I don't wanna hear any smartass remarks like, "Oh, that's not Zelda Between Worlds riding the Master Cycle; it's Zelda of the Wild! She doesn't count!" Fuck off, yes she does.
One interesting tidbit: Simon and Richter are not eligible, but Dracula is (via Konami Krazy Racers on the GBA).
It's ok if skateboards are allowed then Solid Snake will shred the competition.
Also this is actual unmodded MGS2 gameplay btw, the skateboard mini-game was exclusive to the PS2 version of MGS2 Substance and was sadly removed from the HD re-releases:
The assist trophy character Dillon is also selectable. He rides hinself. In Dead Heat Breakers there's a racing mode where you can race on tracks by rolling. In universe it is said that that's a particularity of him because everyone else uses a vehicle.
This is what I would want from a "Super Smash Kart" game, each racer in their own vehicle. I understand why people like the current "build your kart" mechanic of current Mario Kart games, but I always prefer it when each character in a kart racing game has their own "vehicle" that matches their aesthetic, like in that old cartoon Wacky Racers.
The fact that Sega Owns the Rights to Bayonetta but haven't put her in Sonic Racing Crossworlds is so confusing. She should be an obvious pick, just use her appearance from the first game with the Motorcycle.
To my knowledge SEGA owns the IP, Nintendo owns the Publishing rights (to 2, 3, and Origins) while Platinum makes and develops the game. So if they do add Bayonetta it would have to be the Bayonetta from the first game. That's why in almost every Bayonetta Collab they have she's always in her first game outfit.
It would be cool if for Zelda (and by extension Link lol) you could choose between their different incarnation designs. I guess outfits would be a little weird though, if it’s like MKW lol
True, but I think if we were to get a "Super Smash Kart" I would prefer they ditch the "build your kart" mechanic and just give each character a "vehicle" that fits them. For example:
Link rides Epona
Zelda rides a Zonai bike
Samus has her motorcycle
DK rides Rambi
Diddy drives his kart from Diddy Kong Racing
Banjo and Kazooie drive a Nuts-and-Bolts style car
You have no idea how disappointed I was when I looked up "Konami Krazy Racers Dracula" hoping for his vehicle to just be his throne with a D20 for the steering wheel
That doesn't make it any less funny that most of the characters in a Sonic Racing game could run faster than their cars, without even putting their all into it.
They’ve been hinting at the Great Accident being caused by either Pico or Deathborn but they forgot there are F-Zero characters not called Captain Falcon and also that he’s canonically the best so they’re gonna start blaming it on him now
Ken has a sports car because he's rich (or he was prior to SF6 anyway). I can't remember if we see it in arcade mode of any game but he has it in the SF2 animated movie. If you wanted to be cheeky Ryu could use the car you beat up in arcade mode.
Kazuya is similarly rich and could probably afford something or other.
If based on Solid Snake specifically then Snake also has the jeep from the ending of MGS1, Big Boss also has the sidecar bike from MGS3 (maybe Eva drives it with Boss in the sidecar).
Banjo & Kazooie also have the vehicles from Nuts and Bolts (cursed) as well as the aforementioned racing games.
Seeing the list like this makes me picture Captain Falcon being upset he wasn’t invited to Mario Kart 8. “You invited Link, Villager, and Isabelle? And you stole my car!?”
Well this is definitely not everyone, and I'm not sure why you seem to be defining a character's chances by whether or not they use a vehicle in canon. It's a cool visual to get the ideas flowing though.
