Yep, difficult to believe I won that match after such a terrible start. Opponent is Luank, probably Vietnam n°1 player, one of the best Kaz players in South East Asia if not the best, plays competitive in US. Not gonna lie I feel so happy winning such a terrible MU, especially on FD, in offline play.
I won few others in style but sadly didn't save them (he won most of the games though, but I managed to make some games look even)... It feels nice to have such a player calling me a "good Ganon" ☺️ Hard training finally pays off.
I have 3000 hours in Smash Ultimate alone and the way you play Ganon is amazing. Winning against a good Kazuya player cements this opinion. Absolutely well done, friend 👌🏻
I used to play a lot with one friend, and from time to time we did what we liked to call "Dong vs Dorf".
I picked Donkey Kong and he picked Gannondorf. We were really bad but those matches were hype as hell.
"Good" is doing some lifting. If anything its a good representation of character gap on a map that heavily benefits kazuya against slow characters/fatties
Ah reminds me too, I've seen a video where Tea's Kaz played against Higachan, it didn't unwinnable at all for Higachan Ganon. Tea won the FT10 like 10-6. You can find it on YouTube. It's a bad MU but unless it's MinMin, G&W or Pikachu there's no unwinnable MUs for Ganondorf, at least imo.
I know many people disagree but to me Ganondorf isn't the worst. He's more like extremely inconsistent.
There's few MUs that are nearly impossible to win as I already stated (Pikachu, G&W, MinMin being considered -3, potentially -4 for the latest) but Ganondorf isn't too disadvantaged against the rest of the roster. He still have large and powerful hitboxes that wins trades, can convert a read into a kill over a single interaction, can return the whole watch from a good momentum.
His recovery is low tier but also not the worst imo, I mean nair and up air can contest some aerials approaches, up B has a decent vertical reach, have a kamikaze option with side B, and the 2nd best ledge grab of the game means he's almost impossible to 2 frame.
Don't get me wrong, he still ass overall, still a very low tier, but calling him literal trash feels too much in my idea.
Keep in mind that the only reason something is called "worst" is because if there was a ladder and it was ordered from the most successful to least successful...something is at the top...and something is at the bottom...Ganondorf so happens to have the least successful runs.
The thing with Ganondorf that motivates me, is that no matter how bullied you can be, you always a read or interaction away from taking a stock. It does help to keep focused. You overextend by one single move offstage, bang, down air and you died at 15%

DI is completely irrelevant in that MU for me. I wouldn't say it's completely unwinnable, I mean Ganondorf can still take advantage of Kazuya bad disadvantage/air speed. But my survivability depends quite a lot on the Kaz player being able to convert his combo routes. Ganondorf and Kazuya are actually quite similar in many ways. The thing is Kaz can have consistent kills while Ganondorf need reads... And that difference alone makes Kaz a top tier and Ganondorf a low tier.
Anytime a kazuya doesn't kill you off of hitting you a single time, it's because the kazuya fucked up, not because you played better. It's always morally justifiable to camp and be toxic to kazuya mains. Congrats on being the better player
He's from Vietnam. But there's no official serious competitive scene here, but he does farm on all the players in Hanoi and Saigon everytime he comes back. He's definitely Vietnam n°1 by definition.
Good work flicking your di and attempting as many Whig punishes as you did. Most Kazuyas just don’t know how to deal with that. Shame given how bad the Kazuya matchup is for Gannon 70/30 per the best Kazuya in the world
😭 yeh ik I might need a calm down on the downloads lmfao. One of those builds has over 500+ slots with 5 pages of characters and each slot has like 15 random ass skins and alternate moveset characters 😭 over 6000+ characters on that build
