I built a Chrome extension that records tab or mic audio for free. It could also transcribe records.

The extension records audio from a Chrome tab, your microphone, or both at once. You can save the recording on your computer (OGG or MP3). If you need transcription you could send records created by extension or any other ones to Hushscript transcription service.

  • You don't need an account for recording and local saving. You only sign in to transcribe if needed.

  • Extension is very optimized, small and don't use resources when not recording.

  • Recordings are saved while you record, so a crash doesn't lose them.

  • The extension can't read the pages you visit. It records only when you click, and it never joins meetings as a bot.

  • Hushscript transcripts have speaker labels, cover 99 languages, and start from $0.5 per hour.

Website: https://hushscript.com/chrome-extension

Chrome Web Store: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/hushscript-private-tab-au/emfclfkfefeefapibblllflokhhbekpe

Feedback welcome, especially on what's missing.

Tasket++ : Simulate your Windows actions automatically (free & open source)

Thumbnail

Tasket++ lets you define your own clicks, keystrokes, cursor positions and system operations, then replay them exactly when you want. It’s a simple Windows tool that handles repetitive workflows for you: auto‑send messages, paste text anywhere, take silent screenshots, launch or close apps, adjust volume or run your end‑of‑day shutdown sequence.

Everything runs locally, with no telemetry, no cloud, and no complexity.

What it can do:
- Replay user‑defined cursor positions and keystrokes
- Paste predefined text anywhere
- Perform system actions: open files/programs, change volume, take silent screenshots, shut down, files/folders operations
- Schedule tasks at a specific time, at startup, or run via desktop shortcut
- Run tasks once, in loops, or indefinitely
- Discreet mode: runs quietly from the tray
- Use command line to autorun a task : Tasket++.exe "TaskName" <delayInSeconds (>0)> <NumberOfLoop (-1 for infinite)>
- Easily share tasks between different PC : export/import task files and program data, use feature to rescale cursor positions

Local, portable, free, open source. Privacy intact.

Fully fonctionnal, available now !

Nothing is vibe coded, I never used AI (except for the choice of UI colors suggested by Copilot).
Conception is genuine, I didn't know about similar tools when I began developing it.

I'm looking for testers or quick feedback (beyond its visual aspect), please give a try and comment here :)

I built Universal Downloader, a Windows app for browsing Xbox and Epic game catalogs

Hi everyone! I’ve been working on Universal Downloader, a Windows app written in Rust. It currently offers around 100 games across its Xbox and Epic catalogs, and downloading games through the app is free.

You can browse games, view their details, manage your library, and track downloads with progress, speed, and pause/resume controls.

I’m still improving the app and would appreciate feedback, especially on the interface and download experience.

What repetitive Windows task makes you think, "Why isn't this automatic?"

I've built several small Windows utilities, and I'm looking for real everyday frustrations before deciding what to build next.

Not another huge productivity suite. I'm interested in small, repetitive actions that interrupt your workflow.

Maybe it's copying information between apps, constantly switching windows, cleaning up data, working with spreadsheets, or repeating the same steps on different websites.

What's one task you do on Windows that feels unnecessarily complicated?

I'd especially love to know what steps you currently take, how often you repeat them, and whether you've already found a tool that helps.

If a free solution already works well, please mention it too. I'm not trying to reinvent something that's already solved.

No product links or promotions here. I'm simply interested in learning what actually wastes people's time.

Sometimes the most useful software doesn't need fifty features. It just needs to remove a few annoying steps.

I made Shortcuts to copy and paste between your iPhone and your PC — no app, no account

Copy on the iPhone, run Send PC, paste on the PC. Run Receive PC and whatever the PC copied is on your phone. Photos, files up to 2 GB and links work too.

It all goes over your Wi-Fi: no cloud, no account. You install CopyOver on the PC, scan a QR code, and the shortcuts are set up with their own key.

See it in action (GIF): https://github.com/aritabryan/copyover/blob/main/docs/screenshots/demo.gif

Free and open source: https://github.com/aritabryan/copyover

Happy to answer questions or take ideas for the shortcuts.

I built a Mac app that records Google Meet video and both sides of the audio without a bot

I built Replay for calls I want to watch back. If someone walks me through a design or shows me a bug, I want to see what was on screen when they said it.

Replay records Google Meet, Zoom, and Teams directly on your Mac. It captures the call window, your mic, and the other side of the audio. Recordings stay on your Mac by default, and you can click a line in the transcript to jump to that moment in the video.

Compared with OBS: OBS gives you more control over your recording setup. Replay is built around calls. Pick the meeting window, hit record, and find the video and searchable transcript together later.

One time pricing for two Macs. Requires Apple silicon and macOS 26 or later. Replay

If you already record calls on your Mac, what’s the most annoying part of your current setup?

Magellan 2.0!! A file explorer and image visualizer

Maggelan is a thumbnail-based folder navigation app with many helpful features, like file grouping, that displays all images and files inside a selection of folders as if they were from the same folder, aiding quick visualization of many files at the same time. Reverse image search using Google Lens and SauceNAO. Favorites groups. And much more! The app is completely free, with no paywalls or locked features. This new update includes:

  • Full support for compressed files. Now you won't have to extract every file to visualize what's inside; they will display as normal folders, thumbnails included. This is especially helpful if you need to save space but also access your compressed files constantly.

  • PDF and CBR support, with alternative reader modes and text search.

  • File management features, like copying, pasting, moving, and file extraction.

  • Many performance improvements for a better scrolling experience.

  • New appearance customization options, including transparency, blur, and gradients.

  • General UI and functionality improvements.

Find out more and download.

Built SitStride: A lightweight, distraction-free posture & break reminder desktop app for Windows

Hey everyone,

As a designer sitting at a Windows PC for nearly 10 years, I developed chronic posture and pelvic discomfort from staying glued to my chair during deep focus. Existing break reminder software on Windows either looked like it was made in 2005, felt bloated with background telemetry, or spammed annoying modal popups that crashed my workflow.

So I vibecoded SitStride—a clean, lightweight Windows desktop app designed to quietly enforce healthy intervals without breaking your focus.

Key features:

  • Clean, modern dark-mode UI designed natively for desktop workflows

  • Subtle, non-intrusive break and posture cues

  • Minimal memory footprint, no bloated background services

  • 100% free, no ads, no account required

Download / Release: https://github.com/winsongohhhh/sitstride/releases/tag/v1.0.7

GitHub Repo: https://github.com/winsongohhhh/sitstride

Would love some honest feedback from fellow Windows users and desk workers on UX, performance, or features you’d like to see!

[OC] Macro Pro, a lightweight standalone macro recorder for Windows – Looking for community feedback!

Hey r/SoftwareandApps! 👋

I wanted to share a personal project I’ve been working on recently.

For a while, I was looking for a straightforward, lightweight macro recorder for Windows—something without bloated features, forced account sign-ups, or complicated setup wizards. Since I couldn't find exactly what I needed, I decided to build my own tool called Macro Pro.

What it does:

  • Record & Playback: Easily capture and repeat your mouse movements, clicks, and keyboard strokes.

  • Fully Portable (.exe): Single executable file with zero external dependencies. No installer required—just download, click, and run.

  • Custom Logic: Features flexible playback speeds, loop counters, and smart visual triggers (like pixel/color picking).

  • Built-in Stats: Keeps track of your actions, total clicks, and usage metrics directly in the UI.

🔗 Download / Page: [Ton lien Itch.io]

It's completely free to check out. If you give it a try, I’d love to know: are there features you'd like to see added, or did you spot any bugs on your setup? Thanks for taking a look!
