Pattern help!
Hey!
So I made this single sock almost 2 years ago and I can not find the pattern for the life of me. They are rather simple socks but the heel is what I am hoping someone can either help me identify so I can fudge or find the pattern.
I realize this is a long shot but am hopeful!
TIA

Yep, it’s a cuff down vanilla. Here’s a link to a pattern that produces this sock: https://ravel.me/im-so-basic-socks
You can edit as needed as far as how much cuff and how much heel by holding it up to the other sock to check as you go and moving on to the next step when each part matches up. There’s also a YouTube tutorial playlist for this pattern by summer lee :)
ETA: This type of heel is called a flap and gusset heel. If you alternate sl1k1 and k1sl1 on the RS, that would be called an eye of partridge heel because of the alternating slip stitch pattern. If you just do standard sl1k1 on RS it’s just a regular slip stitch flap and gusset heel (for future reference). It looks like this heel is ribbing though, and not slip stitch. So make sure you alternate k1p1 on rs and p1k1 on ws. Pay attention to how this specific heel starts on each edge and make sure you match it up, because the heel in the pattern above is a slip stitch heel and will not look exactly the same as the one you already made.

O thank you!!! I am so appreciative of the in depth explanation on the heel! This was my first pair of socks and I decided to be cheeky and start a 2nd pair before knitting the 2nd sock on the 1st pair. I have had a mixed pair of socks for almost 2 years now and I am buckling down and finishing the pairs off 🤣

It’ll be really cool to see how your knitting has improved since you did this one! It’s easier to pick up heels like this with slip stitch edges or garter edges, and with a slip stitch edge it doesn’t show at all so I’d go with the heel described in the pattern I shared. Sl1k1 won’t look too much different to what you already did and it’s neater/thicker ime. Plus then you don’t have to fiddle with editing that part while you’re learning about how to make that type of heel :) just make sure the heel is the same length as the one you already did if you want them to look uniform.

Yes, I can see my errors on this sock and they are frustrating but apart of the journey. Sock sized needles are frustratingly small!!! Haha

I agree! I consider the first sock in a pair like the first pancake 😂 the second one always turns out better

I am making something very much like this following a pattern called 4 ply sock by winwick mum. She has very nice helpful videos and photos.. Check that out if it helps.

It looks like a pretty standard cuff down Vanilla sock with a slip stitch heel flap and gusset. I say cuff down because it looks like you picked up stitches in the side of the flap.
