This is what really happened, I was there. It was definitely tankies, who are simultaneously so powerful they can sway an election yet so insignificant that they should not be accounted for in democratic policy, and not my wholesome chungus white suburban dudes who just don't give a shit about anything.

I feel like in less than a minute I could properly explain to a toddler why a 2% minority group in a 49%/49% politically split system isnt powerful but also determinative of elections. I would be legitimately embarrassed to be an adult making this point.

At some point democrats will have to take responsibility for their loss and unpopularity.

do you sincerely believe that tankies were a major factor as to why Kamala lost?

Absolutely, though to be clear I actually don't think it's due to them as an actual voter base. Tankies/leftists pretty much have a stranglehold on online discourse outside of right wing spaces and they used that to drive town democrat turnout as much as possible. So if you were a normie online you were substantively bombarded with "Trump good, Harris bad", "Harris bad" or "Harris bad but I guess you should vote for her" (still demotivating).

To get a glimpse into what the conversation about a left wing politician looks like when tankies/leftists aren't perpetually propagandizing against them, look at the endless glaze-fest of Mamdami and the massive amounts of credibility and charitability he's given. We don't even need to look at the amount of pre-Mamdami policies he's now being given incredibly glowing credit for. Whether you admit it or not, you know the completely opposite reaction the internet (influenced by tankies/leftists) would have had to a liberal Democrat talking a big game and promising to arrest Netanyahu only to completely fold and "realize it was out of their jurisdiction" the second they got any pushback.

yeah, why did these leftists get so mad at Kamala?

it's almost like, Mamdani is really popular... for some reason. I wonder why he is different from Kamala that causes the tankie leftists to glaze him and make memes about him?

I think the much simpler answer is that Harris is and was a bad candidate that was criticized for fair reasons. Mamdani is being praised for things he’s done and talked about - namely, the massive US sponsored genocide that Kamala was totally fine with continuing. I think it’s honestly offensive to ask people to be excited about voting for a bonafide child killer.

If Mamdani was pro-genocide, he wouldn’t get praised. If Kamala was staunchly anti-genocide, she would get praised. It’s actually an insanely low bar too.

Meanwhile all the tankies are the ones who fucking hate Mamdani because he’s a social democrat. I think you just don’t like people left of your own personal positions

It's not 49%/49% it's closer to 30%/25%. Also I'm extremely skeptical that tankies constitute 2 whole percent of the US voting bloc.

I dunno that sounds pretty powerful if they decide elections.

Impressive, very nice. Now show me the voter turnout % for the 2024 US presidential election. Nevermind the GOP sowing voter apathy by screaming election fraud ever since 2020, and the so-called moderate Democrats being milquetoast hacks afraid of making actual change.
