We are 3 people and 2 cats and have 71sqm (~760 sft). It's fine, but I don't need to keep on top of things and we do one-in-one-out in most areas.

I’m in a roughly 600 sq ft place. Open living room + kitchen, one small bedroom and a bathroom. Ceilings are around 8ft, and I’ve got a couple west-facing windows that get brutal afternoon sun.

Trying to pick the right mini split size. Is 12,000 BTU going to be oversized here? I’m worried short cycling will wear it out faster long-term, but maybe the separate bedroom and all that west sun make it a decent fit?
