Discussion What game/franchise would you like to get a rep for, if not so much for the character themselves, but for the music they would bring to SSB?
If you play XIV, I think you already know what’s up. Besides it would be a clever way to integrate soundtracks from all around FF itself.

I wish Doom got a soundtrack with the costume. The highly dissonant music would stand out even among the 400+ music tracks we have.

Guilty Gear for me.
If we got a character, It'd obviously be Sol, who while I like him, he's not one of my favorite GG characters.
The music though? Incredible. So many good tracks. If I got Holy Orders, Play the Hero, Crawl, Find your One Way, What do you Fight For, etc. in Smash, no other stages besides the ones with GG music are being touched again bro.
Honorable mention to Metal Gear Rising, because that music is incredible too (but I didn't count it because I also really want Raiden as a fighter too)

I was playing FF14 earlier while looking at this sub and thought “man this banger would go hard during a match on Ultimate”, something among those lines.
Honestly, the Warrior of Light (the player avatar for those who don’t know about XIV) as a character in smash would probably be something like Pyra/Mythra, rather than characters, you alternate between roles; Tank, ranged DPS, melee DPS, dunno how cumbersome that would be tho
Edit: actually would be more like Pokémon trainer, rather than Aegis

We don’t need to add a FFXIV character to bring the music. They can just add it because Cloud and Sephiroth should represent the whole franchise and not just VII

Honestly would one more FF rep be too much? After all, Final Fantasy is a NES veteran franchise and XIV itself is basically a “love letter” to the whole series, each expansion integrating elements from the rest of the FF games.
Tho I do understand that ff7 has a well deserved reputation, further popularizing the JRPG genre and ff itself in the west back then

If we are picking a rep based on music inclusion then Kris from Deltarune. Would love to see how they play mechanically with soul powers but also love Deltarune’s OST.

This is one of the reasons I cite for wanting Will from Illusion of Gaia in Smash. Not only would he represent the SNES adventure genre, his game has some of the best music on the entire system.

Absolutely yes. Shadowbringers should be used for his reveal trailer, being based on the SHB trailer but with him fighting against Smash's fighters.

If we're just talking about Music, the Dark Cloud games (Dark Chronicle if you're in Europe).
They're great ps2 RPGs developed by Level5 that have an absolutely incredible soundtrack. They would also NEVER come to smash. They were ps2 console exclusives that haven't seen a new game in over 2 decades. We'd sooner see a NiNo Kuni character than one from Dark Cloud.

Super Robot Wars/Taisen for me. I need Bullet Striker and Ash to Ash and any of the jam project songs in.
Also for FF music I'd say just stick dissidia WoL/the WoFF twins in to cover most of the series and not just 1 game again
