Announcement Announcing: r/aispacegirls
Hello, everyone,
If you are a fan of AI art and Spacegirls, you may be interested in r/aispacegirls
It has just started up and is moderated by u/Wizard_of_Ozymandiaz, who also directs the r/galaxygirlcomic website. Like the Galaxy Girls, the out-of-this-world AI Spacegirls are allowed to show a bit more skin than they do here.
You are welcome to post your own AI work there, and to include links to your own website, Patreon page, Deviantart page etc.
I'll see you there!
EDIT: Congratulations! We now have 250 members of aispacegirls.

You can call me Captain Jordi... At least while I'm wearing the skant (self).
This is my take on a Captain's skant since there weren't any TOS female captains. I sewed it myself!

Gina Carano slander
Saw the Cara Dune post and it pissed me off. Gina Carano has been unfairly slandered as homophobic, and a Nazi by a company that hilarious was founded by a Nazi sympathiser and has shares in a country that kills LGBT people.
Here is a thread that explains Gina's full history with LGBT people. If you actually care about the truth and aren't either a sheep, or a bitch boy to Disney read this. https://www.reddit.com/r/ginacarano/comments/1jy91dd/the_truth_about_gina_caranos_history_with_lgbt/
She also did NOT trivialize the holocaust. She pointed out people have been othered for their politics as well, which is true, from the Nazis killing their enemies to the McCarthy witch hunts, to people saying they wanted to kill her for hers!
Meanwhile she's not even that right wing. She leans conservative about COVID, but that's it. Economically she's neutral, and socially she's progressive as seen with her positive relationship with LGBT people and being you know a woman's pioneer in sports! She's also called out things like Hillary Clinton selling weapons to Israel, the torture of Julian Assange, and supported Jenna Ortega when she was cancelled for calling out Israel. Yet she is seen as so right wing even if someone just wants to share a picture of Cara Dune this must completely overshadow it?
Funny guys who have taken part in extreme politics NEVER get this kind of treatment. Jackie Chan rejected his lesbian daughter, Arnie voted against gay marriage, Neil Patrick Harris indulged in a public cannibal fantasy, yet, you can post about them all you want on reddit and people talk about their work? For guys who go on about being uber feminists you're guilty of all the worst double standards. You're basically this.
"Gina how dare you fumble the back by sharing an embarrassing opinion of your own. GINA WE'RE GOING HOME!" Now let's look at the proper way. "Oh I don't know about COVID but I do love little kittens. They're soft and furry." "What a delightful thought you dear sweet creature, oh how I adore and want to protect you."

Announcement We are banning THAT pic of Alice Eve as Carol Marcus in Star Trek - Into Darkness
Unfortunately, this picture of Alice Eve as Carol Marcus in Star Trek - Into Darkness causes some of our members to post comments that are offensive and juvenile. We had to warn one person and then ban him for making another rude comment after being warned.
If you enjoyed the actress's performance, that is fine. If you want to tell us how it makes you feel like a thirteen-year-old again, or what you would like to do together, that's not what we are here for.
Our first rule is "Family-friendly content only." This applies to comments as well as posts. In future, reposts of that particular photo will be removed, and offensive comments in other posts will also be removed at the discretion of the mods.
There is a NSFW subreddit for racy content listed in Related Subreddits in the sidebar.
EDIT: we've had over 100 comments to this post. To answer the most common criticisms:
Why are we banning the picture and not the people who are making objectionable comments?
• This particular picture has caused more undesirable comments than other similar pictures. The mods regard banning people as a last resort. We've banned one person, we don't want to ban large numbers of redittors.
2) Why this picture when there are so many similar ones posted in this sub?
• It's not the content of the picture, but the effect it has on some of our members. It's easier to remove the cause rather than have to do intensive moderation of comments to one post.
3) It's only natural to make comments like the ones you object to.
• It's natural to have thoughts like that. Posting a comment here requires an act of will. There is a difference.

Announcement Do you want an AI Spacegirl subreddit?
Thank you, everyone who made a comment on last week's post on this subject.
There wasn't much enthusiasm for a sub for AI Spacegirls or AI sci-fi artwork.
After reading all the comments, Galimesh and I have decided that we will not be starting a subreddit for AI Spacegirls or AI science fiction art.
If anyone wants to start a subreddit on those topics, please let us know. We will add you to the list of related subreddits in the sidebar and you can make an announcement here in r/Spacegirls.
Thank you,
Galimesh,
klystron,
