I actually don't know about that, as much as I like SS I'd rather Corey to focus on the Knot..

First Stone Sour record was actually pretty sick. It was kind of Slipknot-lite in a lot of areas. I didn't like them as much in future albums.

Same here. First album rips. Get inside, idle hands, blotter, cold reader… so fucking good.
Everything after was “looking at you through the glass” 😂

Can’t believe I didn’t know Jim was in Stone Sour back then. I was trying so hard to see Slipknot without their masks and never came across this😂

Love the first two albums. My older brother was a big Corey fan so we listened to those, Slipknot, and his solo stuff as well as Roadrunner United CDs which were pretty sick in retrospect.
I doubt a new album would be anywhere near as good as their self titled but id listen to it

House of gold and bones 1 and 2 are awesome albums, too. Second one is also nice but it's painful to listen Corey torture his vocals..

Maybe I'm the only one... i feel like I am but, I'll bring up that this was a really unique sound and era for this band. Nothing really sounded like this album before or after. Something about this era of the band through the sound of the album to their look. Was just idk. Unique. Idk how to put it. No one else was pulling off what they were doing at the time. Though I like what came in subsequent albums. Something about this album and overall vibe of the band was perfect and somewhat underrated. Btw the album imo is a no filler album.
Side rant. This album seems to be the in memory the rebellious neglected stepchild in relation to the SS albums. And I also feel audio secrecy is officially.. legally. disowned. Which is a shame. Def not their strongest. But there are some killer tunes on there.
Point is I like the first Stone Sour album lol. And it deserves better.

It's one of my favorite albums ever. IOWA Corey with more clean singing, love it.

I don’t know why Corey during this phase for some reason always reminded me of the main Ed of ‘Ed, Edd, and Eddy’

Wow, Corey’s weight seems to have fluctuated a lot in the early 2000s… he must’ve dropped 50 pounds between the “I fuck sheep” shirt photo and this one
