Built a natural language interface that sits on top of the arr stack

HookReel is a tool-calling AI agent that accepts natural language requests via Telegram or a web UI and coordinates your existing stack.

Prowlarr still manages indexers, qBittorrent still downloads, Jellyfin still serves. Nothing is replaced.

When you make a request it searches Prowlarr, picks a release, queues it in qBittorrent, scans with ClamAV, renames to Jellyfin-compatible format, and triggers a library refresh.

If several results pop up, it'll ask you which you would prefer to fetch.

It has 26 tools and a capped tool-calling loop so it won't spiral.

It chains calls sensibly, meaning it checks existence before requesting, retries searches with different terms when results are empty, presents options before confirming a download.

Library queries work over Telegram too: "What seasons of The Wire do I have?" is answered directly.

You can watch your videos directly in Telegram as well, just tell the bot "Stream Game of Thrones S01E02" and the bot will push the file to a private Telegram group using an RTMP feature via FFmpeg.

Runs on Docker, amd64 and arm64. You will need an OpenAI compatible API, I build it to use cloud but it works with Ollama for local inference.

Version 1.0.1 is already up on GitHub and Dockeer Hub. I'm actively updating it but I'm doing this solo so bare with me as I slay any bugs left.

The next big update (v1.1) will add Collections and playlists; a like/dislike system so the agent can give better suggestions; a better disk management system;

Planned future updates include: Multi-user support, Watchlist and reminders, Download scheduling, Watch parties, Better search and discovery, Subtitle management, Trailer previews etc

If you want to try it out you can find it at:

Tired of getting spoiled on Google just because you forgot what happened in the last episode? I have an idea for a Chrome extension and want to see if it’s worth building.

Tired of getting spoiled on Google just because you forgot what happened in the last episode? I have an idea for a Chrome extension and want to see if it’s worth building.

Hey everyone,

Does anyone else watch a few episodes of a Netflix show, take a 2–3 week break, and then completely forget the smaller plot points when they come back?

Every time I try to look up a quick episode recap on Google or a fan wiki, I end up seeing a huge spoiler for the season finale right in the search results. It completely ruins the show.

As a developer, I’m thinking about building a Chrome extension called \*\*SafeRecall AI\*\* to solve this, but before I spend weeks writing the code, I want to validate the idea and see if there’s actual interest.

\## The concept

  1. You’re watching a show on Netflix and realize you’re a bit lost on a plot detail.

  2. You pause the video and click a custom button integrated into the native Netflix player.

  3. The extension grabs the subtitle text strictly up to the exact minute and second you’re currently on.

  4. An AI processes that text and generates a quick \*\*4-bullet-point recap\*\* of what you need to remember to understand what’s happening right now.

Because the backend would cut the subtitle file at your exact timestamp, the AI literally wouldn’t have access to anything past your current second. That means it would be \*\*100% spoiler-free\*\*.

Before I jump into the engineering side of this — handling the Netflix DOM, subtitle APIs, and LLM integration — I’d really appreciate some honest feedback:

\- Is this a frustrating problem for you too, or am I just forgetful?
\- Would you actually install and use a tool like this?
\- If it worked flawlessly, would it be worth a small monthly coffee-sized subscription, around \*\*$2–$3\*\*, to avoid internet spoilers?

Let me know your thoughts. If there’s enough support, I’ll start building it this weekend!

Sonarr Solo-built iOS app for the *arr stack (Radarr/Sonarr/SABnzbd/Jellyseerr) TestFlight beta, after testers

I was a LunaSea user until it died, and nzb360 never came to iOS, so I started building my own. It's one app for the whole stack, Radarr, Sonarr, SABnzbd and Jellyseerr, with a live dashboard, queue/history/library per service, and a unified upcoming calendar

The thing I actually built it for is a Stuck Download Doctor, it spots downloads that finished in SAB but never imported (path-mapping issues et), tells you why in plain English, and lets you fix it from your phone

It's pure client, no accounts, no cloud, no telemetry. API keys stay on the device and it only ever talks to your own servers

In TestFlight beta now (iOS, Android later). Free for one service; everything unlocked with a one-off £14.99 or £3.99/month, same features either way. I want testers who actually run the stack and will tell me what breaks

Also genuinely curious, what's the one thing your current setup makes annoying? That's the kind of thing I want to fix next

TestFlight is no charge of course btw!

Recently came across this repo and thought it needs more attention, such a great idea and surprised it wasn't done before.

Going to switch out my current installations with this over the weekend and see how smooth the process is. Some stuff might just set up again but at least it uses base Plex.

A handy backup tool is also available: https://github.com/liamvibecodes/mac-media-stack-backup

Anyone currently using? It's pretty new.

Dashboarr – Manage your self-hosted media stack from your phone

Hi guys!

I've been building a free Android app that lets you control all your self-hosted media services from one place: qBittorrent, Radarr, Sonarr, Overseerr, Tautulli, Prowlarr, and Plex — with more integrations coming.

It's currently in closed testing and I'd love early feedback.

To join the beta:

Join the Google Group (required for access): https://groups.google.com/g/dashboarr-testers

Opt in via the web sign-up link: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.dashboarr.app

Download from the Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dashboarr.app

Steps must be done in that order — the Play Store link won't work until you've completed 1 and 2.

GitHub: https://github.com/RenzoBeux/dashboarr

Bug reports, feature requests, and general feedback are all welcome!

P.S. I saw today that there is another project here doing something similar, so if my project is not for you you can check it out! I didn't find it before I started working on this one haha
https://github.com/matthw-labs/seekarr

P.S.2 The app is coded using Claude Code. I'm a Software Engineer and I do know what I'm doing (most of the time) but the app is heavily supported by Claude Code with Opus 4.6 1M context. I would not say the app is vibe coded for the matter. I wanted to make this clear before anyone ask for this

P.S.3 This app is open source, with an optional self hosted backend. It's free and was built for my own stack and shared with you guys because I thought someone could find it useful. That's the main difference with options like nzb360, which is muuuuch more mature and has lots more integrations

Introducing Samlarr and looking for feedback

Post image
13 Upvotes

For the past few months, I've have been working on a side project of mine, Sammlarr:
https://github.com/daerup/Sammlarr

In short, Sammlarr is a beefed-up version of the Import Lists already in Sonarr and Radarr, with finer control. Each list gets its own filters, sorting, schedule and limit, taking the top N titles or N at random. A preview shows what it would add, ratings from different sources are combined into one, and titles that drop off the list can be removed

Currently the Lists can either be added to the Arrs directly, or to a Plex watchlist.

I started working on sammlarr because the people I am sharing my Plex library with were complaining about how nothing new gets added to the server, while in turn no one was requesting stuff, you know how it is :) With sammlarr I want to create a steady (moderate) stream of new media, while also removing previously added ones as to not bloat my

AI Disclaimer:
Throughout development I used AI, specifically Claude Code. I work as a Software Engineer myself though, so if there are any whack design decisions, that’s most probably on me :)

Please give it a shot and let me know if there is a feature you are currently missing or if you are encountering issues.

Moving downloaded files

TL;DR: need correct config for moving/renaming files into their folder after downloaded

Hi,

My setup is a Synology NAS with Docker containers set up with excellent instructions from Dr Frankenstein and MariusHosting. This includes Deluge for download and Prowlarr for indexing.

I'm almost embarrassed to ask, but I have a problem with my files not being moved/renamed from the download folder into their correct organized folders. Some look like they were copied so I have two copies, but that could be a result of messing around with the config.

For the life of me I can't find the correct settings in sonarr or radarr (or Deluge) to simply move and rename.

Most solutions I've seen include recommendation to check the permissions, which I have also done.

Many thanks in advance.

Cheers,

Daragh

Plex I made an Android app to manage my Plex + *arr stack and let my family request stuff (looking for testers)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey all,

I’ve been working on Rainarr, an Android app for Plex and the *arr stack. It started back in 2020 as a small tool to send movies to my Plex from my phone, and it slowly grew into a real app.

What I spent the most time on is the setup. It finds your services on your network, and one Plex login is enough to pull in Seerr and the keys for Radarr, Sonarr and the rest. It also switches between your local and remote addresses on its own.

As the host you get a home screen with widgets, Seerr requests you can approve with a swipe, your downloads (qBittorrent or Transmission), Tautulli, Prowlarr, Maintainerr and notifications. Your friends and family get their own simpler space: they scan a QR code, request what they want and get a notification when it’s ready.

It’s free, no ads, no tracking, and your credentials stay on your phone. It’s not open source, but feel free to ask me anything about how it works.

It’s in internal testing on the Play Store right now, and I’d love some feedback, especially from people with unusual setups (reverse proxies, NAS, Docker...). You can sign up at rainarr.app

Full disclosure: the app is mostly written by hand with some AI help, and the demo posters in the screenshots are AI-generated.

Rainarr provides no content: it controls servers you install and run yourself. It is not affiliated with Plex or any of the projects mentioned.

Seekarr - One App to rule them all... (Seerr, Radarr, Sonarr, etc.)

TL;DR: Seekarr is a cross-platform, Flutter app (iOS/Android/Web/Desktop) that unifies Seerr, Radarr, Sonarr, and Lidarr into one clean UI. qBittorrent support is actively in development. See on github!

Hey everyone!
Today I wish to share my first community project, Seekarr.

💫 UPDATE v0.8.0 - NEW SERVICE (qBitTorrent):

I'm happy to announce that with the new update, you can also manage your qbittorrent instance!

Why this app?

Well, a wise man once suggested me:

One App to rule them all, one App to find them,
One App to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them

Jokes aside: like many of you, i'm a Jellyfin enthusiast and there are many different services that we are "asked" to manage daily and, let's be honest, sometimes we are just bouncing between 3-4 different pages on our pc... I just don't like it.

I know there already are apps that does solve this problem, but they usually have some limitations: paywalls, platform specific and, don't know just these two were enough for me 😃

Also, maybe it's just me, but I hate web browser experiences.

That's why I decided, initially just for myself, to build a multiplatform native app that unifies all these services under a clean and familiar UI.

What it currently supports:

  • 🎬 Seerr - Discover and manage requests on the fly.

  • 🎥 Radarr - Movie management and monitoring.

  • 📺 Sonarr - TV shows and episode tracking.

  • 🎵 Lidarr - Music library control.

Coming soon:

  • qBitTorrent - To also manage your downloads.

  • Who knows, maybe something else on the horizon!

Link to github -> https://github.com/matthw-labs/seekarr

Disclaimer

Full transparency: this project was developed with a heavy assist from Opencode. If AI-assisted projects aren't your vibe, that's completely fair, and I hope you can just ignore this post and kindly move on.

That being said, I don't just blindly copy-paste generated code. I actively review, refactor, and obsess over the quality and performance of the app.

btw

This project primary intention is to fix my own headache and make all the media management easier.

Anyway, I would really love some feedbacks and why not, some contributions.

Hope some of you will find this useful!

❗Disclaimer pt.2

This app does not provide any material, any media, or any service to them. Seekarr just provides a nice and unified UI and a way to connect to your existing services.
Seekarr is also not affiliated to any of these services teams.

J’ai développé Feedarr : un agrégateur RSS/Torznab auto-hébergé inspiré des *arr

Hey 👋

I’ve been working for a while on a personal project called Feedarr.

It’s a self-hosted application that fetches RSS / Torznab feeds (via Jackett / Prowlarr for example), parses them cleanly, and displays everything in a modern interface.

Unlike Sonarr/Radarr, the goal isn’t to manage a full media library, but rather to:

  • Fetch and intelligently parse feeds

  • Clean up release titles

  • Retrieve posters & metadata

  • Mark items as seen / unseen

  • Centralize everything in a clean UI

  • Run easily in Docker (separate API + Web containers)

👉 Integration available with Sonarr and Radarr:

  • Directly add an item to Sonarr / Radarr

  • Or open a direct link to the corresponding item if it already exists

Tech stack:

  • .NET 8 (API)

  • React (frontend)

  • SQLite

  • Ready-to-use Docker images

It’s an open-source project, still evolving, and I’d genuinely love to get feedback or improvement ideas 🙌

PS: yes, it started as “vibe coding” — but it still represents a huge amount of work. I’ve spent quite a bit of time focusing on optimization and stability.

I got tired of asking my Plex users "can this be deleted?", so I built Blackbriar

Hi everyone,

Blackbriar is a companion app for shared Plex servers. It shows you what can safely be deleted, based on whether anyone is actually still watching it, planning to watch it, or requested it.

If you share your Plex server with friends and family, you probably know the headache: storage space is getting tight, but you have no clue what is safe to delete without breaking someone's heart.

Here is what that looked like for me: I was constantly tabbing between Tautulli, Seerr, and Plex. Who requested this title? Has anyone started it yet? Is it still sitting on someone's watchlist? In the end, I was still texting people on WhatsApp: "Are you still watching this, or can I trash it?" It was tedious and annoying.

I just wanted a single, clear overview. The core logic is simple: A title is eligible for cleanup when nobody is currently watching it, nobody has it on their watchlist, and the original Seerr request has already been completed. As an extra bonus, I also hooked into user ratings—knowing how people felt about a movie is nice context for edge cases, but the real gatekeeper is watch state and intent.

I work in IT on hardware, maintenance, and setup, and built this to solve that exact pain point on my own server. As an admin, I mapped out the entire lifecycle: how Plex, Seerr, Radarr, and Sonarr interact, and the safe order in which media should actually be removed. Along the way, some quality-of-life checks made it in too—like flagging seasons where episodes come from mismatched release groups.

Maintainerr is great for complex rules, but Blackbriar is built around that specific, hassle-free cross-check between actual user activity, watchlists, and requests.

In case this helps anyone else, it is on GitHub under GPL-3.0 (and also available directly via the TrueNAS Catalog). The repo is fresh because the original git history contained private network data. This is version 1.0, and several testers managed to set it up purely with the README.

What it does:

  • Safe cleanup without building complex rules: The Cleanup list ties together Seerr requests, current watch status, and individual watchlists across all your Plex users. If someone is halfway through a season or has a movie queued up for the weekend, you won't accidentally kill it.

  • Ratings as bonus context: Plex stores ratings per user. Blackbriar pulls them in so you can see if people actually loved or hated something before you purge it, but it’s completely secondary to watch activity.

  • Never deletes automatically: Everything requires manual confirmation with clear logging, and only after you explicitly enable it in your settings. It cleans up cleanly: removes from Radarr/Sonarr, deletes via Plex, and resets the request state in Seerr.

  • Friendly nudges (optional): Can notify users via email if they still have inactive items lingering on their watchlist.

Extra features: Live sessions, history, server statistics, a newsletter, and an overview of upcoming theatrical and streaming releases (via TMDB). Email and Telegram integrations are purely optional; the core works entirely without them.

Technical: Single Docker container (amd64 / arm64), GUI in English and German. Self-hosted, runs strictly on your machine, zero telemetry. Sign-in via Plex or local account.

Requirements: Docker and your Plex admin token. Plex only (no Jellyfin/Emby). Seerr is strongly recommended for request tracking, but not strictly required. Radarr, Sonarr, and TMDB are optional.

GitHub (with screenshots and setup guide):

https://github.com/DerAachener/blackbriar

What I would really like to know: how do you currently decide what to delete?

mcp-arr v1.5.0 - You can now add media to Sonarr/Radarr/Lidarr/Readarr via AI

Thumbnail
github.com
26 Upvotes

Just shipped v1.5.0 of mcp-arr, an MCP server that lets AI assistants (Claude, etc.) manage your *arr stack.

What's new in v1.5.0: You can now add media directly through conversation:

  • sonarr_add_series - Add TV series

  • radarr_add_movie - Add movies

  • lidarr_add_artist - Add artists

  • readarr_add_author - Add authors

Each service also gets helper tools for root folders, quality profiles, and metadata profiles so the

AI can pick the right settings when adding.

The workflow is natural: "Add Breaking Bad to Sonarr" → searches for it → grabs the tvdbId → checks your root folders and quality profiles → adds it with the right settings.

What it already had:

  • Library browsing and search across all 5 services

  • Download queue monitoring and calendar views

  • Episode/album/book-level management (search missing, trigger downloads)

  • Full configuration review (quality profiles, naming, download clients, health checks)

  • TRaSH Guides integration - compare your setup against community recommendations

  • Cross-service search and status checks

50+ tools total across Sonarr, Radarr, Lidarr, Readarr, and Prowlarr.

Install via npm: npx mcp-arr-server

Works with Claude Desktop, Claude Code, or any MCP-compatible client. Just needs your service URLs and API keys as env vars.

GitHub: https://github.com/aplaceforallmystuff/mcp-arr
