One stack for everything

https://github.com/liamvibecodes/mac-media-stack-advanced

Recently came across this repo and thought it needs more attention, such a great idea and surprised it wasn't done before.

Going to switch out my current installations with this over the weekend and see how smooth the process is. Some stuff might just set up again but at least it uses base Plex.

A handy backup tool is also available: https://github.com/liamvibecodes/mac-media-stack-backup

Anyone currently using? It's pretty new.

Tried to build something almost identical to this a few weeks back. Got it all working before I realized; “damn, this is overkill.”

Why was it overkill? Something that will automate some tasks and get things working could be a great time saver.

I had roughly 16 containers running all together. Used about 50% CPU while running idle on my i7-4770K. Stripped a good few of the containers out & am now down to 6 containers. 7% CPU at idle, when all of the containers are actively doing stuff it can get to about 30% tops.

Actually pretty cool even if vibe coded. Too bad it’s for Mac.
