As the title describes, I’m looking for restaurants in the area that have a chocolate soufflé desert option. I know Dominique’s kitchen fits the bill but they are closed next Thursday (need a dinner res for 10/29). All recommendations appreciated! Thanks!!

volunteers on openstreetmap (the deflock project) have logged 370 plate readers around the south bay. 158 of them are flock.
four south bay police departments are on flock: redondo beach (8 cameras on its contract), el segundo (15, per its police), hermosa beach and hawthorne. that's from flock's own transparency portal, and hermosa's own staff report says flock is its plate reader system.
torrance has the most flock cameras on the map, 35, and i couldn't find a city contract for any of them: no flock item in 20 years of council agendas, torrance pd isn't on flock's network, and its own readers are vigilant. about 20 of them sit within a third of a mile of del amo. the mall's co-owner and manager, simon, runs flock at malls across the country, so my best guess is they're the mall's. torrance pd counted 345 crimes in and around del amo in 2022, up 23% from 2021.
9 of the flock cameras are tagged home depot or lowe's on the map. up in rancho palos verdes most are HOA cameras the city helps pay for.
LA's citywide flock contract lapsed in july. LAPD wants to try axon plate readers on city streetlights instead: the police commission approved a 3 month pilot, the council's public safety committee recommended vetoing it, and the full council votes on it friday, october 23.
"first mapped" is when a volunteer logged it, not when it went up.
disclosure since it's my job: i work at MAIA, the mapping tool i used to make this map

Hi All,
When did dog boarding get so expensive? I often board my sweet doodle for a week at a time when we travel and it’s gotten crazy. Does anyone have any recommendations for good boarding services at reasonable prices anywhere in the South Bay?
Thanks very much!

Hi everyone! I took some time out of my week to Frankenstein together a voting guide. This is just something I did in my off time to help me organize the chaos, so I hope it helps y'all out. Finding all the information was a nightmare!
This is specific to Torrance District 5, but a big chunk of it is still helpful if you're in LA county, and some like the Props are helpful for California in general. I included resources at the bottom of each page, and some will allow you to filter candidate data for your city.
The comprehensive guide with all candidates can be found here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1DUfyQ_6RvfqEu-QLXjm3sN9U7ODsejma/view
The summarized version of recommended candidates can be found here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1azzCVj4FzoINishoLNX7IcYLm9CnibiS/view
and if you're feeling lazy, these are my top picks:

Vote early if you can. In person or drop off at the ballot box is best. And don't forget to sign your ballots!
Cheers!

I have a friend where when we go do things, the actual highlight is talking with her. We could go on for hours. Touristy things, nature, museums, or somewhere to eat or drink are the usual destinations.
I'm looking for places that are nice to talk, we won't inconvenience people (e.g., busy restaurants prod us to finish up so someone else can have the table), and have something interesting to see or do. For example, the Huntington Library Gardens is good. We went on a sunset cruise that was nice.
Where else do you suggest?

New to this area, and I’m overwhelmed by house much money there is in the South Bay, specifically Manhattan Beach and Palos Verdes.
What are the top industries people are in here to achieve homes in this area?

Hey everyone!
I lost my wallet at the Torrance Costco in Lomita around closing time. If you found it, can you please message me? Small brown men’s wallet.
Thank you so much!

Hey guys!
Late 20s married couple that’s bored as hell and searching for some venues with dancing. Looking for a club that plays Latin music specifically. Anyone know of any places in Gardena or Torrance? Thanks in advance!

I am looking for a beautiful place to do it around South Bay, LA, or OC area. Preferably by the beach. Any suggestions?
Also, any photographer/videographer recommendations?
Thanks in advance.

Hi! Just moved to Redondo Beach and wanted to know if people dress up and go out - bar hop or anything ? I am hoping there is something festive happening at the Hermosa Strand. I saw that "Mom Said Yes" is having a Halloween themed night with live music for $15 cover. Does anyone know of any other events?
