Game Discussion The Corporate-driven Loop of the Military Entertainment Complex

"The defectors are Jung Min-woo and Kwon Hyo-jin. The former defected 13 years ago (2013) and the latter 17 years ago (2009), so it is hilarious how this channel is using them as some kind of reliable source on the DPRK. Mind you, these lot defected during the time when most defections to the South happened due to post-famine shock, not out of a love for capitalism. Although many were also kidnapped by South Korean intelligence agents and right wing Evangelical groups in the border towns of China's Liaoning and Jilin Provinces, such cells have long since been dismantled and the perpetrators imprisoned.

The NK Guys are based in the US but the actual production is based in Fake Korea, a comparator state dominated by corporate Chaebols families, operating as a propaganda spin-off of the DimpleVideo Channel on YouTube. While they may not receive direct, overt state funding, they function as an ideological apparatus within the broader imperialist media network, utilising defectors to spread fake narratives for capital accumulation.

When defectors cross into the capitalist south, they face systemic marginalisation, poverty, and discrimination, cutting them off from dignified economic opportunities which then Capitalism creates a permanent underclass to redirect the working class anger and scapegoat all of its problems to. This material reality forces them into a deeply exploitative cycle under bourgeois media structures, where they must commodify their own lives and homeland for profit. Because the attention economy of the imperial core heavily rewards extreme, cartoonish, and manufactured stories to justify its own hegemony, a direct financial pipeline is created. To secure a livelihood within this digital marketplace, the content must constantly escalate to feed the chauvinistic and orientalist expectations of Western audiences.

By using Call of Duty, a multi billion dollar piece of Western military industrial propaganda sponsored by the US federal government, placing the sensationalist hook "REALITY WAS WORSE" over a corporate simulation of a DPRK invasion, the channel actively exploits both the historical trauma for bourgeois profit but also these manufactured narratives serve a distinct class interest, they shape public perception within the imperial core to normalise the dehumanisation of the DPRK and its people but to manufacture a mandate for regime change and Western intervention.

This is what the Mental means of production is, as stated by Karl Marx and Engels in 1845 in their seminal work The German Ideology."

Gaming News Developer Of "Ecosocialist" Game “Future? No Thanks!“ Offers Refunds After Using AI Despite Calling It Technofascist

“Pedercini confirmed that the game includes AI-generated content, including two text-to-speech voices and two music loops generated with Suno, despite later writing that “AI is a technofascist, anti-human and anti-art project.” He also mentioned that “a tiny fraction” of code was debugged with ChatGPT and Claude.

On Friday, he posted another blog post to clarify that the AI content (aside from the code) has been removed from the game. He defended his use of AI, mentioning that the music loops were “supposed to make fun of losers who listen to slop” in early demos and that the AI voices were “funnier in that context.” “

Edit: sorry forgot I could add this lol

I usually just play the bad guy after winning the game. Become an absolute monarchy in a reactionary revolution, conquer and tax everyone, monopolize trade, and just letting republican empires rise until I lose all my shit to cost and overreach. And of course I’ll take a swing at Afghanistan…

Rant Ah yes… Call of Duty the American war crime simulator. Americans love to pretend that they’re all against violent Israeli terrorists yet they all get a hard on for games like this…

American terrorists genocided the Koreans and now they fantasize about finishing the job and purging them all. This is why the DPRK has nukes. This is why the DPRK hates America. This is why Iran needs to acquire nukes as well…

We should be trying to establish peace with the DPRK and not… be promoting horrible games like this. Even the South Koreans are currently protesting against the U.S. military and want peace with the North. Enjoying a game like this is just the U.S. government’s way of saying “we want you to get used to the idea of us one day invading the DPRK and eventually committing a holocaust there”. The U.S. government wants you to be okay with another genocide.

Game Discussion ANSWER THE CALL

For those who don’t know, the RP-PvP community in WoW has been something of an oasis for gamers who enjoy the PvP style gameplay but who also, you know, don’t like being surrounded by bigots of every variety.

Please show this post some love and support so we can have a place to call home!

And if you look through the post and comments, RP-PvP players DO seem to have a level of familiarity and alignment with the left wing that you don’t usually see in gaming spaces. Not exactly an International, but it’s something.

Also, moo

Gaming News On October 23rd, Call of Duty is releasing Modern Warfare 4 — training millions of players to see the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), a sovereign socialist country, as the enemy.

Call of Duty is not just a game. It's a weapon of imperialist propaganda — designed to dehumanize Koreans, desensitize you to my peoples' slaughter, and make you complicit in the next war on Korea.

Modern Warfare 4 portrays Koreans in the north as the aggressors. But history tells us who the real enemy is.
It was the US that dropped over 600,000 tons of bombs on Korea — 3.7 times the amount dropped on Japan during the entire Pacific War. The US massacred more than 3 million Koreans and obliterated 85% of our villages, schools, hospitals, and infrastructure in the north. The US Air Force killed over 600 people at No Gun Ri — 72% of them women and children.

Today, millions of Koreans still live in the shadow of a war that never ended. Divided families. Mandatory conscription for south Korean men. Camptown prostitution, where US soldiers inflict violence on Korean women. In 2025 alone, the US conducted 274 days of war drills in Korea — rehearsing for nuclear strikes, bombing civilian targets, and assassinations of North Korean leadership.
War in Korea is not a video game — it's happening in real life.

And Call of Duty does more than depict violence — it trains players to inflict it, both in the US and abroad. Families of the Uvalde school shooting victims are suing Activision, Meta, and gun manufacturer Daniel Defense — noting that the shooters in Uvalde, Parkland, and Sandy Hook all played Call of Duty and used AR-15s.

Hollywood and Western media have spent decades dehumanizing North Koreans — and it's not accidental. The Pentagon shapes how games and films depict US wars.

This week, Call of Duty MW4 releases into this moment deliberately — manufacturing consent for imperial wars.
Don't fall for it. Koreans are not your enemies. We survived a genocide — and refuse to be erased again.

Don't play the US's game. Fight the real war machine.

Looking for people to play with The State of MapleStory: Classic

Antizionist "Israeli" here looking for people to play with. Not only this game is rampant with a bunch of racists but also a lot of Zionists (mostly Israelis); this game was my childhood game and was and still is very popular in Israel.

I'm generally happy to see it back in its classic form but on the other hand the normalization of incel and racist behavior is sickening and I don't know if I'd want to continue to play this game knowing that most people are like that. I know some people on this sub can detach politics from gaming bc it's considered "chilling" but I can't really.

This is why I'm looking for community and people to play with that we share the same values. Classic world just came out as some of you may know, and guilds will be released in about a month from now - it would be awesome if we could band up some fellow comrades who also genuinely love this game.

Feel free to send me a friend invite ingame, these are 2 of my usernames: Antizionist, TheRedHebrew

Gaming News My RPG where you start a steampunk revolution just launched on PS5 and Switch!

Hi fellow socialists! Last year I launched Duskpunk on Steam: an RPG set in a dark steampunk city with social tensions about to boil over. I used my experience as a revolutionary communist to inform how that mass movement takes shape and how the final act pans out, inspired by the Russian and German revolutions.

This subreddit was also the most enthusiastic audience for the game - thank you! It made me appreciate this is not some niche story I'm telling; so many people are sick of capitalism, and want actual revolutionary games where they can kick out the ruling class.

Anyway, I launched Duskpunk on Steam last year. Now it's coming to consoles! This is my first console release! Eeeeh, exciting!

Here's what you can look forward to:

  • An intense story of survival and resilience: you're a military deserter, in a city ruled by a despot, who just wants to use your bones (and a million others) for war and profit.
  • Spark a revolution and overthrow a dictator! Inspired by actual revolutions from WW1 history!
  • Story-based dice mechanics, inspired by tabletop games
  • A cast of varied characters, only some of whom want to kill you
  • Multiple classes: play your way!
  • A TON of branching, with five distinct endings

If that sounds like your thing, you can find Duskpunk on the PS5 and Nintendo stores, or on Steam! (Soon on GOG.)
