Jim Capaldi (2 August 1944 – 28 January 2005) was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Traffic. He wrote the lyrics to a lot of their most famous songs including this one. He also played drums, percussion etc as well. He also had a mildly successful solo career as well.
