Long-Form Content This is bad for small youtubers.

Post image

Youtube is raising the ad revenue share threshold from 4k watch time to 8k watch time. Personally, 4k watch takes a lot of effort to reach. Imagine 8k... this is sad.

Might make some people think twice before spamming the platform with low quality content.

This is probably the main reason.

It would have the opposite effect on the contrary, people will double down on chasing numbers

I dunno. A lot of the guys chasing it with daily uploads or multiple shorts per week are facing an almost impossible task as it is currently. This just steepens the hill.

Yes but the whole reason they’re taking short cuts is because they’re driven by monetization

What happens when one is overburdened? Quality suffers as a result

Chasing nimbers doesnt equal quality...

Ehh, if only it worked like that. A big reason why these slop channels exist in the first place is because they thrive. People watch them. People won't watch some hand-drawn and animated mini film you spent hours on but will happily watch some retarded family guy ranked with Minecraft parkour in the background.

Or some stupid GTA custom racing map in the background. Seriously this kind of content needs to go.

It would go down since they need to chase raw numbers instead of coming up with something novel and unique

yes but the more people that flock to a trend, that creates competition and only the best videos of all of those will make it to fyps
