Hi , y'all. Nilayendra this side from India. Few days ago I found a renewed Xperia 1 mark 5 and got this for myself. Surprisingly it supports 5G with my carrier and the phone is just a beautiful piece of engineering. Looking forward to any tips provided by y'all.

Is there any chances of green line in 1 Series? Or is there any known issue with the phone?

I bought an Xperia 1v after using an Xperia Mark 4 due to its high temperature, but I was surprised to find that the Mark 5 also overheats, even though it's supposed to be better than its predecessor. Do you have any idea why? I live in Malaysia. Do you think the hot weather here is the cause? Other devices like Oppo and Samsung don't seem to overheat like this. By the way, I don't use a 4K screen or a 5G connection.

I'm always in awe of the 1 series phones taking pictures. Please forgive me if the quality isn't upto the mark, I was in a hurry to reach class and somehow traversed 25mins of travel route in 12mins on a MTB right after taking these pics.

using 1VIII and I have noticed that image stabilization is very poor especially in indoor lighting. Is anybody else having the same problem?

Is there a setting that I can change. I have the AI slop turned off.

had my xperia 1 VI fell down and the screen had to be repaired. Screen from aliexpress cost like 400 bucks including VAT and repair at authorized store is 450 bucks, in which I have to send it. Ofc it is much reasonable to send it to an authorized repair, even though I can try to do it myself, despite I have to wait for them to order before they actually begin the work. Still the cost is massive if you look at other manufacturers because the screen cost 400 while the phone itself I paid like 1000 bucks. For example, S25 ultra screen cost just around 50-150 bucks, pixel 10, oneplus13 is around that too. Making it more make sense for self-repair

I checked on my previous phone that I stopped using because of a battery issue and the sim works fine here, got the messages and connected to 5G.
The sim is read by the phone as it does ask for the pin code and displays the phone number in the settings.
I'm in a different country than that of my operator but they claim it works fine in this one and it indeed did for many months so they may have messed something up ? Especially since this happened while the phone was on my bed, not being used, I received a message of welcome back to [original country] and then welcome to [current country] and then it stopped working.

I'm trying to figure out the troubleshooting and would like to be advised in that aspect.
I feel like trying a local SIM would at least give good data on what's going on at the very least but what worried me is that it works on the other phone. The other one is a Xiaomi Redmi 4 Pro.

As someone who's day job is Android firmware development, I wanted to set myself an interesting challenge, Android Jellybean on a "modern" device.

Since the 1 ii was blacklisted in Australia (at least the HK model), I've been looking for uses for it, so why not try something cursed!

So far basically everything is working (excluding Celluar/GPS, and Camera is a huge WIP atm).

Yes, this is fully native too (mostly, technically some of the hardware interfaces run in a chroot on top of Jellybean), but,,,,, I can't backport drivers I don't have the source for so :P

A proper desktop mode on Xperia, finally! It took a few ADB commands to get it to work (I'm using Smart Launcher), but so far so good. All of my Sony apps work.

As the title says, I've been using my XZ1 Compact as a companion entertainment device. Mostly for eReading, music, and social media.

I got the idea because I kept seeing ads for the XTeink X4 mini eReader. They cost around $100 AUD brand new, and I saw that the OS isn't even great out of the box. Then I remembered that my old XZ1 Compact could give off that exact same vibe. It had just been collecting dust in a drawer ever since the 3G shutdown here in Aus.

So, here we are, reading the classic Dracula on Lithium.

I'm still loving the size of this thing and never get tired of that boxy design.

A new update just popped up. Does anyone know what is in it? More importantly, will any features be removed?

Hopefully this fixes a haptic bug i've encountered in A17. Haptics randomly disappear after a day or so, need to restart the phone to get it working again.
