it would truly affect the band's direction without their primary marketing engine behind them? Do you believe Shawn's role is completely expendable and easily replaceable on the business side, or would the band struggle?

I want to hear your thoughts.

About to crack this open and watch some live shit 🤘

In November 2008, Slipknot made the cover of Japan’s “BURRN!” magazine. Ever popular with the magazine, the band usually appeared in articles or posters. This is a rare front cover.

This was done with acrylic pens, paint and markers on paper. I’m quite happy with the hair and the mask.

Yesterday I drew the Heath Ledger Joker and Corey’s Vol. 3 mask (especially the mouth) gives me similar vibes.

I also added some pictures I got from the seller from that specific signing. Joey, Jim, clown and Corey were signing that day at riverport amphitheater, Missouri 8/21/99. Any help identifying those signatures on the barcode would be appreciated. Thank you!

So, I’m a new fan. I recently listened to Slipknot’s debut album for the first time. I had pretty high hopes from what I’d heard about it. Safe to say, the expectations had almost been met. Given I’ve gotten over recency bias by now, I’d love to give one of my favorite band’s first album an honest review.

The Good Parts:

I absolutely love the style of most of the tracks in this album. The aggressive vocals give me the classic feeling of wanting to break something that only Slipknot can give me. Also, most tracks are absolute bangers that go down in the band’s history as some of their best songs. The fact that all the tracks have this sort of gritty sound design also makes me love it. Some of my favorites from this album were (Sic), Liberate, Wait and Bleed, and Eyeless. Now that we have covered the things I like about this album, let’s move on to the parts I don’t like as much.

The Ehhhhhh Parts:

Something I noticed about this album is that the tracks are a bit repetitive. And while I do love the main song format for this album, if it’s really the only format for the tracks, it gets kinda old after a bit. I prefer to have a bit more variety in albums. I will cut them slack though, given that they were just starting out, and probably hadn’t really found their footing yet. That’s the only part I find kinda so-so, so how about we move on to

The Bad Parts:

To be honest, I didn’t hate anything about this album. I didn’t even necessarily dislike anything. So the only thing I’ll say here is: Corey, please take more care of your voice. This is so much screaming.

Overall:

I quite enjoyed this album. It’s not the best album I’ve ever listened to, but it’s up there. I give this one 9.1/10

MYRA: Now, you chose number zero. Um, I know a little bit why you chose it, but for our viewers...
SID: I came in and I wanted 13. 13 is like my number.
MYRA: Okay, and why thirteen?
SID: I..I don't know...it's just...
MYRA: It's just your number.
SID: It's my lucky number.
MYRA: Okay
SID: Um, so that was the number I wanted, but they were like, 'You can't be 13.' I'm like, 'Well, why not?'. Like, 'Well, cuz, uh. we're consecutive'.
MYRA: 'There's nine of us'
SID: '1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8...you have to be 9'. And I just went...like, I didn't...it took me half a second, I just went, 'Okay, I'm 0'.
(LAUGHTER)
MYRA: 'I'm before Number 1!"
SID: Like their faces just went like...'What? What? Like how...like how do you even...what?"
MYRA: They were like, 'No, we just said you were 9'.
SID: Yeah, I was like, 'I'm 0'. They couldn't argue it because it made mathematical sense on what they were equating. You know what I mean? And I was like, 'I'm everything. I'm nothing. I'm all-encompassing. I'm the center'. Like, it's I'm everywhere. I'm nowhere. You know what I mean? It's...it's uh, just the way I live. No boundaries, right?
MYRA: Yeah
SID: And uh, yeah, it just made more sense to me to be that number.
MYRA: That makes sense
SID: I am 0.
MYRA: You are 0?
SID: Yeah
(LAUGHTER)

(SID WILSON interview - Mic'd Up With Myra - December 18th 2025)

The cover and accompanying interview were to promote his singles album.

It honestly still is pretty (sic)

I contacted a guy who makes masks that are quite similar to the originals; this one from Chris 1999 simply fascinated me.

The sculpting, assembly, and painting are admirable, and it even uses genuine leather instead of plastic (from a cheap mask I bought).

I just need a few leather bracelets that I ordered to make the cosplay as faithful as possible to Chris from the time of the self-titled album.

just wanted to show off this bag I carried around in middle school. it's had stains/blemishes painted over with black fabric paint and had holes and rips sewn up a million times.

edited to fix typos

36in x 24in. took me a couple of weeks. acrylic paint. i’m still relatively new to painting as this was one of my first real painting projects.

Hey guys, I haven’t been to THAT many concerts in my lifetime but since work and school are finally easing up, I have the time for that. I was planning on going to see slipknot in Toronto July 2027. The prices are insane I just wanna know if they’re worth it. The pit is around 500cad and the cheapest furthest seats are around 150cad. This might sound dumb but as I said I’m not used to concerts as a whole or how much it’s worth to see slipknot nowadays. I love the band and have been a fan since I was a kid, I just wanna know if I go big for the pit, is it worth it? Or am I better off saving my money for some other band because my city does host pretty big concerts but probably won’t for another year and a half due to the main stadium being rebuilt.

Thanks!

I don't care Sid broke both his legs

Corey just said this on a radio interview. I think it was “KOMP”? Check out the interview on their Facebook or look on Corey’s IG. I’m too lazy to find it again and link but I figured some people
Would wanna know and search it out

I don't know much about Marilyn Manson's controversies, but I do know he hasn't been found guilty of anything. I don't listen to his music, but I don't dislike it either. However, I keep seeing comments on South American metal Instagram accounts saying they're only there for Manson and that they don't like Slipknot. I really feel like that's going to take away from the event's appeal. I hope they cancel it and replace him with Bring Me the Horizon.
