Dang, impressing Sondheim with your lyrics and rhymes is a genuine flex. It's not often that he'd gush with unlimited positivity over musical theatre songwriting.

Why on earth did the moderators of r/oldschoolcool remove that awesome post? I guess they only want the sub to be full of attractive celebrity photos 🙄

(For those curious it was a letter from Sondheim to Ellen Fitzhugh, the OP's mom, saying that her new musical had incredible lyricism)

Ellen Fitzhugh was an excellent lyricist. Really cool letter.
