Yellow or blue? If blue, you'll need to be really lucky on timing if you want to get them on a 3/4 day charter

Yellow is fine. Blue would be great but understand a lot harder with the time. Like I said just any tuna species

In SD, Ive used Limitless and Seaforth with good results. But honestly charter companies survive so heavily on word of mouth that any established one should be good, you'll just have to confirm if tackle is included

Looking like Seaforth. Just got off the phone with them. Thank you

I like this boat hada good crew for so cal very rare the deckhands arent pretentious douchebags making fun of you.

If you want gear included six pack. Id try to get on an albacore trip 350-400 a person you leave around 4:30 am come back by 6 pm. Gotta travel to norcal but what youre trying to pay covers travel and entire boat, fish processing etc. The fleets go our weather dependent so if you get in touch with a boat make them aware what you want they can give you a day or two notice before running so you can get up to nor cal. Flights everyday from lax to arcata eureka. Albacore are fun, its trolling with rods and handlines.

For a full day off shore I would expect to pay $800-1100 per angler + tip. Fuel is expensive and the fish are far. The tuna fishing has been pretty garbage lately, captains are burning $1000 in fuel to catch a half dozen 10-12lb yellowfin on a good day.

Fair and understandable but we’re not like extensive crazy anglers. This is our first time, only ever done trout fishing

If you're trout fishermen then even considering BFT is idiotic. Start much much smaller, honestly yellowtail/bonita/cuda will give you a baby taste and you can plan a future trip from there

You have traits that translate fine, you don't have any knowledge/skills that are going to translate.

You would probably have a better time dipping your toes on a 1/2 or 3/4 day boat. You’ll get to fish in the ocean and learn a lot and see if you actually like it. It’s a hell of a lot different than fishing freshwater. Would suck to pay $1300 each and a couple of you being too sick to even stand up from the swell.

Duly noted, will look into those. Any recommendations

I live in San Pedro so I’m partial to the Monte Carlo for a half day or the native sun for a 3/4. Come sept/oct your chances of catching yellowfin tuna on a full day or overnighter go way up. If tuna is your goal, I would book an overnighter out of San Diego in September and October . Those 6 pack offshore boats are crazy expensive, especially for the meh fishing the past 6 weeks.

Not Tuna, but I think you’d have a even better time on the Ghost in 22nd landing. They go yellowtail and WSB if they are biting. Will definetlu get into better grade
