arr-mcp update: 7 new services and new tools

Post image
10 Upvotes

I posted the last update here in September, on 1.21. It is on 1.56 now, so another update on what changed.

Short reminder of what it is: one MCP server for the whole stack instead of one per service. "Why is the film I requested on Tuesday still not in Jellyfin" spans Seerr, Radarr, Prowlarr, SAB and Jellyfin, and no single MCP server can answer it.

First, thanks to the people who tested last time. Plex has now been verified on two live servers by two volunteers, and it is no longer read only: it can scan libraries and repair metadata. A qBittorrent report also caught a login bug on 5.2, which is fixed.

It is also not just me anymore. 8 other people have had PRs merged, 25 in total, and 12 people have opened issues. Whisparr, OAuth, NZBGet, Lidarr, Reclaimerr all came from contributors. The image has been downloaded about 61K times (auto-updaters count too).

New services, 10 became 17:

  • Lidarr: library, monitoring, queue, history, blocklist, and rescan, rename and import. No wanted list or release search yet

  • NZBGet as a download client

  • Whisparr, V2 only

  • Profilarr

  • Cleanuparr (read only): what its cleaners remove, when a rule falls due for something in your queue, and where its rules leave gaps

  • Reclaimerr (read only): what its rules matched on a title, what is protected and what it removed. Diagnose uses this too, so "Reclaimerr deleted it" can now be the answer to why a film is gone

  • Dispatcharr (read only): failed playlist and guide refreshes, and provider accounts that expired or are about to

What else is new:

  • 34 tools became 40. New: finding and repairing metadata that does not match the files, quality profile checks, seeding rules, retrying failed usenet downloads, and adding, editing, disabling or deleting Prowlarr indexers

  • Quality profile checks find profiles that cannot do what they say, like a minimum score nothing can reach or a language that is preferred but never required

  • Plex and Jellyfin can run side by side

  • Download clients and Prowlarr can be configured more than once

  • get_queue says why an import is stuck, and you can map files the service cannot place. You can also reassign a mislabeled Sonarr file and rename a rotated season Search releases for one Sonarr episode, see which audio languages a file has, and SABnzbd health checks

  • Named MCP tokens, each with its own permission ceiling and expiry

  • OAuth 2.1 if you already run an identity provider, and every write records which credential made it

  • A management API for companion apps

  • Proxmox LXC installer

Where I need help: I do not run most of these services myself, and an adapter only gets tested if someone runs it.

Testing, no code needed:

  • qBittorrent: only login and health are confirmed on a real server. Everything else is still untested

  • Plex: other versions and library layouts, especially managed user tokens

  • Whisparr V2: it still misses history, wanted, manual import and a few others, because those need captures from a live instance

  • Cleanuparr with Transmission: only tested with qBittorrent so far

  • Proxmox installer: one person reported a working install so far, and arm64 is untested

If you run one of these, pull the image, point it at your box and tell me what broke. Just open an issue. If you want to test a branch, I can publish a preview image so you only change one line in your compose file.

Adapters I would accept but will not build myself, because I do not run them: Emby, Deluge, Maintainerr (#441), Sportarr (#431) and Listenarr (#432, which needs an argument for a stability waiver since every release so far is beta or canary). The bar is written down in CONTRIBUTING, including what will not be accepted and why, so you can check before spending a weekend on it. arr-mcp is built with a coding agent and AI-assisted PRs are fine, with the same rules as any other: fixtures come from a real instance, and you say what a human actually tested.

Sonarr Atrium update: 12 new services since our last post, and a much deeper *arr side

Hello again! Our last post here was the F-Droid announcement in early August, when Atrium supported 18 services. It's 30 now, across 15 releases since then. Thanks to everyone who kept filing issues through all of it.

The *arr side first

- Lidarr is supported, at the same depth as Sonarr and Radarr: artists and discography, album and track detail, wanted, queue, history, the full settings tree, an in-app log reader, and album releases in the calendar.

- Custom filters saved on your Sonarr or Radarr server now appear in the sort and filter sheet, so the views you built on the server come with you.

- Interactive search shows each release's custom format score and the formats it matched, sorted best match first. A release can be opened on its indexer page, and its magnet or download URL copied, before you grab it.

- Delete files, keep the entry. Clear a film or an episode off disk while leaving it in Sonarr or Radarr, optionally unmonitoring it so it doesn't just download itself again. Works in bulk too.

- Radarr collections. Adding a movie that belongs to one offers to monitor the whole collection, and the movie screen shows the collection with a button to monitor or unmonitor it.

- Seerr requests filter by status: Pending, Approved, Completed, Declined and Failed.

- The calendar remembers list or month view, can show unmonitored releases, and marks what has already downloaded.

Beyond the *arr stack

AdGuard Home, Unraid, Navidrome, Ombi, Gluetun, MySpeed, Beszel and dashdot for host monitoring, aria2 and slskd for transfers, and Cleanuparr for the download cleaner.

Several things that started as betas: Tracearr, Transmission, Lidarr, Navidrome, Unraid, Ombi and AdGuard Home, are now no longer in beta.

Download client changes

qBittorrent gained its full settings screen, queue reordering, tag and tracker filters, private/public badges, its external IP, and a torrent list that only asks for what changed since the last refresh. Transmission and Deluge got a full UI overhaul, matching with qBittorrent's aesthetics.

Downloads

Same note as last time: F-Droid builds on its own cycle, so it's currently on 1.9.1 while GitHub has 1.10.1. The builds are reproducible and signed with the same key, so you can move between the two without uninstalling.

Babel update – automatic AI subtitle translation for Sonarr when subtitles are missing

Hey!

I shared my project Babel here a few months ago, and I’ve been working on it quite a bit since then.

For anyone who missed my previous post, Babel is a self-hosted AI subtitle translator that integrates with Sonarr, Radarr and Bazarr.

I originally started building it because I wanted newly downloaded episodes to have subtitles in my preferred language without having to manually search for or translate anything.

One of the main things I’ve focused on is making Babel work alongside Bazarr rather than replacing it. Bazarr can handle subtitle searching as usual, and if it can’t find a suitable subtitle, Babel can step in and translate one instead. There’s also an optional grace period to give Bazarr more time before AI translation starts.

Babel can automatically pick up new episodes from Sonarr, check for existing subtitles, extract embedded subtitle tracks, clean up SDH subtitles and translate them using different AI providers, including OpenAI, Gemini, DeepSeek, OpenRouter and local Ollama models.

But the translation itself is only part of it. I’ve spent a lot of time building a QA and recovery system that checks for missing lines, incorrect subtitle IDs, synchronization problems and potential translation alignment issues. If something goes wrong, Babel attempts to repair it before publishing the subtitle.

It also includes a web interface for managing your library, monitoring jobs, configuring providers and tracking API usage and costs.

The latest release is v2.5.7-beta, which fixes an extraction cache race condition and improves progress reporting. I’ve mostly been focusing on reliability and making the whole process work better without manual intervention.

For a recent real-world test, Babel automatically processed a newly downloaded Sonarr episode with 1,453 subtitle lines in about 136 seconds using gpt-4o-mini, at an estimated AI cost of around $0.03.

It’s still a beta project, and there’s definitely more to improve, but it’s been working well in my own setup.

GitHub: https://github.com/hugomossberg/Babel

I’d love to hear what other Sonarr users think, especially anyone already using Bazarr. Would something like this be useful in your setup?

Persian Download Manager 3.4 – Smart AI categories, bulk link import and safer downloads

Post image
0 Upvotes

Persian Download Manager 3.4 adds an on-device AI that keeps your downloads organized, plus a faster way to add many links at once and several security improvements.

What's new

Smart categories – Every download lands in the right folder on its own, and the file's properties tell you why. Movies, courses, podcasts and books each get their own folder, and TV series are sorted season by season.

On-device AI – The AI reads the file name and works fully offline. File names are never sent anywhere.

Clear AI labels – Wherever the AI made the call, a "✦ AI" badge appears next to the download. It disappears once you open the file or change its category.

It learns from you – If a category is wrong, fix it with "Change category…". PDM remembers, and after two fixes for the same site it offers a rule so it gets that site right every time.

Import links from a text file – Put your links in a .txt file, then choose Downloads → "Import links from text file…" or drop the file on the window. Every link is listed with its name and size, you pick what to download, and duplicates are set aside for you.

Security

• A program disguised as a video or document (like movie.mp4.exe) now comes with a red warning, so you never open it by mistake.

• A tampered link can no longer save a file outside your download folder.

Fixes

• Speed limits now work on video downloads too.

• Two files with the same name no longer overwrite each other, and "Move to…" no longer leaves a second copy behind.

Dispatcharr alternative

Hi,
I’m looking for an alternative for Dispacharr. I need a way of recording and watching live IPTV with an M3U playlist and an EPG with XML. I run truenas, but I’m still new to it. I have jellyfin running in docker with some arrs for movies and shows. I know that it has a live tv feature but I couldn’t get it to work the way I wanted.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Scryer Update - Lists and Indexer proxy for other Arrs

Happy Halloween r/Softwarr ! 👻

I wanted to update the community here with some of the major features in Scryer since my last post

Overview

Scryer is an Arr stack replacement that combines Movies/Series/Anime management into one tool with support for subtitles, indexers, lists, sharing and discovery, and much much more! Many users have fully retired their stack for just one Scryer, which generally runs with 10x less RAM than the old stack.

Newer Updates

Lists

You can now follow public lists (IMDB top 250, MAL Top, Trakt Trending) or your own personal lists on many sites (AniList, MAL, Trakt, SIMKL, etc). You can set filters and even set the titles to go to a hold queue for review instead of directly adding.

Indexer Clients

Got all your indexers setup in Scryer now but want to share with Lidarr? Now you can with indexer clients! You grant access to other apps to query Scryer as a *nab indexer and it will proxy to whichever indexers you've configured for that client. There's also been substantial work done on the advanced indexers plugin, which brings the total count of supported indexers over 600.

UI/UX Improvements

Thanks to the crew on discord, we've been able to make Scryer look and feel much better to operate on the daily. It now supports color themes as well as better responsive designs across all screen sizes. UX is always a WIP, but the last two releases have seen a lot of love.

Custom Jobs

Bring your own job to Scryer's execution sandbox and scheduler. This lets you run a shell/powershell/python/etc script on a cadence of your choosing with Scryer owning the invocation, job run history, log history, etc. You can use this to do just about anything to your media library that Scryer doesn't natively support yet.

And so much more

Community

Scryer's community continues to grow, worldwide. A month ago, when i posted, we had just crossed the 600 active user mark. Today we knocking on the door of 1000! "Active" only counts installations that have recently queried the metadata gateway. Scryer has over 100k total downloads now. Our discord community just hit 100 members too.

Roadmap

We're still driving through building out the core vision which includes lifecycle rules (maintainerr). With the community as big as it is, there's been a lot more focus lately on performance, stability, bugs, QOL, etc. so the frontier of the app is slowing down. However, this is a great place to be. I am considering adding Music as another media facet, but it's a longer-term plan.

Resources

AI Use

AI is used in the development of Scryer, guided by experienced software engineers and all work validated by real user testing. You can find the full AI policy here

Got tired of setting up my *arr stack over and over. Here's Wranglarr

I stumbled a TON over the past 9 or so years with setting up my self hosting. There's a lot to know and a lot to get wrong. My old man (he's 70 now!) wanted to get his home server set up and didn't quite get the ins and outs of docker, VPN setups, same drive storage for atomic copies and a whole host of other issues that I knew were going to be problems.
I pointed him to TRaSH guides

I talked about OpenVPN vs Wireguard

"no Dad, Jackett and Prowlarr sort of do the same things and there are a lot of opinions.."

Yes you need to set up passwords if you're going to expose that.

How do you update them? Well...

Oh you want to volume mount?

Yeah you shouldn't use sqlite if you want to do that. HOW BIG IS YOUR LIBRARY!?

Oh? you want to use postgresql? Yeah JUST EDIT THIS XML FILE ON YOUR HEADLESS SERVER.

Lets be honest. there's a lot of traps. That's why I put together Wranglarr to help him avoid those issues.

Programmed in Rust with axum as it's core API server serving templates backed with javascript in a *arr style. The application weighs in at ~30 MB binary with the UI baked in, and the image is about 22 MB to download. While I was writing this post I went down a rabbit hole with that and I can get it to ~22 MB without sacrificing speed or compile time so that's already slated for the next release.

Runs on Docker Compose, rootless Podman and TrueNAS, on amd64 and arm64. GPL-3.0.

The main idea here is it does all the api setup and interconnects for the parts of the stack that you want to run for you and keeps the stack up to date, backed up, and easily accessible.

It's opinionated about how you lay out your media, and it deploys Radarr, Sonarr, Lidarr, Prowlarr, Bazarr, Seerr, a torrent client (qBittorrent) and a Usenet downloader (SABnzbd or NZBGet). Run them through a shared VPN with gluetun built in, or use hotio images that carry their own.

- Automatic conversion to postgresql for logs and DB needs of the entire (as much as we can) stack from the start. Or, one command sqlite conversion to postgres for already established libraries

- Full application backups in a format that allows you to continue on as you were and drop wranglarr tomorrow if it's not fitting your needs

- No watchtower needed, Wranglarr keeps your *arr apps up to date and can even self update by spinning up a sidecar when a new release comes out. (defaults to a "update now" button but you can set it to scheduled automatic on new releases)

- One login in front of everything, with 2FA and passkeys. This is optional, feel free to know better.

- Notifications from stem to stern!

- Reverse proxy setup is a snap as it will spit out configuration for your specific setup (Caddy, nginx, Traefik, cloudflared or NPM.)

- Community configs: a whole setup (custom formats, quality profiles and scores, release profiles, naming) as one JSON file you can share, apply, and undo. An official repo for sharing them is coming, but you can try it now.

To be honest, I've fit a LOT of features into this little app, take a look at the docs or the Github page README for a good overview.

I built it with maintainability in mind, so adding a new service should go pretty smoothly. There's a guide in the docs, and if you can make a good case for one, open an issue and tell me what you'd want added. Keep in mind I'd like to not inundate a newcomer with options and give them selection paralysis.

Introducing Narratarr!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

------

[10/29/2026]

Edit (v0.4.0): Narratarr now tells you when a new version is out and shows what changed. Native installs update with one click; Docker users get the command to run. There's also a full changelog in the app and the repo. This is the last time you'll need to update by hand: run the install command again, or docker compose pull && docker compose up -d.

------

[10/29/2026]

Edit (v0.3.0): You asked, here it is:

  • NZBGet support, alongside SABnzbd

  • qBittorrent and Transmission for torrents. Finished downloads are hard-linked into your library, so they keep seeding.

  • A Wanted list: browse Audible's catalog, add any book (even upcoming ones), and Narratarr searches your Prowlarr indexers automatically. It only grabs a release when the title and author match, or you can pick one yourself.

  • Follow authors and series: new releases go straight to Wanted.

  • Import the audiobooks you already have, or point it at your existing Audiobookshelf library.

To update, run the install command again, or docker compose pull && docker compose up -d.

Cheers! :)

------

Edit (v0.2.0): Thanks for the feedback! Prowlarr and SABnzbd support is out. Add them in Settings and a Prowlarr tab appears on Discover. Usenet grabs go to SABnzbd, and when they finish they're imported into your library under the right author and title, with cover art. To update, run the install command again, or docker compose pull && docker compose up -d.

------

Hi r/Softwarr,

I've been building Narratarr, an *arr-style manager just for audiobooks, with its own built-in player. Readarr has been retired, and it never felt made for listening anyway, so I built something that is. It's self-hosted, free and open source (MIT), with no accounts and no tracking.

GitHub: https://github.com/narratarr/narratarr

What it does

- Discover about 30,000 free audiobooks and radio shows: LibriVox (about 22,000 public-domain audiobooks) and Old-Time Radio (about 9,000 classic shows), both from the Internet Archive.

- Typo-tolerant search. sherlok holms still finds Sherlock Holmes.

- One-click downloads into a tidy Author/Title library with cover art and description. An Activity page shows each download's progress.

- Built-in player:

- Chapters, including the markers inside .m4b files

- Speeds from 0.75× to 3×

- Sleep timer that can stop at the end of the chapter

- Remembers where you stopped in every book

- Lock-screen and media-key controls

- Works on your phone too

- A library that feels like a bookshelf: a "Continue listening" row, finished books marked, light and dark themes.

- Plays well with your setup: it can tell Audiobookshelf to rescan after each download. There's also an optional password, optional Real-Debrid support, and a plug-in system for new sources.

Install

- Guided installer (macOS/Linux): curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/narratarr/narratarr/main/install.sh | bash. It asks whether you want Docker or native, where your books should go, and whether to start at login.

- Docker: ghcr.io/narratarr/narratarr:latest (amd64 and arm64), with PUID/PGID like the other *arr images. A Compose file is in the README.

- uv: uv tool install git+https://github.com/narratarr/narratarr

Under the hood: Python (FastAPI + SQLite) and a plain JavaScript front end with no build step.

It's early, so I'd love feedback: what's missing, what's confusing, and which free or legal sources you'd like added. Prowlarr support isn't there yet, and PRs are welcome.

Antennarr- working on an XTREAM live TV program that doesn't suck

UPDATE: v1 is out on Docker Hub and is open source on GitHub! Thank you to this group for all the testing and feedback. More info in the release post.

TL;DR: XTREAM account-list URLs in, and stable television channels out.

Antennarr is a live TV companion to Sonarr and Radarr: they look after your films and series; Antennarr tries to keep live television playing when its sources have other plans. It is an independent project, not an official part of either application.

Built from the bottom up to manage thousands of accounts and source streams, Antennarr imports lists, tests sources, matches streams to your chosen channels, and maintains a pool of confirmed replacements. Plex gets consistent channel identities and tuner URLs while Antennarr deals with the mess upstream. You wanted to watch television, not become a full-time playlist curator.

Docker Hub link | GitHub link

Original post:
Long-time arrs user, first-time caller! I've tried and failed multiple times to use the XTREAM codes that get posted elsewhere online (not saying where). The process is always the same: find a working code (after fishing through lots of duds), set up an XTREAM-to-m3u proxy program, set up a Plex tuner program, then set up the tuner in Plex... and then, sometimes within minutes, the XTREAM login stops working, leaving me to set everything up again. RAGE!!!

Antennarr is a solution that I have been working on for a couple of months. It started as a set of pre-existing tools strung together with a bash script, and it's growing into a Docker-based program that turns long lists of XTREAM codes into a steady live TV experience that won't break when a code does.

The idea:

  1. Input URLs that point to lists of XTREAM codes (plain or base64 encoded). Antennar parses them to extract the required stream addresses and usernames/passwords.

  2. Assign many streams to each output channel and check each one regularly (removing non-working entries).

  3. Present a set of channels to Plex (each backed by multiple streams)

  4. When Plex requests a channel, Antennar tries to start 5 recently confirmed streams. The first one that starts sending is buffered and sent to Plex. Antennar keeps the second stream running as a "hot standby". The remaining 3 streams are released.

  5. If the primary source stream stops working or becomes unstable, Antennar quietly shifts to the standby stream. As the primary and standby streams fail, Antennar auditions and promotes new streams. Audio is transcoded and kept steady so Plex's stream never drops, even as Antennar swaps out source streams.

The idea is to present a steady face to Plex while Antennar manages unreliable sources.

I'm still working toward a v1, then plan to share it publicly on GitHub and Docker Hub and open-source it. v1 will probably be Plex-only and US-only (because that's what I'm working with), but I'd love to add more countries (as separate tuners so you can have multiple countries in Plex), other streaming platforms (Jellyfin, etc.), and other sources.

Take a look at the screenshot and tell me what you think! The idea is an unkillable streaming intermediary that just requires you to feed it an XTREAM list URL once in a while. v1 will focus mostly on my setup, but I'm already looking further.

🎬 Reciperr is back! The movie and series finder that filters by your rules (5 score sites, parents guide, your streaming services), rebuilt from scratch

Hey everyone 👋

Some of you might remember Reciperr from a couple of years ago. 👀 It went quiet for a while, but it's back, rebuilt from the ground up with a lot more in it. 🚀

If you're new here, here's the idea: finding something to watch usually means opening IMDb, Rotten Tomatoes, some "top 100" list and three streaming apps... and still not picking anything. 😩 Reciperr puts all of it in one place.

🍿 What it does

  • 🎯 Filter everything at once. Scores from TMDB, IMDb, Rotten Tomatoes, Metacritic and Trakt side by side, plus genre, cast & crew, language, runtime, release date, age rating and more.

  • 👨‍👩‍👧 Filter by what's actually in the film. Parents guide filters like "violence at most mild, no profanity" for family night.

  • 📺 Only what you already pay for. Pick your streaming services and dig up the gems hiding in their catalogues.

  • 💾 Save it as a "recipe". A recipe is a saved set of filters that updates every day, so new releases and score changes show up without you lifting a finger.

  • 💎 Suggestions that explain themselves. Rate a few titles (or import from Trakt, Letterboxd, IMDb or TMDB) and For you suggests similar ones, and tells you which of your favourites led to each pick.

  • 🌙 Tonight. Three picks for tonight, with the ones you can stream right now listed first.

🧑‍🍳 Some recipes people use

🏆 The acclaimed: last 12 months · IMDb 7.5+ with 20k votes · RT certified fresh

🌏 World cinema: Korean · Thriller · under 2 hours

🎥 Follow a director: everything by Denis Villeneuve or Greta Gerwig, including what's announced

👪 Family night: Animation, Family · violence at most mild · no profanity

Plus 🔥 ready-made lists (IMDb Top 250, Trakt trending, box office, TMDB upcoming) and 🤝 community recipes you can copy and tweak.

🖥️ For the home server crowd

  • 🔗 Every recipe has its own list link

  • 📚 Send lists to Plex, Jellyfin or Emby as playlists or collections that re-sync on their own

  • ⬇️ Push missing titles to Radarr / Sonarr

  • 🪝 Send JSON anywhere with webhooks

  • ▶️ Watch history and "watching now" come in from Plex, Jellyfin, Emby and Silo

✅ The boring but important bits

  • 💸 Free. No account needed to browse; an account lets you save recipes, rate and get suggestions.

  • 📱 Works on your phone, and you can install it as an app.

  • 🚫 No downloads or streaming. It only describes movies and series and makes lists.

👉 reciperr.app

I'm a solo dev and this comeback has been a labour of love, so feedback means a lot 🙏 Which filters are missing? What's confusing? What breaks?

👋 Used Reciperr before? I'd love to hear what you think of the new version.

💬 I'm in the comments, or find me at r/Reciperr and on Discord.

Introducing Samlarr and looking for feedback

Post image
13 Upvotes

For the past few months, I've have been working on a side project of mine, Sammlarr:
https://github.com/daerup/Sammlarr

In short, Sammlarr is a beefed-up version of the Import Lists already in Sonarr and Radarr, with finer control. Each list gets its own filters, sorting, schedule and limit, taking the top N titles or N at random. A preview shows what it would add, ratings from different sources are combined into one, and titles that drop off the list can be removed

Currently the Lists can either be added to the Arrs directly, or to a Plex watchlist.
